Arthur didn't crash out, the Russian man was a spy, tommy gave the order to kill him... That's why he told the band to start playing loudly and for Jonny to start a big fire, he had to die. That's also why Arthur was mad, his job is basically to do the dirty work and he doesn't want to do that anymore cause it fucks with his head.
