Looved your reaction and I'm with you, For us is my favourite song too. But the whole Album is amazing. What I got from the Slow Dancing video was, that V is an artist there too, like in Rainy days. He is working on this installation (like the landscape) and he is doing a kind of VR with the dancing. And this foto with him multiple times, there he was making the pic of himself and his friends, but the friends are not there, its just his artwork or maybe his mind or fantasy. And maybe thats why he is so melancholic at the end, because he knows, that he maybe feels a bit better in his grief, but it is still a fantasy. At the very end he is back in reality with Yeontan (who is btw some times in the video, like one time in the clouds and in the grass. Its so cute). But all this is just my guess. In the end maybe only V knows, what its all about :)

Hi guys, I'm still in the clouds after listening to this fantastic album! My favourite songs are "Love me again" and "Slow dancing"! Regarding the music video of Slow dancing, did you not notice that Yeontan appears 3 times along the winding road? Check it out! (00:12 - 00:17 - 00:36 stop the video at these points!) And then I take the opportunity to ask some Spanish ARMYs if they can confirm to me that the road full of bends we see in the video is in fact the road leading to 'La Calobra' beach on the island of Mallorca. I was there 25 years ago and I still remember it! It looks just like that to me! I don't know if the beach we see in the video is also that of 'La Calobra' but it could also be... I hope someone can take this curiosity away from me!

For me, tae's voice in this whole album is otherworldly. I can't listen to the tracks without having my eyes closed. I didn't think anything could top "Love Me Again", but "Blue" and "Slow Dancing" really caught me off guard. Seriously, I'm in love with this album 💜

my interpretation of the album: what it made me think of is the stages ones person goes through after a break up, you get rainy days which is right after it, tae is seen crying, staying in bed and trying to distract himself doing various activities. Then we get blue, tae is still trying to recover but at the same time trying to get back to that person, gifting them the stars and trying to make them feel better too. Love Me Again is tae really trying to get back to the other person, almost begging them to love him again. Slow Dancing is the realization that the other person maybe got over their relationship, or is doing better than him (there is a whole explanation about the mv too but ill do another comment under this for it) For Us feels almost like that moment between still being hung up on the relationship and finally starting to get over it, we hear tae saying how they both are in different places (or same place wrong time), and that he would still give everything up to be with them, to start over. One of the best albums I've heard in a long time, tae really put his all into this project and we can feel it in every note, as I've begun to call it this is the slutty jazz we never thought we needed. My favorite is For Us for sure, that sample takes me out every time. Cannot wait for the rest of the mv and all the content we are gonna get in the next weeks. Side note but we need to come up with a term for when Jordan hears a song and immediately says he needs RM to hop on it lol cause we got the Drake Alert so we need something new hehe 😈

ok, Slow Dancing time, I have been seeing different theories and explanations about the mv and they all have similar things in common. First we get the impression that tae is going to the beach with his friends, we see them in the car, taking pictures, eating flowers (which btw that is a type of camomille that can be eaten raw lol), but then we get the first hint that this is not a normal beach day among friends. We see them all take a picture together but when it develops we can only see different versions of tae, again first hint that makes us think that this could be all an imagination or as Amani (hope it spells like that) says an hallucination created by tae in his loneliness. Another fun thing we can see Tannie in the outline of the trees multiple times lol. Then we cut to the beach, and they're all having fun, but then the "lab" comes in the picture, we see screens, different equipment, the model of the road they were driving on, and then its just a back and fort between the beach and that room. One thing that really made me think this was a hallucination was when the flute came in, we see all of them dancing, but then we see Tae in the room doing the same, or similar dance moves that the tae on the beach is doing, making me think that he put himself in that beach, recording every move every step he would do to make it seem as realistic as possible. We then see all these glowing creatures, the sparkles on his face, making me think about the dots that people use to enhance or edit in CGI scenes and movies. All in all this mv i think shows how tae feels lonely and like he has no one (maybe after the break up), and he conjures this imaginary alternate universe where he is having fun with his friends. idk if this makes sense at all but hopefully the message comes across.

Yes, in For Us it is Tae's voice pitched high. The high pitched voice is him in the past, that's why that voice/self is still in California.. He's feeling nostalgic about some particular memory, but comes back to present reality in the end ..

this album has solidified why I think tae is my bias. every single track on this album, evoked emotions and feelings within me that I have not experienced before. I think a lot of this boils down to being able to get to know tae as a person over these past three years and understanding him to as much a degree as I can, I know this is a genuine true representation of him and his loves of music. our tastes just match so seamlessly. I will always say though, that bangtan have opened my eyes and ears to genres of music I had never given thought to listening to before. every single solo piece of work that has been released I have never thought once, oh this isn't for me, because it just always seems to trigger emotions in me no matter what it is, and I genuinely think it is due to the connection that they have created between us and them. I feel the strongest sense of pride when they all release music and to see them do what they love so passionately just makes the music even sweeter. I will always say, how incredible is it that we have seven completely diverse, accomplished artists in one group. how lucky are we. j+j once again your reactions never fail to bring a joy to my evenings and this was no exception, I hope you love listening to layover and that it brings you a sense of comfort when you do!

This entire album is a vibe. I can’t stop listening to it. It just makes me feel different sorts of emotions. The only thing I can complain about is that it only has 6 tracks 😂 i want more! When I first heard “For Us”, i almost melted. It’s definitely my favourite in the album, with Slow Dancing a close second. Tae did so well in this project. He followed his heart and the authenticity just shows.

funny how jared said that slow dancing sounded like a classic song that we have heard before. yesterday i watched a two different reactors and they all said something similar. that it reminded them of a theme song for a movie. the sound you hear when the main role don´t say anything. something to express something without worlds. could be two people enjoying a date or a man walking on the beach thinking of the past. a happy memory. I think the director did a good job. this album felt like a good flow in the same genere. not like jimin´s or indigo witch has many different genres. this felt unique. however i must say that this type of music is not my style at all. but i can hear that the production is good. it reminded me of her girl groups music. and i think that´s why V contacted her because he like that style. for me i think jimin´s album was the best and then d-day and indigo. it´s so hard to choose. but this is my least favorite album so far. but i am proud of him for doing his style. and it´s crazy how different their taste is

OMG jared just said what i was thinking the whole album through. i totally forgot about it. it felt like different stages of grief. first total sadness and then emptiness and jealousy and then slow dancing felt like it was him accepting that they would never be together again. so that also explain how the album seem to get happier for each song. it´s actually brilliant. it was kind of the same thing jimin did but his emotions was anger and loneliness and liberation. and also intoxication in like crazy. the emotions was a little all over the place not slowly getting better like this

I am sooo glad we had to listen to the album for "For Us" before the video so we can experience the music break, the change up,, the fantastic beat, and the lyrics. It is 100% my favorite song on the album. Although, the whole album has my heart. The beat change, the cassete tape sound, the intro voice (reminded me of RM's Closer) I didn't want to say which one was my favorie because I didn't want to give anything away but OMG!!! Hi 2J, I haven't seen your reaction yet, but I wanted to say this right out of the gate: The video storyline and the music are so well crafted, and so /completely/ Kim Taehyung. He gave us /exactly/ what I hoped for from him, and he hit LayoVer clear outta the park while doing it. His voice is a glorious mix of soothing, warm, smooth, and sensual. The album itself, and the added MV's [so far] evoke the sun is lowering over the gently lapping waves on beach; that moment as twilight descends. And the tonal shift in For Us, as he steps out of the dreams/memories/hologram[?], and back into reality? Loved it. I'm eager to see the last 2 MVs so I can hear/watch the story unfold from top to bottom. JARED! I /highly/ recommend pairing LayoVer with Indigo; it's aural deliciousness. I wanted to throw the towel in like one of my aunties on Sunday service! He did that !!! 🖐🏿😫🤚🏿 I told y’all! For Us and Blue did it for me! Yes, Jared was right. It was that run on the last Blue. It’s like crooning, I feel the emotion. I interpreted this album differently. It’s a breakup album from front to back, it’s like the songs make you sit in your sadness. -Blue was very eerie but sensual . It gave me memories of being with someone who you love so much. You want to give the world, stars and moon but no matter what you do, they are and never will be content. (and it might not necessarily be because of you). They’re just painted blue. It’s like a vicious cycle. Trying to figure out how to love someone and wanting to see them happy but they themselves don’t even know what that is internally, is exhausting and I felt this song in my soul. -For Us gave me “im in your city and my flight is early tomorrow morning. Let’s meet up for lunch or coffee and catch up. I know YOU decided it wasn’t working out but…“ I’m also going to go look for my Diary from my last relationship because I feel like it was stolen and bought by Taehyung! I can’t wait for the MVs to see if I was close.

OMG YES @40:40 YOU NAILED IT!!! In my mind, layovers are synonymous with waiting. For Us (and really all the songs on the albums at certain points) really harnessed the essence of waiting and materialized it into music. Also, waiting has a somewhat negative connotation to it, but with Layover, Taehyung shows it's beauty. To sit back and let the instrumentals take you out or have a completely unrushed music break in the middle of a song is so calming and purposeful. I am beyond proud of Taehyung. 1000% worth the wait and I hope he is proud of this masterpiece. He absolutely killed it 😭💜

Guys y’all need to react to "V makes it rain at Spotipoly | Spotipoly (FULL)". It's a video where Tae answers fan questions (a bit like JK's ball-terview) and plays games and reveals interesting things about the album. They also released another video called “V makes V poses and the world is good again| UNBOXING SHOW (FULL)”, this is also really fun video where V answers fans questions. Both videos are from the same channel, I hope u can react to both on the same day.

Tae is working hard, he is gonna do so many live performances. Yesterday he did the pre-recording for Inkigayo (with army present) and apparently the stages are really cool, as they filmed each song in a different location (usually in music shows, the song is performed on their stage and that's it). So the armys there were transported on buses rented by V, to go to each location

Wow..your choreography was in sync and on point for "For Us". I think that is my favourite track on the album, but they are all so special. I have been trying to make sense of the Slow Dancing MV. (Where is Bookish Theories when you need her). It almost felt that V was creating his own virtual reality to insert himself into. At one point there appeared to be a tabletop version of the MV..at another he was mapping out his body movements as if for a hologram version of himself. He controlled the sails rising on the tall ship before he was on it. After watching a couple of times, I started noticing pix of Yeotan everywhere...his face was mapped out in the grass in the background many times throughout the video. I noticed the polaroid taken in the van only seemed to contain various versions of himself, rather than the group of friends that the photo was taken of. I could be way off in my observations, but he certainly made any interesting video for us to dissect. Thanks for reacting. You had me dying laughing at Jared's sermon with Jordan's adlibs.

Your reaction to For Us is SO REAL. It instantly became my favorite. I swear it just does something to me. Taehyung asked us what is our fav track on Stationhead this morning and the comments were flooded with For Us (Stationhead head is an app where you can host listening parties. We can stream simultaneously and the host can turn their mics on and speak). I'm glad he knows what an impact that track (as well as the whole album) has had on us.

In this crazy, rushing time, this is a Layover we all need in our chaotic lifestyle. It is such a gift. This album is a beauty. It's so relaxing, so soothing. I'm just Soo proud of Tae and his artistry. He's worked so hard on Layover and it was most definitely worth it. For Us is like I can't even explain it. You know those songs that you listen to and they're so good that you just think 'how can someone make something this good'. That's how I feel about For Us. Blue is also a favorite for me. I thought For Us was all I'd be singing but since the album dropped, Blue has not left my mind. Tae's voice!?!? His vocal range is just phenomenal. Jared just preaching!!!!! This album was totally Kim Taehyung. Everything I would imagine his album to be did not disappoint. My description for each track (without lyrics) at first listen would be: Rainy Days=perfect relaxation Blue=sultry (but after reading lyrics, sad mood) Love Me Again=I will Tae, always and forever Slow Dancing (piano version)=my favorite For Us=baby making music (Jordan read my mind) and how did I know Jared would lose his sh*t when he heard this, also tied for my favorite....that transition though!!! Jared, my sentiments exactly! As a V bias I have to say that I thank God for the genius of Kim Taehyung. I love that he isn't afraid to be who he is. Please check out his Spotify interview. Aaand I'm back. I loved watching Jordan watch Jared, that's always fun. Watching Jared's new fave song descend upon him was /also/ grin worthy. Slow Dancing Now, I'm going to slightly, disagree with Imani? Amani? If you go back and watch the MV for slow dancing you'll notice that yes it's a lab, but I'm reasonably certain, Tae's character is in a holo room. At 11 seconds in, Tae's in the water but for a brief, flicker we see the motion capture lights on his skin. Later, we see the winding road and hills on the table. There's the boat in the box. He appears to get scanned when he's in front of the mirror, and then he steps into the back corner of the room [upper right of the screen] into what could be a image capturing space. You'll notice that at 2:11 of the video there's the motion captured dot rendering of him under the glass dome, copying his motions. All the TV screens are showing different 'memories' that he can go back into. Even Yeontan is a replayable memory, because suddenly after the glowy picture, Tannie is on the wall and not walking with Tae back into the apartment. For Us Man, this song settles the story line so cleanly. It seems that their happiness as individuals is diametrically opposed to each other. So all they can do as hope that the other finally changes their mind, because the /want/ to be together but simply cannot at this point in time, and they are literally waiting for the other to cave in. I find it interesting/sad that neither Tae nor the person he's longing for, are /actually/ willing to "give it all up for us" because they aren't together, in the end. "It was nice to know you And it breaks my heart That we gave it our best shot. Now I'm/you're in California I'm still waitin' for ya Will you change your mind?" And that tonal shift when the chorus is sung the second time, /I/ think represents Tae finally accepting that living in the past, wallowing in the memories will not/or no longer serves him; he's out of the hologram and in the real world. Hii you both, loved the reaction!! Soo I just stumbled across this very interesting interpretation of the “Slow Dancing” mv, I’d like to know what you’d think about it: “The Slow Dancing Mv is about a scientist who made an alternative universe for himself because he is alone in reality. People around him are actually himself. That’s all in his imagination because he is trapped alone (inside his mind).” I was confused as to why the people on the Polaroid they took in the car are all just him..but now it makes sense. “The place where he is going on a trip is actually his miniature creation ( pause at 1:04 in the mv). He is virtually creating every character around him to not feel alone. At the end of the day he falls asleep and wakes up in his real world where he is alone with his pet in his apartment.” In relation to this album and his life as an idol, I think that this is an interesting perspective that also just makes sense. Man, how coincidental Tae has a song about California, and y’all are in California lolol. No but I love this album, it is 100% feeding my R&B/soul appetite, and exactly what I’ve been wanting to hear on the radios. I hope it does well on the charts, but if it doesn’t I understand, and don’t really care, and I think Taehyung doesn’t care much either. I mean I’m gonna stream it as much as possible to support him, but This is honestly, grown and sexy music, which I can see many of the younger folks, that’s into tik tok music, won’t be into this. But V just did this for the art and for those who enjoy his music, this kind of music. I’ve heard him before say he doesn’t care about being popular, he wants to be unique and connect with people in that way. I fell in love with For Us immediately, but as I’m listening to it more, Slow Dancing is a great title track. I saw him perform it on Inkagayo today, and it was such a beautiful scene when he put the mic into the audience, he took off his ear piece, and listened to ARMY sing the chorus, as he swayed along with them and their army bombs, ugh, so magical. And the choreo is perfect, it’s just freestyle, free flowing, feel good dancing coming from the heart through the body. I love how he took out the flashy aspects of todays music and just made it pure. I also agree with you, I love how he incorporated instrumental solos, an art/element really missing in current music. I’m proud of this guy. In BtS early days, some people just called him a growler and a pretty face. But dude is a straight up artist. This whole album gave me Sade vibes. My only critique of the album/songs, (but really a compliment) is that they’re too short!! A song like For Us, gotta milk that shit, for as long as possible!! Cuz it sounds soooo good 😌. Mesmerizing and hypnotizing clam relaxing feel is how I feel when I listen to this album. Also kind of sad. My husband and I just split and this album just makes me weep. He sings about things that could be. Like slow dancing and romancing. Makes me sad in a way.

FRESH PATIENT YEARNING INFUSED COMPLEX My 1st listen i could see TaeHyung with his musical fingers dancing with all those trippy jazz infused sounds .. I laughed.. his joy of sounds I can see him producing later ... his adoration for specific jives.. This was 6 songs full of longing of yearning ... Being a jazz lover I actually do not find the album "easy listening" ... too many cool sounds to discover .. + Tae is A visual enthusiast - i can't wait for Blue's video and For Us. I will say that Tae's videos are the most creative and mind bending. Chapter 2 music from Bangtan has been top tier. ELITE. I feel fortunate again that they found me. Thank YOU TaeHyung. You are a smart and soulful human being in your sharing of yourself in this EP. OMG OMG OMG this album did not disappoint and thank you guys for reacting. I love how attentive you guys are and the way you went into details. But goddaaaamn your reaction to For You had me replaying every time🥰I knew that you would love that song💜 V is so hard to describe with words, the man's simplicity and uniqueness never fails to impress me. He could have easily do a pop song with choreo...because yes, he has the voice and is one of the smoothest dancers. But he stayed true to himself and deliver this masterpiece. I hope he releases more songs and we get to witness his craft and his musicality. Yes! Their duet was unbelievably good. It really set a spark in me to learn more about IU and her music and I'm so so happy I've started to learn more about her. Also, it was lovely to see their interaction. You can really tell they are good friends. It's always amazing to see Tae with people he's comfortable and familiar with.

Hi Jared and Jordan! I know I come a year late to give my opinion on this, but I still want to share my theory with you. The "sample" has a change in the voice that makes it higher pitched, which, if we listen carefully, can sound like someone talking on a phone, a slightly distorted voice. And in fact, the first time that the voice appears, the person says "Now I'm in California", which means that the person V loves is in California and that part of the song is as if it were sung by that person. In the last part, where there is already that switch that cuts the "sample", the altered voice stops being heard and becomes V's voice being heard, as if he were now telling his side, that's why the lyrics changes from "Now I'M in California" to "Now YOU'RE in California", because now it's V singing to the person he loves. That was basically the thought I wanted to share. Thank you for the wonderful reaction to the album, which for me is the most special one. It's my comfort album, for sure.
