AGUST D-DAY IS FINALLY HERE…and this man dropped some absolute BOMBS. 💣💣

(This reaction was blocked from YouTube, therefore we had to upload it directly to Patreon. It is also available on Vimeo (Password- D-DAY!!) for those who find it easier to watch on that platform.)

ARMY, it has been a helluva month. To be honest, we weren’t sure if we’d have enough time or stamina to successfully complete our reactions to the Agust D Trilogy, while also maintaining our physical and mental health. But we did. And it has been a DEEEEEEEEEPLY therapeutic, inspiring, paradigm-shifting journey for us. A journey that will culminate on April 26th, 2023, at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, NY, as we attend AGUST D’s first tour stop in the U.S. Following this, we may need an entire week of pure rest…that is if we even make it out of the venue... 😴😂

REACTION TRILOGY STATUS:

Liz Torres

I can't. You guys are going to loose your minds. Even more than before 🤯 Im so glad to be here to enjoy it with you both. Love you my lil' bros 💜💜

Eternity 7

When are you going to listen to Hope world? Or his solo songs you haven't listened to yet?? I really hope you listen to Hope world because that's the only mixtape from Rapline you haven't listened to that gives the idea of songs they did before this chapter 2 and you might see how much he has grown... Also you haven't watched his "hope on the street" videos as well.

Steph

LETTSSS GOOOOOO!!!! Cant wait to watch this later 🔥🔥

louise

Let's go ! This is a masterpiece !!

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

Agh! Got my Album yesterday. I’m addicted to SNOOZE 💔💜💜💜💜💜

chantal bavaud

TeeDub1013

I got my album this afternoon - Scar Yoongi photocard and postcard

M Mia

When I was listening to some songs on this album i was thinking about you guys :))) a lot of these songs fit your criteria of music :D

dulseokbangtan

The FIRST name I said hearing Huh?! was Pop Smoke, no joke.

Ingrid Adela Khan

You guysssss didn´t get the reference to Daechwita with his scar (healed up) and him killing the "king" at the end?! Hehhehehe! And the "Boss telling them to cut his head off! S2

zelly

I don’t comment often but just wanted to pop in and say y’all are awesome, I appreciate you and I hope you have an amazing weekend. Thank you and God bless. 💜🥹

sevenprettyboys

ahahah i was going to comment about the winterly site (by @winterlyblooms on twitter) and then I saw you open it up. it's a great repository of translations by trusted army translators (including but not limited to doolsetbangtan) :) now!! onto your first listen of D-DAY! While you have said that you will do a lyrical analysis later, I do suggest at least doing one reading of the lyrics before the tour. The lyrics elevated my experience of the album. All of them, but right now, the ones that hit the hardest are Amygdala and Snooze. I'm still in the middle of watching your first listen and writing my thoughts here as I watch further :)

neleh

thank you for this reaction, the album was really helpful this week. The whole kpop community is currently mourning and it makes my heart heavy.

Charaety

This reaction was everything! And so was the Haegeum MV reaction! I’ve had the album on repeat since it came out. Agust D and D-2 were amazing, but D-Day hit different. It really was a liberating piece of art. Reading the lyrics and watching his Road to D-Day documentary put a lot of things into perspective. It made me appreciate him and his craft even more. As always, thank you guys so much!

Seneca

If you split the reaction in two parts, it won't be blocked on YT!

leat

this was a great reaction as usual. my favorite is snooze i think but i also like the 3 first songs. and parts of amygdala. amygdala went all over the place. you start of thinking it would be a slow song and them it jumps into a hard beat and that was a little off to me. but i loved the haunting "i dont know your name" and the cores amygdala. and wait til you hear haegeum and amygdala performance on road to d-day. let me just say i still have not recovered from rockstar yoongi. all his songs are better live it´s the same with BTS songs so i am really jelly that you get to experience this. this tour is a once in a lifetime thing. because he will go on tour with BTS later on and play their songs. it´s the same with hobipalooza so this time for army is so speciel. and we can´t miss it. but i think there will be a concert video of yoongi tour and also behind the scenes so you might be in some of the pictures when you have floor.

PamTan

D-Day is a term often used for important days. In WWII was the beginning of the end of the war. Every European country affected by the war remembers that. Along the coast of Normandy you can see all the memorials. There’s also a great movie called Dunkirk, where it shows what it meant for everybody. I recommend you to check it.

Yeritza

You must react to the lyrics before your concert! His lyrics for D-Day are so deep and vulnerable. There are translations by army on twitter that we can share with you so you get a strong idea of his themes included in this masterpiece

Anaïs

Snooze is my favorite song. I usually enjoy the more bombastic and energic tracks such as D-Day or Huh?! (which are among my favorites) but Snooze really took the top spot. I don't know if it's the piano, or Woosung's touching voice or Suga delivery, or all together, but I loved it, the production too. Also, the documentary which I suppose you will react to soon, he explains about the song, which is basically dedicated to young aspirant artists like him, to not give up, and it really deepened my love for it. Thanks for this reaction guys. I loved this album, I hope we will get a livestream of the concert since I can't see him unfortunately live but it's gonna be insane for you guys to witness all of this, enjoy. 💜

Maya001

Life goes on is an OT7 song and this version is Yoongi’s demo! 🔥🔥🔥

Amani ○°●•7

Be looking for the MV for Amygdala late Sunday Monday... Suga encouraged his audience to rewatch Daechwita HaeGeum and then Amygdala.. 🎵🎧🎵🎧👀👀👀👀👀 ... The production and flow of the album are amazing. Elite. The live of Haegeum is incredible its loaded with traditional Korean instruments... 🔥🔥🔥 .. and Snooze is another sonically pleasing live as well... Suga is in NY now... guys get ready 🌌🌌🌌🖤🎵🎧💫💫💫 Ty for today's reactions 💜

Cheryl ⁷ Lambert

I love this album! It feels like a progression of growth, maturity and setting himself free from all distractions, conventional expectations and the underground and idol systems. Yoongi produces and writes on his terms, speaking his truth in such a raw, authentic way. I agree that all 3 are an elevation in his journey. I love SDL and am totally addicted to Snooze. The lyrics and tone are haunting with an ache and desire. I could see an MV of him just driving along a costal highway…… Beautiful! Thanks guys for another wonderful reaction. I really hope you have an amazing concert experience. I think this will be something different. ENJOY every moment! Love you guys 🫶🏻💜💜🇨🇦

Kecia ⁷

I'm so happy you guys are going the concert! It's going to be amazing! My favorite tracks are Snooze and Amygdala. Not sure how Snooze will live - but I hope WooSung is there. Did you know there is an OT7 song Life Goes On? It's one the 6 #1 hits for BTS, It was made during the pandemic and JK directed the MV, It's one to check out now that you have heard Suga"s.

Selina T

Suga is everything. He’s a rapper, performer, storyteller, musician, producer, advocate, everything. And, he’s an idol, not like a kpop idol, but an idol, someone we can take inspiration from. He stands up for those without a voice, and he spits the truth. I don’t want to make it a competition because they’re all talented, but this is my favorite solo project so far from the members. He’s got such an ear for sound and music, and I’m not even into rap that much lol. His albums has been like watching something at the cinemas

Daphne Schaffer

So encouraging....I can hear the crowds screaming and rapping parts of this song and I know when he repeats Everything's gonna be alright 16x there will be a lot of crying. I do every time. Snooze lyrics.... everything's gonna be alright 16x. It builds and I was so full of emotion I had to cry... Dream.

Daphne Schaffer

He has been playing the electric guitar... I haven't seen it but possibly this is him playing. Hey, in Amygdala... have you ever heard a song speed up like that in the middle?

Daphne Schaffer

BTS had the song Life goes on during the pandemic. This has some of the same melody but different as well as new words. I think they all submitted their own versions and collaborate on a song.

Dani Ellison

This is gonna sound so good live. All of his songs are. So buckle up buttercup your in for the thrill ride of your lives.

Ash

Amazing reaction guys. I absolutely love the album. Snooze is my favourite mostly because Youngi's delivery, the melody, thanks to the late Mr Sakamoto and Woosung, who I absolutely LOVEEEE, vocals. But the other tracks are also bangers!! You guys should check out Woosung's band the Rose, they're soo soo good. He's the only K artist i listen to religiously outside of BTS.

LaNita Starr⁷

Another good one gentlemen 👏🏽👏🏽 I loved hearing your reactions to these songs. There is so much going on right now and you guys do well keeping up! I enjoy riding this journey with you! If you dare to venture off the path...you should take a quick listen to Life Goes On by BTS in the "BE" era. I only listened to the Album twice while watching the Haegeum video in between. There is always soo much to unpack, I give much props to the people who stay up all night digging in! 👏🏽

Jen

Thank you for not forgetting FACE. It is a masterpiece!

Chris Augustine

He samples his verse from the OG Life Goes on in the 1st verse of this song. Has a similar melody as well. I also had a visceral reaction to him singing the So Far away lyrics in Snooze.

shelby🖤

there’s so much i wanna say about this album but i’ll be totally honest. i’m a tad drunk rn and it probably wouldn’t make sense and i don’t even know where to start. i’ll do that when y’all go more in depth. what i will say, is d-day is my favorite of the trilogy and snooze is my favorite agust d song ever. both sonically and lyrically. when i read the lyrics i genuinely just had a 15 minute breakdown and cried my eyes out. yoongi is my comfort person. no one has ever gotten me like he has and no one will ever make me feel as safe as he does. i’ve been so mentally drained bc of college graduation coming up in two weeks (i actually cant go to the concert anymore bc of finals and i’m so upset about it) i just needed that song. you’ll see what i mean when you get to the deep dive.

Bora Companion

I’ll echo what others have said & suggest you try to listen to the BTS OT7 version of Life Goes On. Firstly, because it might elicit an emotional reaction from ARMYs at your concert & you might be left not understanding why if you are unfamiliar with the OT7. Secondly, in Suga’s version he sings parts of Life Goes On that JK, Jimin & Jhope does in the OT7 version. We all know how unique Jimin’s voice is so for Suga to even attempt to sing his lines is commendable and he does a good job.

Karla24.wintaebear

Am I the only one who felt pain when LGO came on and they didn't know LGO the OT7 one?

Abi

I can’t wait for you watch the “ Road to the D-Day” 💜

JessNunez⁷💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Snooze has quickly become my favorite song on this album! The message to younger artists, the lyrics, yoongi playing the guitar(at least he is in road to d-day looking HOT I might add) and then to top is off Woosung's vocals ahhhhhhh!

Mimi

I'm glad you at least got a listen of all 3 albums before the concert even if it was mentally taxing just because of the themes that Agust D's songs tackle so I applaud you for the effort. 💜 As for the album itself, I'm still left in awe. Upon first listen, D-Day and SDL were immediate standouts sonically. Amygdala is haunting. At first, I felt off with the hard-hitting, almost out-of-left-field chorus but after I looked at the lyrics, it made sense. Amygdala made me PHYSICALLY feel the song. "I don't know your name" - as if he's talking to his memories or his pains or himself as things he can't comprehend; it's like he's lost and disoriented as he's confronted by so many things. And then the chorus when he asks his amygdala to save him - "hurry up." It screams of desperation and fear and I FELT that. I think it speaks so much of his internal struggles, his vulnerability, and growth. It hurts to listen to. I cried pretty much the whole of Saturday, especially after watching the performance in his documentary. It levels with So Far Away as my favourite Agust D song. Snooze was a hyped song and for good reason - Woosung is amazing, and Ryuichi Sakamoto is his musical hero. But the message itself is so touching, especially given how the music industry is like. He wanted to say this to younger artists, and if you watch the Suchwita episode with TXT, you'll see how important it was for Yoongi to encourage them. BTS laid witness to what the industry could do to people; they lost friends, too. Yoongi was open about their 2017 experience and how he cried in the shower after the AMAs, how they felt like they were reaching heights with no one to guide them. I can't imagine that burden, and so this song is just gripping, like a warm hug and a hand to hold. I will be forever thankful to him for creating this masterpiece.

Oleksandra Yakubenko

I don't know if anyone wrote this, but D-Day is used as synonym for important event, yes it came from war term, but transformed to represent something important. Usually big events. And countdown to the Dday goes: D-5 (D minus 5 days) - 5 days to D day. When D2 was announced, we got a twitter countdown every day: D-5, D-4, D-3, and we thought we had 2 days until album drop, but he dropped at D-2 album called D-2, funny guy)))) So D- day being final in trilogy, eans omportant hallmark event. Jhope also used similar countdown in his documentary about Lollapalooza and called day of the performance at Lolla - D-day

Shalia

Snooze is my fav song on the album. The story behind this song is so poweful. & after watching the performance on Suga’s D-Day documentary, i love it even more

morphee

i hope they will watch the documentary raod to d day by suga before or after the concert

swathi m

Amazing... glad u enjoyed this and u made it..!! 💜💜 Don't forget to enjoy the concert... U may have to practice fan chants as well lol..😂😂 armies are planning.. "A TO THE G TO THE U TO THE STD" as the fan chant.. it ll be sooo hype,. 🔥🔥🔥

Danka Sakovic

I wish J&J weren't sitting cause they would have danced a lot during this album review. 😄

Danka Sakovic

In your context of "war" this album felt like you were saying D-Day felt like he came and dropped a huge bomb, Haegeum felt like he was still fighting, HUH?! felt like he was finishing the fight, AMYGDALA and SDL felt like he was realising what he had done seeing all the casualties, People PT. 2 felt like him explaining why he did that, POLAR NOGHT felt like he was preparing to go home after the war is over, knowing he did what he did to set us all free, Interlude: Dawn felt like he was driving at dawn trying to decide whether he did the wrong or right thing, Snooze felt like he was paying respect to all of those who lost themselves in this "war" cause of a dream of freedom, and Life Goes On felt like he is telling us to never let go of trying to free ourselves no matter what kind of "war" it may start, and that no matter what we'll be ok. Your reaction to the album made me feel like this. 😅 I know it has nothing to do with actual album, lyrics and the production of the album. 😅 Anyways, thank you for this reaction, your hard work is admirable. BORAHEA!!! 💜💜

fran

guys you are amazing hahaha, how I love your reactions, you are ready for the concert! please enjoy it a lot and shout for me pleaseeeeee, one second, make sure you learn the songs before for a better experience! hahaha

Aylaᴿᵖʷᵖ

You definitely deserve a rest after all these reactions dudes 💜

MM

You've done it! You're all ready for your concert, please take some rest and recharge as this was an intense journey for you in a very short time. I personally think that as this is the end of the trilogy, the tempo went down to act as a proper closure. When I am left hyped at the end of an album, I want moooreeee, when I am left soothed like with D-Day, I just feel content and happy, without any cravings.A perfect ending.

soyaspinsxxx

Can't believe you guys get to hear Suga's version of Life Goes On before you hear the original, OT7 Life Goes On from their 2020 album BE. Hearing him sing JK's and j-hope's verses was so unexpected and incredible. While far from my favourite bts song, LGO means so much to pandemic ARMYs, and holds the title as the first fully Korean song to ever reach #1 on the billboard hot 100. A queen 👑 D-DAY is by far my favourite project from Suga, it brought back the rawness and emotions of Agust-D with the top quality production of D-2. Still can't pick a favourite song from it, it's just that good! And hearing j-hope with his signature swaggy laid-back flow on a drill beat was otherworldly. Thank you Agust-D, you will be missed! 💜

Selina T

Just wanna add I love how suga always incorporating Korean culture into his music, keeps it unique and authentic

Rihab Bhar

Omg omg omg------ THE CHOREOGRAPHY 😀 IT just got released 4 minutes ago. YALL.....ITS A MUST WATCH🤌

Daphne Schaffer

In the Haegeum video, don't you just love that the goldfish is imprisoned in the water jug? Life is running out as the water drains!

Rihab Bhar

WAIT----ITS THE FIRST TIME A BTS MEMEBER ADDED KRUMPING IN THEIR CHOREOS😭💃 plsss I just realized after rewatching the dance trying to analyze it. Ahhhhh I'm so happy, he killed it :) His Improvement in dancing is......IMMENSE BTW👏💜

Maria

can’t believe y’all heard Suga’s version of Life Goes On before the OT7 Life Goes On from BE lol, so of course y’all missed the references and emotional attachment. D-Day is simply a masterpiece both sonically and lyrically. To understand it better you guys need to check out Road To D-Day on Disney plus. It’s almost impossible to choose a fav song but D-Day and Snooze make it top

Anja

3 reactions (2 cool 4 Skool, D-2 and now D-Day) in just one day finished. 😅 I love this album so much and appreciate your review. Doolset had meanwhile translated the first 3 songs, I guess the rest will follow during the next week. Maybe you could read them before the concert. I can't tell which song I like the most. They are all so good. I really thought you already watched the OT7 Life goes on song. 😯 It's the first time 2 songs exists with the same title. That's bc Sugas version is his demo. I hope you are able to watch the documentary on Disney+ before the concert. I'm wishing you, Steph and all the other ARMYs an amazing time. 보라해! 🫶💜

april pullen

There are places you’d could look up lyrics besides coolest that are. Pretty good, at least so you can get the gist of what he’s saying ( not colored coded but actual written lyrics)

Biljana Monteleone

Dear Jared and Jordan - thank you kindly for another great reaction video .🙏🏻💜💜. My best attempt to express my feelings after listening to this masterpiece is the following- AGUSTD/SUGA/MIN YOONGI unapologetically unleashed an avalanche of his brilliance as an artist, rapper, singer, producer at the world. I know ARMYs are welcoming it with an open arms and hearts and S(e)oul s lol. I almost started crying listening to Snooze and that beautiful piano music 🙏🏻late Sakamoto + enchanting voices ( thank you kindly Woosung). Dream… that always gets me .. Amygdala is another song that grew on me too- I felt so connected to from the very first listening. 🙏🏻💜 Interlude : Dawn and that guitar if I can make it as my ringtone I will . Darn . Huh?! Our dear Sunshine and Hope ..🙏🏻🙏🏻💜 Love the explosion of D- day and Haegeum - so brutally honest and loud! Life goes on was so emotional and comforts me that we will be in this magical Bangtan life for a long time 🙏🏻💜x7. Thankful for this beautiful gift to us from a genius himself! Hope you have the night of your life seeing this impressive living wonder LIVE! Stay safe and live to tell your story. Borahae from California 💜💜

Biljana Monteleone

I kept hearing JK’s and J-hope’s voices …made me quite emotional…💜🙏🏻

Biljana Monteleone

WOW-ED! Had to watch countless times. I admit 🙋🏻‍♀️💜

QuinnAlan56

I hope I run into you guys at the concert!!!!!!!!! See you on Wednesday!

reinranko

No one is mentioning this, but I thought the ‘Polar Night’ lyrics were amazing. The type of lyrics that can be applied to everyone.

Elena

Hey Jared and Jordan! Loved the reaction! Haegeum's MV Making and Dance Practice, and a bunch of live clips of some songs are on BTS's YT channel. There's also this cute video called Road to Army that you should watch before leaving for the concert. I feel like Suga: Road to D-Day docu gives some context behind some of the songs' messages, can't wait for that reaction. :) I've listened to this album a few times already, I think my favorites are Amygdala and Snooze, but honestly, I love all of the songs. I'll probably narrow it down after I read the lyrics for the whole album. I can't believe nobody warned you that BTS already has an OT7 song called Life Goes On (2020, BE Album), it's kind of funny that you reacted to Suga's first. Listening to D-Day, it makes me sad that I didn't get the Los Angeles tickets because we don't know if there's ever going to be another Agust D/Suga tour or concert. I'm really tempted to buy resale tickets, but I don't know if they're reliable or not. I really hope he films one of the concerts and releases it on DVD/Blu-Ray/Weverse, so everyone can watch it. Hope you guys have fun at the concert, can't wait to hear you guys talk about the experience (or perhaps... vlog?). Borahae! 💜💜

LizP⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷⁷

I'm so glad you guys got through all the albums in time for the concert!!!! Please listen to your favorite tracks in the car. We can understand if you hold off on the car reactions. This has to be my favorite Agust D albums of them all. I feel like he started off the trilogy voicing his anger, hostility, hurt, somberness, then ultimately his triumph and success. A rollercoaster indeed which made listeners want to keep riding and riding. Thank you guys for getting thru the albums and solos in time. I REALLY HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR FIRST BTS/SUGA/AGUST D THE CONCERT!!!! This is a huge event, especially as new Army, that will be an experience unlike any other concert you've been to!! 🫶💜🫶💜

Amiii

There is a lot to unpack here. I hope for a lyrical deep dive and a reaction to some other content like the dance practices and the documentary in the near future🙏 All songs are great and have their own raison d'être and story to tell. My favorites are ’D-Day‘, ’HUH?!‘ and ’Snooze‘, but to be honest, I‘m still stuck at ’What do you think?‘ from D-2 😆

LIBBY WILSON

Phenomenal. Yoon-gi/Suga/AgustD is a genius in all his personal. I love the entire album but Snooze got my heart and soul. D-Day and the rest if the sings make feel so many different types of emotions too. I envy ARMY who get to attend his concerts. I wonder if I can high jack a ticket!!!🤣🤣🤣💜×7

Sherry Xiong

Omg!!! Love love love DDay and your reactions as usual.

Jordyn

When you guys get around to the original Life Goes On by bts, PLEASE loop back around to AgustD's Life Goes On. Hearing his version after knowing bts' instantly made me cry. The parallels are beautiful but also sad? I don't know. This album... I'm so proud of Yoongi. This topped all my expectations. Thank you for the reaction guys 💜. I'm also impressed you were able to prepare so well for the concert in a short time. Please help cheer Yoongi on as he opens up his tour. Have fun!! 💜🥳

Lilysll

Each of these songs would be elevated once you get to read the lyrics! The songs are truly impactful and reflects what a genius he is as a lyricist and poet.

Cassidy

me too!!

Kiki

In the last SUCHWITA (R-CHWITA) episode he said that he really wanted to try drill music and that‘s why he made „HUH?!“. I love Hobi‘s verse in this song. Oh yeah and Suga said in a recent interview that he hopes ARMY will sing along on tour. So make sure to memorize these lyrics guys! This is gonna be LOUD! Thank you as always for your reaction! Appreciate you

Kiki

Sel is one of our best Twitter translators! good choice of source

Kiki

When I saw Woosung feat on one of Yoongi‘s songs I was so happy. The Rose is touring right now and I went to a concert in February. Absolutely stunning artists! And his voice is very unique. I recommend checking them out. Snooze is my favorite song of the album because it feels like the bigger sibling of „So Far Away“. If you listen closely you can hear some lyrics of SFA in Snooze.

Zoe Del Toro

Snooze is prob going to be my favorite song of all time. I also love HUH with Hobi and Life Goes On <3 in Life Goes On he does a lot of callbacks to BTS version of Life Goes on which melts my heart <3

Suga(r)kookie

Amygdala is such a sad videostory

JenR

Oh I love your point about Life Goes On and how him ending with a song where he is singing is such a great message and way to conclude the album and trilogy! It is the ultimate "setting free" mentality and I love that. I also find it interesting how you mention its remarkable how he is able to maintain the same quality of music, if not better, each time he releases it versus other artists who seem to fall after their debut (and how this might be because of time pressures and industry standards). I think I agree with you on that, but also would like to add part of the reason he has to take his time between solo projects is because he has more than a full time job as BTS. While he could just release a track here or there more often, he chooses to (and maybe only can) release new solo produced music when his BTS schedule as SUGA allows. While at the same time, being part of BTS gives him so many experiences, opportunities for growth, exposure to new things and the stimulation of the other members that he can then come back and apply to his solo music. A lot of the artists we compare him to are solo artists that don't have that background or opportunity and so of course his music is gonna sound different, and perhaps better, as a result. But there's probably even more that goes into this aspect than just what I said too. Love how thought-provoking this reaction was! I had the same reaction to D-Day as you and it's up there with Snooze for me as favourites, but ultimately this is a no-skip album for me. So, so happy you got to see it in person!

Marta P

I have listen to this album 7 times now 💜 And will continue to listen to it AGAIN and AGAIN! Thank you for this reaction 🙌

Monique

I love the whole album. My top three are amygdala,Snooze, HUH.

Houa

There is an MV of this song ‘Amygdala’ so I hope to see you guys react to the video.

Alishea

This just took me back to the concert night 😭 I'll never forget how amazing suga was, his vocals especially were so beautiful 😭 The entire album was a masterpiece, it was so personal to him and I love each song differently.
