the way I wanna say "underrated bop" for literally all of the songs on this album. The titles in this era stand out so strongly that the b-sides I think get lost amongst newer armys. So happy you are taking your time with these albums :)

As much as I love Doolset, it helps to read other translations if certain translated wordings are confusing. Here's an alternative for the bit of Suga's verse you were confused by: "Moving to a business-owned house The price for it was Swearing and names calling me a money follower The fingers pointing at me Like this moving Left lots of things It doesn’t matter if I liked it or not It changed many things in my life My life is monthly rent I depend on it I know My pride is on my saved up money" So, you were right about what was meant by "commercial" - business-owned housing - the dorm. And "risking the deposit" is about being able to save money, rather than just making rent.

I think Suga is referring to being worried about the deposit you need to give to the landlord when you rent a place, if you destroy something they will keep it, it's not a small amount of money generally.

I interpret “the cost of my moving in to a house called ‘commercial’ “as beginning to do “commercial” music, or mainstream music, as opposed to hip hop. Because he decided to become a K-pop idol, people pointed fingers at him and accused him of selling out. A deposit is what you have to pay when you first rent an apartment or house. It’s usually one or two months rent. The deposit is to guarantee that you will pay your rent on time. If you fail to pay, you get kicked out and the landlord keeps the deposit. It is only when you move out of the apartment/house and you’ve paid all your rent and haven’t done any big damage to the home, that you get back the deposit you put down when you first started renting. Suga’s pride is making music and risking everything he has (ie. the deposit) in the hope that his and BTS’s music will continue to be successful, and that they can stay in the higher level they’ve achieved (in 2015)…that he won’t be an utter failure after choosing to go “commercial” K-pop as opposed to staying as an underground rapper.

I think Suga saying " fingers pointing at him, going "commercial" "following money" refers to the backlash RM and Suga got from the underground rappers, who treated them as sellouts for becoming "Idols" instead of staying underground. It was a painful thing for them at that time.

OMG I'm so happy you got into this song already! I am still in the middle of processing Suga's enlistment. Both my biases are now serving which drained my energy, so thanks so much for this!! This is one of my faves - it's part of my mellow playlist to give me a break from those hard hip-hop songs of theirs. This gives me the same vibes as AUTUMN LEAVES, WISHING ON A STAR and PATH (that you had already gone into). You gotta check out the first two I mentioned. You're gonna love those as well if you loved MOVE. I totally love the rappers' different flows here, and the vocal line's hooks - starting with V, followed by Jin (esp that he came right before Suga is *chef's kiss*) then Jimin and ended perfectly by JK! And it's so funny how Jordan had to go back to Jin sneezing! That's hilarious for me too, at the same time I find him just very cute Lol. Excited for you to hear CONVERSE HIGH too! I think it's just a cool song that both of you would really like. Suga's verse there killed me - wait, am I still alive right now? 😩 Just to mention, don't worry too much about the BU. I, myself, couldn't get it at first approach. I had to go back and watch the videos repeatedly to get certain things. So I hope you're not too pressured about it and just enjoy BTS' universe with us. sugas line about risking the deposit to me means that, while he is struggling to have money he still will sacrifice what little he does have to pursue his dream, even if it means he won’t have enough to pay the “deposit”. the word deposit in the song could mean security. Suga is willing to sacrifice a lot to reach his goals. He literally lived this way, having a delivery job during some of his trainee days to keep paying for school, bus rides, food etc.. He would go hungry if he rode the bus one day since he didn’t have enough money for both things. But he still kept at it because of wanting to reach his dream, living that way is risky cause you never know if you will make it or if it was worth it. luckily suga made it:)

When I first heard Moving On I got goosebumps. I could have written those lyrics. I know what it means to close up a house for the last time and leave a home that you loved. We were a military family and did it 9 times. Each house was special and left an imprint. The line about stopping and taking that last look around... ooof. that hit hard. We had a favorite place and a special house and thought it might be our forever home but circumstances didn't work out that way and when it was time to leave and we were getting in the car I realized my youngest daughter who was 12 at the time was missing and I went back into the house to find her and she was sitting on the floor of her empty bedroom. Just sitting there in the middle of this now barren room which for 4 yrs had been her sanctuary and it made my heart break. I had my phone in my hand and I snapped a picture of her in that moment. It is hard to look at that picture because it brings me right back to that moment and this song does the same thing.

Jjajangmeon is so tasty; I’ve not had the pork version but just the noodles with the thick savoury-sweet black bean sauce all over chopped veggies is SO GOOD you should try some in the next unboxing/livestream video with us; Eat with JnJ! I’m down… I think food we traditionally eat in the west when we’re moving house is pizza. At least here in the UK, on moving day you don’t know where your kitchen stuff is and haven’t unpacked plates and things so we tend to move the furniture and boxes over, re-build the beds then get a pizza or two delivered so we can sit and eat before continuing the unboxing… When SUGA talks about the deposit he’s referring to the security deposit one pays as they move into a new rented home. He’s risking the deposit by pursuing music which isn’t a guaranteed income. Similarly he’s moved from Daegu to Seoul to “chase money” and has spoken about how people told him he would “dishonour his family” by not getting a secure job in an office but instead he left home and went to follow his dream which was quite looked down upon. As his family were one of the poorest it was a greater risk. Hope that gives context and now I’m hungry 🤤 So, my fav from this album is Boyz With Fun. I LOVE BTS when they’re a lil chaotic, jumping around and firing off each other with fun high energy. You’ll get a wee bit of growly V and a call-and-response 80s-90s early hiphop and RnB vibe with high octane pop overtones that I think you’ll both enjoy. This is one of my fav “getting ready” songs if I’m going out. So looking forward to grooving with you on this one. We just got the dance practise as a FESTA gift this year! Love this song and the performance at Soowoozoo was so chill , I loved it . Loved your song too Jordan, ( and your friend of course) sounded great. You are very talented ! You are right about Soowoozoo being great Jared, hope one day you can react to the entire concert, was one of my faves . The pandemic was “shit” but the positive I can take out of it was being able to watch Live BTS concerts online, it might have been an experience I may never have got before and this one was special, because I got to watch it simultaneously with my son who was at the time , living in Japan , and because of Covid, didn’t get to see for 3 1/2 years . regarding the Suga´s verse following the money. he means that the hip hop artists in korea is used to play for no money on the street at the beginning hoping for someone to notice you and sign you. but Suga was tired of starving all day. so he joined BTS where you get a place to live and food and training. in exchange for your soul basically. they needed to do what the company want from them. so it is not 100% your own will when you do music. that is the main issue the hip hop artist have against idols in korea. and i can understand that. But what suga and RM was offered was a mix between a hip hop group and an idol group something that never was before and Suga thought it could work like this. because both him and RM had the freedom to gain skills and write solo music on the side witch other groups is not allowed to do. So Suga was sad and angry when people said he was just greedy and followed the money. thinking he had become a puppet. But they didn´t know that BTS was deferent. dk think RM and Suga would have joined if it wasn´t deferent. so RM and Suga received alot of hate because of it and wanted to proof themself as artists.

Nailed it. I feel SO nostalgic listening to this song. The scent part really hits because nothing beats smelling a scent that reminds you of your childhood. I am a person that fears change. Bts making this song so easy to listen to encourages me to play it often. In doing so, the meaning and idea of getting comfortable with change is subconsciously drilled into my head. If I could only listen to 10 songs for the rest of my life, Moving On would 100% be one of them! Also, Jordan the song at the end is really good! Loved the verse 💜

HOC... HOOOOCCCC...OMGGGGGG, HOC... Hahahahaha, the imagery,,,it´s a freaking sexy song. I´ve said it before... kinda of jazzyyy, which I loveeeeee... but the imagery behind ittttt! It´s like... from the very beginning you can feel two people being attracked to each other. Looking at one another ... annnnnd as the song progresses... slowly coming closer... with bumbs on their way, but nothing stopping them. At some point... you feel they are just staring soooooo fearsly and deep down each other´s soulssssss, there´s nothing stopping them from getting to where they wanna be ... and thennnnnnn there´s the peak!!! The PEAK!!!! But... BUTTTTT... once they´ve reached that... somehow... they´ve been seperated... and in the end... even though... still looking at each other... they´ve walked away! I love hearing ARMYS stories about moving. The song is so emotional. My husband still remembers being upset about having to leave his first home. I’m must be weird. Moving with my family never meant anything to me. My friends became pen pals each time there was a move. After high school I never lived anywhere more than a year, occasionally two years. I went on a two month retirement motorcycle trip (for my fiancé) around the country. (cut short by desert storm) when school started my co-workers asked how I could stand being away from my ‘thing’? For so long. That sure startled me. Home is where I am. Listening to this song, and ARMYS, I sort of feel like I missed something in not having that sort of attachment. Back to the music…. Mmmm💕

Moving On is another song is a kinda funky jam pleasing to the ears. Nostalgic and meaningful once you know the lyrics. Sowoozoo was great! At some point you will want to watch both days straight through. There are also award shows that I don’t think you’ve reacted to yet. More new content in the future, award shows are amazing!
