it was Jimin who comforted Suga on stage. itยดs almost always jimin

leat

I loved this mixtape but one of my favorite song of his is actually a part of wings album as his own solo song. and itยดs on the same level as the last. itยดs called first love. when you see him perform you can feel every emotion. itยดs so haunting to watch. so i hope you react to that too since he might perform that at the concert

Cheryl โท Lambert

Itโ€™s rare to see anyone, let alone someone with this level of fame, rip open their soul for the world to see all their perceived weaknesses, failures, faults, self doubts, pain and despair. To expose yourself to this degree and show that you have come out the other side with hope, dreams, self awareness and compassion is mind blowing to me. Min Yoongi is one of the most authentic, raw and honest human being on this planet. This takes guts!! Itโ€™s a masterpiece. Thanks guys for your through, heartfelt reaction to this amazing manโ€™s story. Iโ€™ll visit the museum with you both anytime. Love you both so much ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Heather โท

LOVED this so much, SUGA/AGUST D & MIN YOOGI is an amazing human. By the way that was Jimin with Suga, BTS's comfort fairy he is always there when any member is upset.

Kathyโท

Thank you for being open about your struggles with anxiety. I just wanted you to know that it's really appreciated and doesn't go unnoticed. I can relate and sharing about it is hard. I'm so glad you finally got to this. You got to see more than just a badass rapper. When you first see BTS, Suga comes across as cool and a little cold and tough. When you really get to know him, through his lyrics, you see that he is so much more than that. He is truly a special person. The strength is takes to demonstrate the level of vulnerability that Yoongi puts into his music, is something that I am unable to comprehend. He seems so comfortable and content in himself these days and knowing where he comes from, makes this such a beautiful thing to see. I can't wait for your next reaction and of course for D2 to drop. Sending lots of love to you guys as always!! Borahae!

Yas

aahhh just finished watching, again really amazing how you guys deep dive into the lyrics and get to know yoongi on a deeper level!! i really recommend catching up on his suchwita episodes when you have time ofc. he often talks about his personal history and experiences but also bts'. thank u, sending much love!

Chris Augustine

I just want to say that The Last gets more powerful the more you listen to it and So Far Away gets more beautiful and serene. Listen to the Last with headphones in the dark and you can feel the rawness in his voice. I am not a proficient Korean speaker by any means but you were talking about the line in So far Away, I think KKumi means dream and itdamyeon is from the verb i-sseo-yo to have + Myeon (if) so If I have. Korean speakers, correct me if I am wrong.

Kath Chooโท

I enjoyed and loved every single bit of this reaction video. Can't wait for treasure number 2 XD

Didi

The fact that he chose to be forthright to his fans speaks not only to his character but his love and respect for his fans as well. What a breathtaking, vulnerable, honest album. And an odd choice of words on my part but I find the strength in Yoongiโ€™s character so stunning. I have so much respect and admiration for him. ๐Ÿ’œ

Didi

And your reaction is, as always, GOLD. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Kath Chooโท

๊ฟˆ(kkum) means dream, the ์ด(i) is the subject particle. Spot on for the meaning of ์žˆ๋‹ค๋ฉด (itamyeon), and ์žˆ์–ด์š”(isseoyo) stems from the basic form ์žˆ๋‹ค (itda).

Chris Augustine

Thanks. I have been self studying so thank you for clarifying.

Kath Chooโท

You're doing really well :) Keep it up! ์•„์ž ์•„์ž ํŒŒ์ดํŒ…!

Zoe Del Toro

724148 is legit my favorite Yoongi song, it's so UNDERRATED

doiley3

Thank you for the beautiful reaction! That last video is so powerful. Yoongi actually pursued music against his parents' wishes, and they didn't support his dream at first. That's why he gets so emotional when he sees them supporting him in the audience.

Kecia โท

I'm always impressed by Yoongi's brutal honesty. The Last hits me hard everytime. Thanks for taking a deep dive into this mixtape. It's really special.

Eternity 7

Are you guys going to ever listen to "hope world"???

kdeMC

I just wanted to share that I developed sociophobia. I avoided social interactions at all costs and it was so weird because I used to be an extroverted person. I knew something was off but I never really looked into it. I avoided people, lost all my friends, and isolated myself in my college dorm. I was alone for a while and then I discovered BTS. I like hip-hop. When I realized they had rappers, I dug deeper into their work. This album made me realize I had anxiety. For the first time, I went to counseling and they diagnosed me with Social Anxiety Disorder (more commonly known as social phobia). I've come a long way since then. Actually, literally today, I talked to my therapist and I might not need therapy anymore or as often. Then, someone randomly came up to me today and we had lunch together. Today has been a full-circle experience. This album guided me into therapy and out. I'm so happy and thankful for BTS and ARMY.

Silvia R

I am a Chicken Noodle Soup ARMY, Hobi was the one who piqued my interest and made me curious enough to check the rest of the band. Not even 2 weeks after discovering BTS I came across the Agust D mixtape and being someone who has suffered of Depression and social anxiety for more that a decade I felt like finally somebody understood what I was going through. Many times I tried to explain my family and close friends what I felt during my very bad days but I just didnโ€™t have the words to describe it but itโ€™s like Min fucking Yoongi ripped the words out of my soul and made them flow on his sick beats. The first time I listened to The Last I cried my eyes and heart out because I could relate even with the scene he describes about the psychiatrist, my mom said the same thing about me. And yes, when you go to a psychiatrist one of the very first questions they ask you is if you ever tried to commit you know whatโ€ฆ Anyway, that day I cried for me because finally I felt understood and I cried for him too because I knew he was going through the same horrible things I was. So after that cathartic and liberating experience of just let myself cry as much as I needed, I just knew I would support this group of amazing human beings no matter what for a loooong time if not for the rest of my life. Another song that touch deep into my soul is First Love, Yoongi said he cried so much while recording and he decided to leave that part because it felt more raw and real. Canโ€™t wait for you guys to check it out.

Laurie Brennanโท

Just finished watching your reaction and it was so good. I am so glad you got to the letter. I feel like that is the single most important piece of content I ever came across that made me feel like I understood Yoongi better. It would have been so easy for him to just let the narrative that he didn't perform because of "nausea" stand and be done with it. Instead he felt he owed ARMY an explanation. I have never seen another artist be so raw and open with their fandom, knowing how many haters they have who would just love to mock them and twist their words, it's brave. This is all the more powerful knowing that mental health issues are really not addressed in Korea like they are in the west, again...bravery.

Katherine Cordero

Hey, guys thank you for today's reaction! His music has a big space in my heart and it has made me feel less alone when I feel like I'm sinking. I relate to Yoongi in so many aspects, from our personalities to our struggles. It's so weird to think about since I'm from Mexico and he's from South Korea and he is also 12 years older than me. Every day I hope he and the rest of the members feel happier for everything they have done for me and I thank them for saving me 2 years ago. Anyways, I'm also very thankful to you two, I know have something to look forward to three times a week. Sometimes I get back home from University and I get the Patreon notification and I can't help but smile. I hope I can continue to watch your journey with BTS and can't wait to experience new things with them.

Laurie Brennanโท

What a great story. Congratulations on coming full circle. That must have been so scary and required so much work on your part.

Steph

Hahahah, ainโ€™t no way Iโ€™m in the same museum as THE Agust D ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I loved this!!! Yoongiโ€™s lyricism wilI always get me. He always finds a way to tell a story. Whenever I read his lyrics, I have such a clear image in my head of what he means. He always paints the perfect picture and is so good at explaining emotions that I donโ€™t even know how to identify!! I canโ€™t wait for you guys to get into D-2!!!!! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ

Jess Horton

I thought of you before they even said it

Jess Horton

The editing in the reaction, next level! The opening instrumental (give it to me) sends my imagination to a hamster on a wheel. It's fiddly (playing the fiddle) little feet moving fast. He's gaining ground while the rest slack off. Connecting to Suga/AgustD and who he is more and more. The island wants visitors...maybe not every day but definitely sometimes. And that's what BTS does. solo or group. They speak for us, and they have saved so many souls because they could vocalize what listeners couldn't express and they're not alone (the last) Dream & Manifesto will resurface..

Skylar Tโท

Whilst JK is my bias, Agust D makes me feel the most. I relate to him the most of all the members bc of social anxiety, depression and being misunderstood as cold even though I'm a softy inside. I was looking forward to this reaction as I had yet to hear the mixtape in its entirety, but I was not expecting to cry so much, especially during the lyrics breakdown of 724148 and The Last. Agust D is simply an amazing producer and lyricist.

Veronica Mโท

I absolutely loved this. Thank you! Today on Suchwita...Suga had two members from TXT (Tomorrow X Together) on his show Episode 8. They said they were at that concert when he started crying...They asked him about it...Suga spoke about how it came about and how he was feeling at that time. BTW, that was Jimin kneeling by Suga as he was kneeling on the ground. You guys should watch Episode 7 of Suchwita with Jimin it's my favorite episode so far. Thanks again. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Hanaโท

I love how you try to pick out Korean words from the lyrics :) You picked out the wrong word though, the word for dream is the one before that, ๊ฟˆ (kkum) :) I learned that from the lyrics of Young Forever ๐Ÿ˜„ ์žˆ์•„๋ฉด (itdamyeon) is the "if you have"/"if there is" part of the sentence :) sentence structure in Korean is very different.

Aparna

Ahhhhh, at the end there when Suga was crying, it was Jimin leaning over him, trying to comfort him. But yes, this mixtape and Suga in general has this ability to gut-punch me with everything he does... I just wanna preface this by saying that I hate comparing the rappers in BTS (and I would never do it), but when I say Suga is my favourite, it isn't because I think he's better than the other two. It's because of the way he raps, his cadence and raw emotion resonate with me on another level. I find his passion practically tangible through both his lyrics and music. โ€จโ€จ Btw that censor/beep you heard in THE LAST is a reference to attempted/contemplated suicide. Usually when in therapy the first thing you're asked is if you've ever tried/thought of harming yourself...and Suga basically says he's been there before. Im glad you guys caught that, cuz mental health is a pretty taboo subject in SK, isn't talked about much, especially not at the time of this mixtapes release). Suga took a very courageous step in opening himself up to ARMY. Yoongi's lyrics practically bleed his entire life story, he's cut himself open and left his hanging carcass for people to poke and prod at and that alone makes him one of the strongest people.

Steph

Please also react to his solo songs in BTS for its gonna be both an Agustd and Suga concert ๐Ÿ˜…

fran

I just always cry when I hear The Last. I loved the video and the editing is amazing as always!

Well J&j you can put this in the top 5 reactions jar. CHEF'S ๐Ÿ’‹. ๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿ”ฅ Poweful. Quick fyi 140503 is a date โœ” I'll never forget going down the rabbit hole of the rapline. Delving deep into their mixtapes. 1st RM the AgustD then Jhope. Each discovery in complete awe. Honestly? Still am. The talent is elite. AgustD brings truth honest .... raw.. brutal ... lung stealing ... sharing all his pain His perseverance His cut throat spitting ... Rewatching this with you two has been enlightening.. I kept thinking how much he has grown matured HE HAS BEEN FUKN BLOOMING FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. So proud of him. Proud to "know" him, to have him in my life. His journey has been a ride we are fortunate to of been invited on. Thank you J&j for this. ๐ŸŒŒ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’ซ Ps plz include his solo work for BTS Seesaw, Interlude: Shadow, First Love

Mi_chou__

Hii J&J thank you for your reaction the new Suchwita episode is out and itโ€™s with members of their junior group TXT you need to watch it was such a wholesome episode they talk about a lot of things in the past txt being the only one who can really understand their hardships cause they were with them as trainees just speak at itself. Even V posted an Instagram stories of the episode captioned something like โ€œ weโ€™re indeed familyโ€ hope youโ€™ll check it out thanksโค๏ธ

Lauren H.

Amazing reaction, guys. About the clip at the end: Yoongi has said his parents did not support him trying to be a rapper at first (and you can see other difficulties b/w them in the Last when he says his parents told the doctor they don't even know him now that he's struggling) so he was ovrecome when they showed their support by coming to the concert. He is crying in emotion, but there is also a cultural aspect -- he is kneeling and bowing to his parents to show his deepest respect/gratitude for them. The person next to him is Jimin--unsurprisingly, since Jiminie is always on alert when his members need comfort.

Mimi

Amazing reaction as always. Thank you for being vulnerable with us as well. The Last and So Far Away make me cry, and honestly, I'm a 2019 ARMY and it was hard for me to get into Agust D the mixtape at the start. Because I'd heard it talked about his struggles and I was going through something similar, I felt like it would hit too close to home. I got to listen to it sometime after when I was feeling better, and it always struck me how incredibly brave Yoongi was for doing this. Talking about his anxiety and the things that hurt takes SO MUCH and for him to share that with us... I can't imagine having to immerse yourself in all that pain all over again. But he did. And the more I get to know BTS and especially Yoongi whether as Agust D or Suga, I'll always appreciate how brave he was (all of them) for dreaming. To be as young as he was to know what he wanted to be and to work and fight so hard for it takes so much courage. I remember he said before that being an idol allows his message to reach more people than if he was an underground rapper. I'll forever be thankful that he and RM chose this path bc then they were able to share their hearts and minds and pains and hope with us. If they stayed underground, we wouldn't be having any of this. Super excited for you to dig into D-2! You'll note the tone and sound change and that makes me so curious to see how D-Day will sound like. I already know it's gonna heal me ๐Ÿ’œ but also, like others have said, check his BTS solo songs as well!

Thank you for this very deep dive into AgustD's first Mixtape. As I told you in my letter, I felt for him bc of his raw, emotional lyrics. I struggle with depression since I'm 25 and last year I had my very first panic attack during a course at the dentist. I'll never forget the helplessness and anxiety in this moment. Suga always find the right words to descripe his feelings. He really is a genius. I didn't knew his letter to Army, there is no other artist in the world who would do that. As some others mentioned please watch the Suchwita Episode with txt and IU's Palette Episode with him. It's fascinating to watch like he can't have eyecontact with IU in the beginning and later he became more and more open. There also is an interview Suga did with Agust D on Disney+ Korea. ๐Ÿ™‚ Can't wait to watch your reaction to D-2! ๐Ÿซฐ Borahae!

I really loved your reaction. I can't help myself but cry when hearing The Last. It is so heartbreaking. But I'm happy that Yoongi is happy now. AgustD is genius bruh.

Les

Agust D is always a hard mixtape to listen to when you realize the context of the lyrics. Yoongi is incredibly brave for talking about his struggles and also, wow he trusts us so much with his story. Its kinda crazy to think that many artists hide their struggles and here's yoongi offering his story to us. Freely. It brings me to tears every time i realize that. And to reference what Yoongis letter was about, you'll hear him say similar things about ARMY in the other docuseries they have. He understands the ridicule, struggles, battles armys go through. And he's empathetic, never condensing nor belitting to his fans, which they know are predominantly young women. All this combines to the root of why ARMYs go so hard for the members: its mutual love and respect. Cant wait for D2.

mkreuz

Yes!,

Actually. The STD in Agust D makes sense like he's saying don't fuck with him. Because people don't fuck with people with sexually transmitted diseases right? So yeah it's still a clever little wordplay.

I LOVED THIS REACTION!โค๏ธ

Hi Great reaction!!! i lol on the police skit ๐Ÿ˜‚. Please please watch suga in IU palette show but watch jhopeโ€™s iu palette first the sugaโ€™s. You can do it in once reaction. Youโ€™ll be amazed on yoongiโ€™s live vocals there.

Daniela

My yoongi ๐Ÿ˜ญ I always find myself crying a little while cooking, or while driving just remembering what he went through, wishing I could turn back time and be born again in his country, in 1993 and be his friend, be the shoulder where he could cry, be a good friend to him๐Ÿ˜ข My heart is so soft for him, my ultimate bias โค๏ธ I can only wish for him to be happy, and he looks like he is happy and in peace now, he looks so healthy and beautiful Iโ€™m just so happy for him and canโ€™t wait to see him in Los Angeles, for this man Iโ€™ll be flying 16 hrs from my country ๐Ÿ’œ Thank you for this reaction! This opening! ๐Ÿ˜‚ You both are such dorks (in the best and most lovable way) and I love it.

Seeing yoongi cry in the last clip always pulls my heart strings ๐Ÿฅบ I am so glad that he is in a much better place now and finally at peace. You should definitely watch the recent interview with IU where he talks about his Agust D persona and how angry he was back then.

Johanna

Hey guys ! Loved the video from the creativity of the setting to the reactions in themselves. I'm really happy you finally got to listen to 'Agust D' it's such a good mixtape that teaches you so much about who Yoongi is. I just had a couple things to say about this so I'll get to it. First a little more context regarding Yoongi and his parents. I don't know how much you know about this but Yoongi's parents weren't supportive of him wanting to make music. That's probably why he had to fend for himself as a teenage rapper, selling his beats/songs to make ends meet. The clip you saw at the end was during the first ever concert of his that his parents attended. That's why he got so emotional. Them being here meant that they finally accepted his passion and gave him their support. I don't know how familiar you are with this aspect of the Korean culture but to make it simple Koreans bow to people to show their respect, the lower you bow the more respect you show. What Yoongi did there was a "full bow", the biggest mark of respect for a Korean person. That's how thankful he was to finally get his parent's support. And of course our angel Jimin was there by his side to support him. The other thing I had to say was in relation to something you said, I think it was Jordan who said it, about being thankful to Yoongi for saying what he said and sharing his hardships through his music. Hearing you say that could only make me think of their song 'Louder than Bombs' which is one of my all time favorite songs. You're not there yet so I won't spoil anything of the message of the song but just keep this idea in mind for when you listen to it.

Sabrina K

I think it was Jimin at the end near Suga while crying, ofc angel Jimin always being there for the emotional support.

Stephanie Gutierrez

Wow I loved this video! And can I just say wow you guys are getting really good at reading hangul! Also picking up on small details or references on past songs etc. so just wanted to give you both props on that!! The will smith insert was hilarious lmao cant wait for D-2!

-Mac-

This was such a great reaction. Thank you for spending so much time with it!

Jess Horton

Jordan- it's "tooth and nail" but I like claw better. We are out here fighting! This reaction was so relaxing. Always nice to see IU, the first time I saw her was in a Kdrama (Scarlet Heart). Suga always seems to find the right words to answer questions, professional and true to his image. Not for a reaction. Very informative about how sneaky this thing was with bb. Army can chime in on what you think too. https://youtu.be/ItJhIszyQfc BB knows BTS does not get radio spins (hardly any western recognition) that's how they shut them out. We must work extra hard supporting all their other platforms and projects so they know we are listening. Like this interview since Suga is watching views. Bravo for taking on such a layered artist before the tour.

a.k.a Mo

It's been a wild ride of a week for me so I'm just now able to start catching up. I thoroughly enjoyed this breakdown and had a thought occur to me during. It's almost like the question Interlude; dream, reality asks of, "okay, I hear the dream, but where is the reality part?", is answered with the chorus of So Far Away. It's the same "dream" we hear in the interlude, but the space in between is filled with word and reality now. It's not a fully formed thought and I feel like I will need to sit with it and listen to those songs back to back a few more times to grasp this new idea but thank you for this reaction as it sparked some new things for my mind to chew on. Appreciate you ๐Ÿ’œ

Bwana

Background Fact: Hitman Bang got his name because when he worked as a song writer and producer at JYP the songs he wrote became hits. Secondary Fact: He start Big Hit Entertainment because he hated how trainees were treated.

okay okay okay okay but ๐Ÿ˜ญ I havent seen the future videos yet PLEASE tell me they know its pronounced {Day-goo} Daegu ๋Œ€๊ตฌ at this point Obviously this video is great as usual; I really value you guys' perspective and content. It just drives me a lil nuts to hear you pronounce so many of the korean romanizations correct only to get a word you've read plenty of times incorrect 1:44:30 I would be so up for that! You're good and deserve further appreciation of your rap work
