Today, Teacher Wonji teaches us how to read and master combinations of THREE Hangul characters! And guess what...after you complete today’s lesson, you’ll be able to read 99% of Korean words (assuming you’ve completed the previous lessons as well)!! 😉 🎉

Please do not be discouraged if you feel lost or confused while trying to comprehend today’s class material…we’re right there with you. IT'S SOME COMPLEX STUFF.

But practice and persistence makes PERFECT.

Not only will we be rewatching this lesson a couple more times in order to cement all of the tricky “rules” into our brains, but we'll be going back to watch previous lessons again as well. We encourage you to do the same (if you have time)!

Attached is the PDF that corresponds with today’s lesson. It may be helpful to use it as a guide while you watch the lesson. Please let us know if you have any questions for us or Teacher Wonji!!

NOTE: At this time, we will NOT be setting a specific frequency for release of videos in this series. This is due to the HIGH editing bandwidth these episodes take. However, we will tentatively plan to release a piece of content (video, post, etc.) every 3-4 weeks.

FOLLOW TEACHER WONJI ON SOCIAL MEDIA:

ARMY, as always, we truly appreciate your love and support (WE’LL CONTINUE SAYING THIS UNTIL THE END OF TIME). Your subscription allows us to produce higher-quality reaction videos, and moves us closer to our goal of doing this full-time! Let us know if you have any questions, feedback, thoughts, etc. at any time! BORAHAE!! 💜💜

Thank you guys. I’ve been practicing daily on duolingo and I’m impressed at how much progress I’m making between watching these videos and that. There’s a few TikTok creators who give bite sized korean short videos too, I watch some of those each week but as a language teacher I’m really impressed at how Wonji’s classes and watching you two learn is also helping me retain more. I split your videos into smaller chunks and watch around 10-15 mins, then stop and write the words in Hangul with English translation in my notebook, practise using them or remembering content where I’ve seen the word (괜찮아!) etc and then do some more a few days later, so your posting schedule actually works great for me cos it’s taking a few weeks to complete each video a couple of times so that I’m confident in the info. They do look hella long to edit so I’m even more grateful you’re persevering. When I win the lottery we can all fly to Seoul for the comeback and have a month immersion in the language 😝 Thanks again, being part of this particular branch of army is so lovely. 💜💜

Awesome I appreciate you trying to learn the language and not giving up. I am Impressed with how well your doing. It usually the pronunciations people have the hardest with IMHO. Borahae.

Thanks for these J&J!! Teacher Wonji really helps me with filling in the gaps while I’m trying to learn through different resources. Can’t wait to dive into today’s lesson!! 💜💜💜

this is so awesome guys! it helps me study so much thank you!! also it's so cool to experience our learning progress while watching bts content, now that I watch Jk's random weverse lives at 5 am I get 70% of what he is saying when there are no subs💜

Oh boy, I have had a very hard time reading bottom sounds especially ㅆ. need to watch this lesson dozens of times. The carry over rule will be my nemesis. Haha! Those spicy peppers were a perfect example of the struggle! Congratulations guys, you nice keep going!

Jess Horton

Agree and do some of the same. Give your thoughts on Duolingo, used it before but had a tough time understanding the structure.

Fernanda

There are so many rules ahhh but like you guys said it's actually very straightforward and everything makes sense so I guess it's just a matter of practice!

Ash

Just finished this lesson. Will definitely be rewatching to practice these rules before the next lesson with Teacher Wonji 😅

Seneca

It's so satisfying watching you guys make such great progress! Hope you're patting yourselves on the back 👏🔥 I can't wait for the day where you gradually start understanding bangtan content without subtitles, just like Joon did with Friends Also, if it helps get these videos out quicker/lightens your load, maybe you can go easier on the editing! Haha. I'm sure armys would still follow along with a few less bells and whistles

Seneca

dang, that's so awesome about the lives! how long have you been studying korean? (and i know it's not necessarily how long that dictates how good you are! haha. everyone's picks up things at difference paces)

jared and Jordan can you please ask wonji to explain the difference between the meaning of the color green and blue? in serendipity Jimin says blue mold, but in the lyrics it says green mold. i have heard a korean man trying to explain this. but it was hard to understand and he didn´t know why korean people did that. it happens when the light turn green at the gross walk, people says "it´s blue" witch means you can walk now.. even if the color is green they say blue. maybe wonji knows why. I hope you understand it is a little hard to explain.
