Heck I grew up with both the Funi and Ocean dubs so I really like some of those pieces too but I am very glad you were able to watch these with the OG ost. The reason Vegeta didn't instantly resort to that is because creating the power ball is pretty taxing. I enjoy the dub but it does leave out vital details.

I was a bit older, but essentially the same. First anime I saw. Actually saw drawings of Goku that kids were drawing in the lunch room back in ~1998. Never was able to watch it in sequence. Even got a few VHS tapes of DBZ and freeza lol

I think that's an Ocean Dubism, like they were trying to make Goku more like Superman so his father Bardock was also a scientist. A brilliant scientist! Lol
