actually BTS or any idol or celleb does not often take pictures with fans. only other cellebs. i think it´s because of dating rumors. but also because of the reasons you said. lets say Rm takes a picture with a girl people will think they are dating. and if they do take pictures they never touch the girls. even taylor swift took pictures with them without touching them hehe. Halsey is the only one who became their friend, and they hug her when they see her. I think Suga might have a new collab with her on his album. you haven´t watched Jimins performance of save me pt 2 or his acustic version of like crazy it´s so good

BTS don't take photos with people they meet on the street because Bighit forbids them from doing so. This "no picture" rule exists for multiple reasons. The first one being, as Jordan mentioned, to prevent having their location leaked and some of the content they're filming, but it's also a security thing. I don't know if you've ever heard of them but there are some very obsessive fans, in kpop they're called "saseangs" these so-called "fans" are very extreme, they often stalk the members by following them around, going to their house and buying plane/train tickets next to them to be sitting close to them. They're not only very scary but can also be dangerous. Since, in situations like this, BTS can't know for sure if the fan is just a normal person or a saseang they prefer not to take any risk and refuse every pictures.

so the boys can travel mostly. we, as army, have a rule that basically says if you see them irl, no you didn't. sometimes people will go up quickly and say hi but for the most part, we just ignore them completely when they're on private schedules. army will find a way to say hey sometimes without disturbing or causing a scene like a barista once let a note on joon's coffee cup. he found it really sweet and even posted about it on Instagram. we use to be incredibly good at it too. they would spend days in other countries and we wouldn't find out until either they said something or months later when army would finally mention it somewhere. they still can mostly, but some people in specific countries have been causing a lot of problems lately. it's also usually newer fans and the general public that don't respect this rule. the best place for this is usually America. like when jimin went to NY for fallon, the only reason we even knew was because k media leaked his flight information. if they hadn't, we wouldn't have known until people at the live recording for the show mentioned it. also, they're a little more okay with photos now. it seems like it's less of a rule by the company and more open too the boys to decide for themselves.

Hii, a 22 year-old army here from Stockholm, Sweden!! So I was born and raised in Stockholm, and thought I might give you guys a little explanation about Gamla Stan 😁. So if you would translate Gamla Stan to english, the direct translation of that would be ’Old town’, and that's basically what it is! Gamla stan is an island with cobbled streets and colorful buildings (as you saw in the episode), from the 17th and 18th centuries (hence the given name ’Gamla Stan’). It's one of Europe's largest and best-preserved medival city centers with places like the Stockholm Cathedral and the Royal Palace, which is the royal family's public residence. There is also a lot of restaurants in Gamla stan that serve traditional Swedish dishes with local ingredients; the classical everyday Swedish cuisine. So Gamla Stan is all in all a very popular place that tourists tend to visit whenever they're here! As for the shoot the members were talking about, they had a photoshoot in Sweden back in 2014 during their first ever fanmeeting that they held in Europe, US and South America! So that photoshoot was held in Gamla Stan and was accompanied by lyrics from War of Hormone. Hope this helped a lil 😅 Love the reactions, keep em coming! Lots of love from Sweden!! 💜

Holding up your hand when crossing the road is a common thing taught to kids in east Asian countries. It is basically for kids because they are small in height and the cars drivers might not see them so it's better if kids cross the road with their hand up

When JK was in Qatar he kept on taking pics with everyone, that was because he was there for the FIFA world cup aka a public schedule and everybody knew about it. However, if he was there for private schedules, fans would have avoided disturbing him because it will cause a disruption and also ruin his trip and own time

Nowadays the members are more comfortable taking pics with everyone when vising restaurants or other public places, but they still prefer leaving autographs instead

Great that there's another episode of BV. That cruise they went on is really amazing. Unfortunately, I haven't tried that yet however, my Mom and my Aunt went to that very same cruise for her birthday years ago. From the videos and photos she had taken, it's really something else. It's like a huge, floating hotel with shops, restaurants, casino, a bar, spa...etc. I wish I could experience a cruise some day. Great reaction as always guys. Borahae 🤗

So, you mentioned about a good travel story. Well, I do have one. 😅 It's isn't entirely wonderful and fun though. It was quite an experience! It started as fun, then exhilarating, turned chaotic and nerve-racking. Finally, was a relief. So here's my travel story. I love to travel. To experience something unique but mostly it's my version of therapy. Whenever I do though, I always plan ahead. Everything is prepared. I even bring an envelope with me to make sure that all my papers are safe. Because of this, my family and friends challenged me to travel without any plans at all. To just pick a place, pack and go to whereever I feel like going. So I took it; and with the company of my 2 buddies, our trip to the unknown began. It started amazing and fun. We arrived to the place where we chose and asked the locals for guidance. Of course, they would direct us to their tourist spots. Even shared which buses to take and good hotels to stay at. With that, we were able to swim with whales, lounge on the beach with a drink in hand looking at the crystal blue sea, canoe on lakes, felt the rush while river rafting, dived on waterfalls, hiked on mountains and even visited historical buildings. We were almost at the end of our journey when I overheard about a volcano that has a great hiking trail. I loved the thought of seeing it. So I immediately asked for directions. We then took the bus to go there. While on the bus, me and my friends received curious stares but we ignored it. I would at times take pictures or videos of the scenery that we passed by. There were moments that I would turn around and see that some passengers were looking at us. The bus ride continued and I felt that the road is going up, so we were like climbing a mountain. All that we can see at that point were trees, cliffs and more trees. Then I felt the bus stop, I wondered if we arrived, but I couldn't see any houses or buildings though. We stopped because there was a check point. It was then that I noticed the military trucks and men in uniform carrying large weapons. I thought we entered a warzone. It actually felt like one. Apparently, we entered an area where a rebel group is heavily active and has been known to kill and kidnap people. They wouldn't touch the locals though but they would if tourists. It explained the stares that we got. To make it worse, we heard that 2 foreigners were presumed to be kidnapped by that rebel group just recently. 😣 When the military saw our trio, I could really feel their nervousness because of our presence. And because of that, I had the "pleasure" of riding their truck and be escorted to their camp. It was an experience indeed to be eating and sleeping in their company. When morning came, we again rode in their truck so we can be brought to the nearest city and was told to never come back to that place. Of course we hightailed out of there and went home as soon as we can. I think I was only able to take a huge sigh of relief upon entering my home. Never again! 🙅 Never again will I not make my advance research to where I will be going. 😅

They refuse pictures because they can't give away their locations for safety reasons, and can't give out spoilers for the Bon Voyage episodes. So if it's filming schedules and someone comes up to them for pictures, they'll refuse. They're still nowhere near famous overseas at this point but some can recognize them because they originally know of 'Kpop'

Yes they were on the ship Jordan. A cruise ship is like a mini city..it's mind blowing. My dad had aways wanted to visit Scandinavia so after he came to live with us I took him on a cruise. We sailed from England and visited all the Capital cities of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia and Denmark. This Bon Voyage season brings back so many great memories to me of that cruise. Not a joke...poor RM couldn't get a visa to carry on with the guys. So sad for him. Thanks for reacting.

That is so sad they can’t take pics with Army….that would be such a special moment to have….but I do get why they can’t…After watching JK Vlive while he was quarantined in Vegas for the Grammys and someone kept calling his cell phone with a creepy ringtone…he told them “if your watching please stop!”but they didn’t and staff came and got his phone….and then more recently when JK was at his gym and a bunch of fans we’re waiting and followed him home…he was very upset….BUT HE STILL loved Army and tried to make it right by turning on Vlive after and saying I came on because you wanted to see me and I appreciate it but you can’t seek me out basically as I’m trying to live life…it’s so scary I’m worried this behavior will make them disillusioned with Army..which would be understandable 💜💜as he said I am human.I think for the most part it’s that they are genuinely loved and not from crazed fan perspective …BTS has created a special relationship with their fans that other Artists can only dream of…it’s different!

I am from Costa Rica and I would like to clarify that Costa Rica is not a jungle hahahaha, of course we have incredible forests and jungles with beautiful flora and fauna but not all of Costa Rica is like that, for some people it may be obvious but for others they may think that all of Costa Rica can be a jungle and you can see animals and jaguars everywhere, but it is not like that, it is quite common for people to ask me "and what is it like to live with monkeys nearby?" like it's completely normal to see monkeys everywhere you go hahahahaha it's actually funny

Love to watch Bon Voyage with you! 💜 37:21 JK was heavy into photography in the beginning of BTS‘ career. He even posted some of his pics for fans on social media. Over time, he got interested in filming and uploaded his videos on BTS’ youtube channel BANGTANTV. The videos are named “g.c.f.“ and all of them are filmed, directed and edited by JK himself. The videos are in vlog style, so you can experience BTS traveling through the eyes of JK. I highly recommend to watch all of them. Just a sidenote, if you watch the gcf in Newark, please watch it on the channel Bangtan Subs with English subs. I recommend to watch them in order in one go to see his progress or you watch just one after each Bon Voyage episode. The videos are short and just 7 in total. Fun fact: g.c.f. means golden closet film. JK’s first studio was literally in a closet when he started to be interested in filming, songwriting and producing because BTS’ old apartment was too small. He mentioned in some behind the scenes that golden closet film refers to his first studio in a closet and golden is derived from his title as a golden maknae. oh my goodness. y’all using my travel story is hilarious. JARED- the reason i thought it was a moth was because i had my flashlight on and it was dark and only saw the shadow and how it was flying around lol. but YES our high school does culture trips every 4 years where we go to a different country (or countries) and learn about their culture. my youngest sister is going this summer to Paris, Rome, and Venice. but the wildlife and the nature in Costa Rica is beautiful. the country has 3 types of rainforests in it. we saw so much. the go pro was ON and because it can automatically connect to the phone to save videos we have the video lol. we saw Macaws, Howler Monkeys, 2 Toed Sloths, Tucans and so much more. it was so cool. and if i had the chance to go to Costa Rica with BTS i’d pay ALL THE MONEY. EVERY CENT I HAVE. so happy that y’all read my travel story. much love 💜

The cruises here in Sweden are sooo fun to be on. It’s quite common to go on a cruise to Finland to just be on the cruise and then be in Helsinki for a few hours to just take the cruise back. It’s almost as if the main event is the cruise, not actually being in Finland. And like you saw the cruises are huuuge. Basically a hotel on water. They have stores, restaurants, bars, clubs. A lot of students go on cruises just to get completely wasted and party. Suuuuper fun. Gamla stan is really beautiful and I love it soo much. It means “old town” in Swedish and that’s exactly what it is. A lot of the buildings are from the medieval era which is absolutely crazy. And I love that it’s located in the middle of Stockholm which is more or less really modern looking. It’s like new meets old and I really love that!! If you ever go to sweden you should definitely check it out! There’s not much to do there other than to look at buildings but it’s so beautiful so that doesn’t bother me. I’ve lived in Stockholm all my life and I still go to gamla stan all the time to just walk around!

I think they dont take photos because if it gets posted it leaks their location and the fact that they're filming new unreleased content, especially because prior to this time fans didn't know about bon voyage.

I read an interview recently with the manager of their favorite restaurant in LA (someone remind of the name). The interviewer asked if fans screamed and asked for pictures whenever the guys were there. The manager said, no, that instead ARMYs just freeze. The interviewer was surprised that no asks for photos, he said he would. The manager said they found it touching that ARMYs respect the guys private time. I think we are ,for the most part, a fandom that loves them and therefore respects their privacy and space. Just MHO, but I think that is the best way to express our love for them if we are ever lucky enough to see them out and about. Of course, I would probably faint, so asking for photos or screaming would not be an option while I'm unconscious.

Another fun, chaotic and somewhat bittersweet/sad episode! Poor Namjoon! And the beginning of the hilarious and iconic Hobi ‘Important Businessue’. Also It’s actually a common thing in K-pop for agencies to have a no photo rule. That’s because there has been many famous cases where photos taken with fans, have been used and then photoshopped to create fake dating rumours on online platforms and to spread malicious gossip by anti’s and saesang (stalker) fans, It actually happened to many many artists from different kpop agencies over the years including to JK before this particular Bon voyage series was filmed too. Where people took/stole photos uploaded by a fan from their social media profile and spread it online with a fake label of a photo of JK with a past gf. While JK’s one was soon debunked, it still creates unnecessary and malicious gossip. The other reason for a no photo rule is to maintain a low profile when filming, so as to one, maintain safety (crucial) but two, maintain an element of surprise for fans for the location. In Dec 2022 Tae was filming for Jinny’s Kitchen (wonderful variety show available on Amazon prime worldwide including the US and airing now) in Mexico. The only reason people and k-media found out about it is because someone uploaded a clip of Tae and the cast of the show on social media before the official announcement. In other BV seasons in New Zealand, most Kiwi ARMY used a code-word when talking about BTS filming on social media so as to not alert the general public and media. Bighit is particularly strict about no photos (Jk said in his camping log vlive that he doesn’t mind but the agency does. Hence why he chose to take pics with fans in Qatar) Bighit also has a lot of rules for correct protocol. For example it’s ok to take a pic of a member in a public part of the airport (i.e the entrance - although they still prefer fans not to go there) but not in areas for passengers-only like through the gates, on the plane or in transit etc. Anyone who does is blacklisted by the company. Most ARMY now understand that unless it’s a company schedule announced by the company, or the members attending a public event in private like a concert (like the billie eilish concert Namjoon and Hobi went to, or the football match Hobi and Jimin went to, Or the Harry Styles concert Namjoon, Yoongi and Tae and JK went to) or the musical (Tae, JK and their friends recently went to) to only take pics in public areas and where it’s a public setting. How ever it is better to respectfully not take pics or only share the pics from the members in public areas only ideally after a public announcement. Most ARMY try to respect the members privacy. It’s learning to differentiate between a public setting and event vs their private life/schedule. The big no no is following members and taking pictures of them in their private time like grocery shopping etc or a horrific recent example of people following JK and taking a pic of JK while he was at the gym in his private time. When Hobi and His family, and Tae and his family had a vacation in Hawaii in Dec 2021 but no-one posted photos etc (rightfully so) when Tae eventually posted his pics after his return he thanked local Hawaiian ARMY for pretending not to know them etc. Also Bighit has a contract with Dispatch and other media. Media is told in advance of their travel plans (usually only that the member will be travelling through the airport) for official work schedules like overseas photoshoots, interviews etc but not for their private travel plans. So almost 98% of the time if media are there in advance, it’s because it is a work schedule. There are some very very rare exceptions though. Although it is also unfortunately common for airline and travel staff to sell or access their travel itinerary illegally like the horrific example of Namjoon’s privacy being invaded that made S.K news recently where a rail staff (thank fully now fired) who accessed his information and told people where he would be sitting etc. Back to this ep. You missed it in the subtitles but Tae doesn’t drink Beer. He stated that he can’t drink beer and it was in the subs but easily missed and he asked if he could have a strawberry juice instead. When the beer arrived he cheersed with it but then passed it to staff, they then brought him a coke. This time when the coke arrived, the subs didn’t put that the members said it’s because he can’t drink beer. He said recently in a live he’s only drank beer 3/4times in his life. You will see in other content while others drink, he normally has a coke. He also doesn’t like or drink coffee at all and until recently didn’t like alcohol (apart from a small amount of fruit soju and occasionally wine) and only drank very very rarely. It’s known that he has a low tolerance too. More recently he said in interviews he likes whisky and in promotional interviews for Jinny’s kitchen he said he likes a bit of tequila but even now he drinks alcohol mixed with a lot of soda water (during festa 2022 it went viral because k-army joked that he drinks water with a splash of whisky, when comparing the colour of his whiskey glass to other members) and in Jinny’s kitchen when others are drinking he has fruit juice or fizzy drinks like cola etc instead. Yoongi and Jimin have a very good alcohol tolerance esp Jimin. The others have said they are similar in their tolerance. Jin on Yoonji’s show also said the same. Their festa 2018 dinner where they drink is hilarious. 💜

P.s members who used to be very serious with their photography and widely known for it with their own proper cameras hence why they were captioned as members of the photography club in the subs: were Yoongi, Tae and JK (JK also has his GCF) Tae didn’t bring his film camera in this season but he does for others. JK and Yoongi have also taken official photographs for the members. Tae used to post his under the name Vante on their social media. But his camera was an old fashioned film camera. Fun fact, the cover photos on the soundcould releases of Jimin’s ‘Promise’, his own releases and JK’s cover 2U are portraits taken by Tae and credited to him as Vante ( a mix of V and his favourite photographer Ante Bazim). Hobi went through a famous Polaroid phase, and Jimin used to like to take fun photos with his phone etc.

fun fact: Gamla stan literally means "old town" and it's an area in Stockholm. I live further down in Sweden and have never visited the city but I hear it's beautiful.

Jared you asked why you have to hold up your hand while crossing the street. Well many Asian countries young kids raise their hand while crossing so the drivers can see the pedestrians more easily. They do this specially when they see the light is turning back red and they are still crossing or if there is no light at all. In some countries like Finland we also raise a hand to drivers who stops and let the pedestrians cross the road to say thank you. it's a small gesture to show gratitude towards the driver who stop for you. I don't know if JK were thinking one of these things when he was crossing.

I watched a program (located in Japan) where young children were sent on errands. When they cross the street they raise their hand to signal to traffic they are crossing. Maybe JKs joke was that they looked like children. Just seeing them walking around free! Most of the people on the street have no idea! Passers by kick themselves in the leg now.
