Isn’t V supposed to be the “BARITONE” of the group!? This man went higher than his voice was designed to go…and then he went even higher.

Today's video is a continuation of a reaction video that we posted on our YouTube channel, where we listen to “STIGMA” for the first time! If you haven't already seen that video, go check it out now and then come back. We'll be waiting for you…

https://youtu.be/aDMuX0-kZrI

🎵“Pretty wings, your pretty wings”🎵…of course we had to detour where our minds took us. Maxwell is an American soul/r&b artist who captured our young 14-year-old ears when he released his song “Pretty Wings” on April 28, 2009.

V was on his Maxwell vibes in this live performance. He commanded the stage like we’ve never seen him do before. He sang higher than we thought possible. And he made our toes curl (or did this only happen to Jared?)🦶🏼

ARMY, we have to ask you again…DOES IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS???????

As always, we truly appreciate your love and support (WE’LL CONTINUE SAYING THIS UNTIL THE END OF TIME). Thank you both💜 Just wanted to say that I’m not doing okay today but the notification of this upload made me smile and boosted my mood. I really do appreciate you, Jared and Jordan. I hope you’re both doing well and I wish you a Happy New Year. Much love and support always💜🫶🏾

This song + Singularity is what makes V, V to me. 2 Very beautiful mesmerizing songs that just gives you the CHILLS. and omg not the TOES curling LMAOOOO

qq

v can hit the lowest AND highest note in BTS. his register may be baritone but his range is soooo insane!! thank you guys for checking stigma out! i hope you have a wonderful new years!!!

Madison

Tae is a baritone but he is a baritone with a wide range so it makes it easier for him to hit higher octaves. In general he has to change his voice a lot because the other 3 vocalists are tenors.

Magdalena

Guys, Happy New Year!!!!!

Anja⁷

Thank you Jared&Jordan! This reaction was the perfect finish of this year! I love Vs vocal range in this song so much and I'm very curious about your reaction about that song in context with the BU storyline. I wish you, your family and (of course) ARMY a healthy Happy New Year 2023! 보라해! 💜🥂🍀🫶

Noll⁷

This performance hits me, everytime I hear and see it. V's voice and his gestures and looks always gives me chills. He is amazing. The *steps* he is going down are related to the story of the Bangtan Universe. Cant wait for it, if you will deep dive into that. I think its a good way to continue your journey, because you can watch their videos then in order, that are related to the BU (it starts with I need you). Have fun guys, stay healthy and have a good new year 2023 Army will be here with you 😍💜 Borahae

Abbie

V is insane, no one has a voice like him. He has the widest vocal range. A lot of the time the lowest and the highest notes are from him. When I was a new Army I always found Vs voice the easiest to recognise because there’s just something about it, it’s so unique and you wouldn’t expect a voice like that to come from him. The whole thing was simply captivating. Thank you for all the amazing content and videos you have provided for us this year you are both amazing, i can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store. I hope y’all are doing better and have the best 2023! Happy New Year and lots of love always from rainy Scotland 🤣💜💜

Veronica⁷

Happy New Year! May you have a healthy and prosperous 2023. 💜💜

Yeontae

Commanding!!! Exactly Jordan. V has the ability to get everyone’s attention just by standing on that stage. His expression and charisma and stage presence is God Tier. Those high notes are chef’s kiss. Give me chills everytime. V belongs on stage. He is not just a singer, he is a performer. A great one. Thank you for this JJ. 💜

Abbie

Im sorry to hear that.. I hope you have a better day tomorrow and have a beautiful 2023 💜

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

It made Jared’s toes “curl”!! YESSSSSSS! I’ve been waiting months for this. I knew it would get you where you live Jared. From the little eh, eh and that rippling instrument, the finger snapping, the drum kick and that “are you calling me a sinner “ I get chills every time I watch Tae sing Stigma! Those looks, oh my, my. When he hits that incredible high wail, I’m done ✅! I bet you guys didn’t even realize it’s a STAGE MIX of 2 performances 😂😂! I think Stigma snatched you back from bias wrecking Jimin. This reaction was the best way to top off this year. 🤌🏻❤️ Thank you, thank you, thank you 😊. Happy, happy New Year Jared and Jordan. I wish you both peace, love, joy, happiness and good health for 2023. Love you both 🤗🥰💜💜🙏🇨🇦

Anaïs

Glad you've checked this out, this is song is just perfection for V. He is such a great singer and performer, I'm really glad you got to check this song out. Happy New Year by the way, to you and all ARMYs here. May this year bring you joy, happiness and health. 💜 Ps. I saw someone mention the BU, and as it is very broad I suggest you still to end the "Rise of Bangtan" series then after to dive into the BU, it will require your upmost attention once you start.

Becca L

HAPPY NEW YEAR.... MAY YOU HAVE GOOD TIMES AND MAKE BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES THIS YEAR.... BLESSINGS AND LOVE TO YOU BOTH FROM AUSTRALIA💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 “Stigma” explores the tragic backstory of V’s fictional self in the BTS Universe. Although the “Stigma” storyline is fictional, its raw emotion and anguish couldn’t be more real. V’s lyrics express the growing pains of youth as well as a sense of frustration many young people experience. “I wanted to portray someone young,” he said. “still growing up, crying out in anguish—that feeling of wanting to thrash about and tell the world you’re tired and fed up.” .. “Stigma,” however, is just the first chapter in a story, and that story has a happy ending. V said, “the young person in ‘Stigma’ passed through ‘Singularity’ and ‘Inner Child’ and grew up.” V has never confirmed how or in what way the lyrics actually relate to him in a personal way. Credits - "Stigma" (solo by V) Written and Composed by V, Philtre, Slow Rabbit, "Hitman" Bang... Produced by Philtre For a Baritone in KPOP, V has widest vocal range (as per real vocal analysts) of Eb2 ~ D6 (3 octaves, 5 notes and 1 semitone), which means he can hit high octaves with ease. .. Please try to check out Hwarang, it was his acting in this role that brought me to BTS... maybe you can react to it.... I know lots of people would watch it with you.

LIBBY WILSON

I'm on it! I'm looking at your reaction now! Thanks for Y our reaction. Isn't V amazing. His vocal range is crazy! His grandmother raised him mostly and he was very close to her. The way he sung this song, he must have suffered something strong.

Daphne Schaffer

Happy New Year! Taehyung co-wrote stigma when he was 19 years old and it took 2 months to practice the song, he also told the genre of the song and the most sophisticated song in the album. Taehyung shares a story about his inner child which he composed and wrote. You never walk alone is good too as well as Inner Child by V - the merry-go-round with a little V is sweet. (Inner Child he calls himself "my boy, My boy, my boy...) This song definitely fits the BTS Universe... I won't tell you what he did... it is a shocking part of the video).

Which app did you use to view Hwarang. I haven't seen it and tonight would be a great night to watch ot! Thanks.💜

Alishea

This is my favourite performance of Stigma from Taehyung and he nailed the high note! I felt that in my soul. Happy new year guys, I hope you feel better soon 💜

Unfortunately the Rise of Bangtan episodes have been deleted by the creator. I’ll miss them; they were amazing.

Saphy

Pure R&B bliss. Thanks guys. Wishing you a Happy New Year. Peace and Love 💜

April

Happy New Year and Happy New Year to army. May 2023 be the start to a wonderful year!!!!

Daphne Schaffer

Each BTS member brings a different flavor and fragrance in their personal music. Can it get any better? BTS is great and then all these flavors and scents.

(Replying on this comment as my phone messed up replying on your other message)😖 Hi Elizabeth, Happy new year💜 Yes, it would be a great show to watch today. I know it's on Netflix at the moment (I rewatched it 2 weeks ago)... I am in Australia tho, so I don't know if it's available in your country... if not, try using a VPN to set your IP to Australia. I highly recommend it... I first saw it in 2016 .... watching Hwarang for Park Seojoon as he's one of my favourite actors. But Tae captivated me the moment in the scene where he held up the glass to the sky... the way he captured the youthful curiosity of his character... and I just had to know more about this actor (he also made me cry... a first for me, his character really touched my heart, but no spoilers)... he is the reason I found BTS. But not only his performance, but the entire cast and story was great. Funny, dramatic, thrilling, action, it's a great ride. His close bonds with Park Seojoon and Park Hyungsik were formed during this time. I can send you link for cute behind the scenes interview if you like... he was the maknae of the actors on set and they adored him. Hope you enjoy it 💜

Angelen Hioe

Happy New Year 😆😆😆 so excited!!!

LIBBY WILSON

@Becca L: I have a Netflix subscription. I'm going to look fir it. If not, I will buy it if necessary. Thanks my ARMY Sister! OT7 💜×7

SingingSeaDragon 01

Honestly brought a new happiness to seeing this video and song. It’s like seeing it for the first time again. I had a feeling you guys would love this song. This is part of the reason v is my bias wrecker. I’m so happy to tell you yes it continues to get better. It never stops getting better. You are still looking at a long road full of content to explore. I look forward to Film Out, the Run BTS x Game Caterer’s episode (141-144), Does That Make Sense?, Life by RM, Agust D, and so many more that I would take another paragraph to write lol. Thank you guys for this and happy new years!

ChefQ

This is definitely one of my favorites. There was a moment when V talked about the song and he said "V’s lyrics express the growing pains of youth as well as a sense of frustration many young people experience. “I wanted to portray someone young,” he said. “still growing up, crying out in anguish—that feeling of wanting to thrash about and tell the world you’re tired and fed up.” It makes you feel that pain 10 fold.

DanielleM

Happy new year!💜

Laurie Brennan⁷

I agree...Stigma is definitely toe curling music. Happy New Year to all!!

MinWii

I can't begin to articulate the way V's voice moves my soul, he is special. Happy New Year!!! Borahae 💜💜💜

Yeontae

Rise of Bangtan series are all deleted from Youtube. Not sure how are you guys going to continue reacting to the series. Hope it’s temporary. 😭😭😭

Crystal

When you consider both Lie and Stigma are on the same album... you guys are not ready for Wings ;)

A. Brown

Tae's voice has always been my favorite in the group and is how I got into BTS. I have always loved deep tones and Tae's velvety honey smooth vocals are a love's kiss to my ears. Couple that with his awesome vocal range where he can go equally high and smooth is like taking you above the clouds. In short Tae's voice is a tender hug of love that I can never get enough of. He doesn't just sing or perform a song he feels it with his entire being and the audience in turn feels it as well. He is absolutely captivating to me. My favorite live performance of this song is the 2017 memories one with him in the black velvet looking jacket that you can see in some of this also. Tae's expressions, stage presence, and raw emotion was expressed by his whole body in that performance and that enhanced my experience as well. Stigma live is a masterpiece vocal performance and experience. I've heard it said and I agree, Tae performing Stigma live outshines the studio version with the intense power of his raw vocals. Thanks so much for this reaction and it was well worth the wait. 💜🐳

Shalia

Happy New Year Guys... The solo songs on Wings album are spectacular especially Suga's song First Love.

Didi

Singularity and Stigma are my favorite songs (can you tell who my bias is?). They really show off Tae’s style and vocal abilities, and I wish that he could make more songs that showcase what he can really do, because his voice is incredibly powerful. Re: his stage presence, he can command a stage with just ONE LOOK, it’s crazy how magnetic he is! I’m so glad you finally got to this! I was on my way home when I got the notification for your reaction and got so excited, i couldn’t wait to get home. Thank you so much once again for reacting, esp to this one. I hope you feel better and better everyday, and happy new year to my favorite twins 💜💜💜. We love you both! (P.S. I also love Maxwell - his song Whenever, Wherever, Whatever used to be on my daily rotation and I sang it to my kid every night along with a bunch of other songs. 💜💜💜)

Drieka21

This is one of my absolute favorite Tae songs. Vocals are so beautiful and different ranges.

Selina T

Tae is very much capable of singing like that, with the wide range, high/low. But as confident as he comes off, I feel he’s sometimes nervous to show it off. He’s even particular with his music. His mixtape was supposed to be released years ago, but he keeps postponing it cuz he’s never satisfied lol. For stigma live performance, I might be wrong, but I think theres a video of JK giving tae extra encouragement because Tae was so nervous before performing. And the members are always tryna get him to go on riffs at their concerts. In LA, they all sang Happy Birthday to Jin, and V hit that same crazy note at the end of the birthday song lol. But V is a superstar. I believe I heard that in the kpop industry, they really like the high singers such as jimin. But V came on the scene and owned the low baritone voice and now people really respect/like it. I remember this one thing that always stuck with me about V: when they were creating characters for their BT21 line, jin was telling the group his character RJ is going to be the most popular and sell the most. Meanwhile V said, I don’t care about being popular, but I want my character to be unique. And you can see, that’s basically how he approaches everything, including his voice/music. with that being said, his unique qualities still make him quite popular lol

Janet Delgado

The first time I heard this song I was in my car with the volume up and I couldn’t move or believe what I was hearing, that bass kicke in and I was like what!!! V’s voice …. I have no words ! He can take you places you don’t want to leave! I love him and his unique personality! Can’t wait for his album!💜🤗🥰🔥💜

Raevan21

V is my favorite vocalist in BTS, as well as being way up on the list of my favorites of all time. His voice is so moving and it just makes me feel every time.

Bwana

Happy new year Jared and Jordan. I’m honored to bring 2023 with you two and all of my BTS/ARMY family. Borahea to you all💜

Mirna

Happy New Year Jared & Jordan. Wishing you & fellow Army’s nothing but the best from the year to come 🤗🙏🥰💜💜💜

Johana

One of my favorite live performances😍 I’m so glad you guys got to experience this beautiful song and vocals by V ♥️ Happy New Year Jared & Jordan 🥳🥳 so excited for 2023, and this journey with you guys!!!

Skyblue00

It gets better and never stops. 🤷🏻‍♀️💜 Happy New Years, Jared n Jordan. May this next year bring you joy, happiness, good health and prosperity!

shelby🖤

what captivates me about tae’s performance is his acting. it felt like he was in pain to me when he sang this. i could feel it through the screen. he’s not over acting or anything either. it’s all so subtle and he uses his voice to express it a lot. he does this every time he performs too. it’s so amazing to watch. there’s a reason younger idols study him when he performs.

Madi

I just realized that they eliminated the rise of Bangtan. We will be left without Jared and Jordan reacting to it.🥺

LizP⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷

Thanks guys for this reaction video. I love Stigma and this performance which I usually follow with House of Cards. A M A Z I N G!!!!!! I notice Tae's mouth when he hits that high note and goes from oooooh to aaaahhhh. It just get me every time 😍😍

LibLady26

Happy New Year, Jared & Jordan! This is only the beginning--V's voice is multi-octave and unique. You'll see how this song fits when you get to the BT Universe. (For more info on the BT Universe, check out xCeleste's story explanations, as well as thebtseffect.com/bu-starterguide. The "rabbit hole" gets deeper! (Once a librarian, always a librarian!)

korgi

happy new year j&j!! i'm so glad you got to finally react to this song, it's so beautiful and you get to hear the different colors in tae's voice and how wide his vocal range is. it's a perfect song for any and every wether, for winter, fall, spring, summer, when you're on a walk, when you're sitting down and having coffee or hot chocolate while you're looking out the window, when you're at the park, just even in any scenario it's a beautiful song to listen to. i love this song, it might be one of my favorite solo songs taehyung has put out..

TM

happy new year Jared and Jordan from NZ. I really appreciate you guys finally reacting to this masterpiece by V. I have been waiting for this and thank you. First, I am glad that you got to hear and experience the variety of colors and vocal tones this man has. V is indeed the baritone of the group but he can also go the highest. The thing that captivated me regarding V and stigma is his ability to make u feel the song by the way he sings it and how he sing it. I hoped that you had dived into a video that showcase this man's stage presence because it is studied by many idols for a reason. V has the voice and presence to command the stage no matter what he does. RM also said that out of all of the songs in that album, stigma is the only song he doesn't know for sure about the meaning behind the lyrics, only V does. This song made Taehyung my bias because it shows me how much talent this man has and what else is he hiding under that existence. This man is crazy talented overall and I hope you will react to his other solo songs and also other bts contents, overall looking forward to your reactions and thank you for your hard work. Here's to a good and exciting new year! Borahae

KyCe7_

Happy new year Jared & Jordan! hope you are recovering well.. so happy you finally heard this masterpiece. this was my fave Tae solo ‘cause you can feel the depth of the emotion in it.. Wings is one of my fave BTS album (although i love them all) ‘cause of the range of story telling in the songs included. Their solos there are some of their best imo. can’t wait til you dip into the BU.. you will def love them more.. Wishing you both happiness and good health this year. I hope you find joy in the things you do. 💜

Eitan

Happy new year guys!

J-Lee

Happy new year mah FAVE brothers!! And hope you fully recover soonesttt!! 💜 I don't know why but I always get emotional and teary-eyed when I hear this song. It's true that it's part of a story line but most of the lyrics are quite personal too. So the emotions that Tae put into this was just incredible 😭 Tae or V was my first bias in BTS. So I know him as much as I know Jin (my current ultimate bias) as V was the first member I stan-ed sooo eagerly. I love him to the core, maybe more than the rest of the members sometimes so I am always emotional when he sings, cries or laugh 😭🤧💜 I hope you guys conclude the JinVember by a video too of the two together. I know you have a lot lined up but I really hope you'll still do EVEN IF I DIE, IT'S DEFINITELY YOU by V and Jin. Also the two's great relationship together, HOW SEOKJIN LOVES TAEHYUNG AND BACK by Jinnie Films / Jinnie Eats. Please do one last JinVember vid 🥹🙏 Hehe, thanks mah FAVE brothers!! And happy new year again! Happy to have found you guys this year. You both became a great part of my Bangtan life this year!! May we all have a more blessed 2023!! Borahae 💜

Yani

happy new year!!! I cant wait til you hear the vocal line in "truth untold" and "house of cards"... such R&B vibes and the lyrics and their voices ugh its beautiful!!!

Addie Jupiter

By the way that was RM’s voice saying “are you calling me a sinner”.

Angie7

You asked what we thought watching this? When he hit that high note my 1st thought was and this guy was goin to the audition to support a friend? Can you imagine if he hadn’t gone with him that day we would not have our V our precious Kim Taehyung💜💜

Habiba

i'm sorry.. but i have 2 complaints… i hate to ruin the mood but it's the new year and i decided to not swallow my feelings anymore, Lmao. honestly, i subscribed to the Patreon channel because of the rise of Bangtan early access, but its been two month since we even had that. like.. it's a lot of time between episode. don't get me wrong i love the other contents, but i thought we would at least have one or two Ep a month… my second complaint is about the 21 dollars contents.. at the end of the day you guy's do what you want and no one can force you but if any content would have to be that pricey, i would think that it would be BTS actual paid content, like bon voyage or in the Soop. or even concerts. but BTS Proof live?.. like we all got it for free on YouTube, same for the interview.. again Im sorry for complaining but it was just my humble opinion. i know it won't change anything on you guy's point of view but I thought that maybe you would be interested in what one of your patrons have to say. i kind of feel left out. EDIT: well now we will never get to watch it with you, because the entire series got deleted from Youtube. great, we could have been done with it so long ago.. i will head out now, sorry HAPPY NEW YEAR tho

Lorena Walker

The Rise of Bangtan has been removed from YouTube and it’s own website by its creator. I’m not sure how they are going to get around that.

Bri
>>98767826

WHAT?! Damnn i wanted to watch that until 2025 damn

dyxqdthyfv

Please react to the rise series more often

Beckyboo⁷

As good as The Rise of Bangtan series was. The guys are releasing their own documentary series this year, which will surpass that as it is what they want to say about their career. Throughout the years, the guys vlogs and vlives are accessible so I wouldn't worry, there is plenty of content for us to revisit and the twins to watch.

BTSAngel777

Jared, as a V-ias, I completely understand what you feel when witnessing his ability to pierce our soul. V-EAUTIFUL 💜

Sharebear

That may be THE question! I don't know that it really does get better than this... I am a Jimin ultimate-bias but sonically V just does things that nobody else can do. He is a work of art. I can't even imagine that man as a farmer...so glad the fates brought him into the world for us all to see and hear.

Kirssy Mago

One of my fav songs from V. I love it.
