Just realized on the rewatch Father Hughes is the same actor that plays King Viserys in HoD

John is doing what Tommy told everyone and what michael and arthur told lizzy which was no fraternizing with foreigner's, Ngl i thought tommy would agree with Pol and arthur too but i get why he didnt, Bc he doesnt agree with Apologizing and compromise, especially after all they did to get on top, and the italian was saying his son can be with whoever he wants but tommy told his people dont fuck with foreigners, which lizzy didnt listen to at first, butttt then you get things likes people coming to kill you but grace got shot instead

I agree with you kinda on tommy making things difficult but at the same time He started in that life and and if he left, its like that quote tommy said, "ill remember everything and forget nothing", which could be said by the people the peaky blinders have done dirty in the past

He started in that life and he can't leave it. Remember Tommy said that if they don't do what Churchill wants, they'll hang for one of there past crimes. Tommy is basically an informant to Churchill and has to spy, plot, and assassinate for Churchill and the Crown.

yeah it's messy business. John is a bit of a hot head, but he knows what Tommy wants to a T.
