Basketball is truly a language of its own, and for those of us who are privileged enough to speak it, we know exactly what Suga is saying in this song.

You got that right, it definitely doesn’t get any easier in-fact I think it gets harder as the enlisting goes on. I burst into tears today just thinking about them all and this whole process. I just want 2025 to hurry up so we can have them all back together again and I can have a whole heart again because it won’t be whole until they are all back safe and well. This is my FAVORITE album era (Young Forever being my all-time favorite as it combines Pt 1 & Pt 2.) The music is just sooo me as it has what I like to call (b-sides.) It's very R&B and very well done. I don't know, I just adore it. I can listen to it on repeat forever, literally. Enjoy!

to clarify, yoongi will be doing public service instead of active service like jin and hobi. this is due to his shoulder injury. we know this bc of the korean translation of the notice (for some reason it wasn’t explicitly stated in the eng but it was in the korean) what that means is he’ll be working a 9-5 for the government. he gets to go home at the end of the day and even has weekends off! he’ll go to his assigned place on the 22, leave to complete his 3 weeks of training, and then go back to his 9-5 the rest of the time. the only sad part about this is that means his service will be for 21 months instead of 18 but it’s worth it tho to make sure he’s safe from being injured again. i’m going to miss him so much and it still sucks he has to put his life on hold but at least we won’t have to worry about his safety. he’s really been so amazing through this whole process and the live was very comforting. also not just hobi was in the live but so was jin. apparently they had been texting before their phone time ended and hobi disappeared on jin, bc he left to watch the live, so jin showed up in the live too. they never fail to make me laugh.

HYYH !! I’m so excited. A thing I really enjoy about this era is just how well it encapsulates “youth”. It evokes feelings of nostalgia and takes me back to such specific feelings of my late teens and early 20’s despite the fact that I did not know bts at that time. Rather than some of the songs from skool trilogy that call to mind specific aspects of being young (like blanket kick) I feel like HYYH speaks to the aspects of youth that are still within me as though I’m now in my 30s (which I do still consider young haha). It really is a beautiful album series and I’m so excited for you guys to dive deeper !

I'm so excited we made to HYYH!!!! The BU nerd in me is giddy with excitement!!! I'm trying to look at the bright side of Yoongi's service - he's going to have lots of time to write songs and lots of new experiences to write about. Nevertheless, we are all going to miss him so much.

Thank you guys for reacting to this, and focusing on our “lil cat rapper” as he leaves. I’ve not actually seen this animated video before, we’ve got to a point in our army journeys where you’ve caught up to me cos I paused when I realised you were doing the albums in order (I’ve heard all the songs and watched all the MVs but I stopped doing deep dives alone cos doing them with you is much more entertaining!) so let’s goooooo… Also about the military enlistment, one thing they didn’t translate on the big hit announcement was that Suga is doing social service rather than standard military enlistment, meaning his period of service is longer (21 months rather than 18 like Jin & j-hope) so he will be released on 22nd June 2025. He will do 3 weeks of infantry military training rather than 5 weeks like the others, and that’s after an induction of a few weeks. This is likely due to his shoulder surgery preventing him from full range of motion and means he’ll do jobs in military surveillance, child care or adults with dementia care. He’ll be able to stay in his own home at night, so there’s pros and cons for him. Sadly in Korea it’s a reason to get hate, some idols who have had to take this route are vilified for not doing “proper” military service so let’s hope he receives enough love to compensate. They’re all doing amazingly, and it’s hard to watch them go but now we’re left with the chaotic team of RM plus the maknaes to keep us all in check 😳 let’s enjoy the fun this will bring 😂 Love you guys. We need a Jordan date update and a check in from Jared about how Cali life is treating you! 💜

Oh! And a little piece of trivia. HYYH in Korean translates literally to "the time of the flower blossoms" (or something very similar haha), meaning youth. The blossoming of a person into an adult. That's why you see the pink flower petals on the album cover and the flowers in this MV!

i had an inkling the announcement was coming from the moment jungkookie came back from New Yorn only a week before his concert at Global Citizens. And I was right since the day after I woke up to the weverse notification. It's gonna be 21 long months but it's all gonna be worth it in the end. NEW IN: BTS renewed their contract in advance (they renewed it in 2018 so it was valid untill 2025), but this morning namjoon posted that they all signed it early to go further than 2025. BIG HIT also donated 1 billion won in the name of ARMY and BTS to the UNICEF cause that BTS started in 2018 for LOVE YOURSELF

Naah I think that's absolutely fair! The way I see it, the BU has two sides to it: the plot/story side we know very well and the conceptual side that explores youth as a theme. Elements from wings BU (like Abra**s) are carried over all the way to MOTS, so I do agree that thematically the BU can include a LOT of content, the same way all the wings solos can be interpreted in three ways: personal stories from bts members, the BU story, and the thematic coming-of-age concept. All this to say, this chapter of BTS is one hell of a ride for those of us who love to interpret music and visual arts 😂😂
