So Cross wasn’t controlling Maru when he went on a run rampage. Also at 17:05 when the old man says “the only time I had to run after a crushing defeat” the silhouette shown is Yuji( you can see the scars in his lip if you zoom in). At 22:30 the panel of the upside down dude is Mahito. If you can remember back to season 2 before yuji kills him Mahito says that he”ll just reincarnate after some years since he’s a cursed spirit, and Yuji says that he will be here waiting for Mahito to kill him again. Gege really in his bag with this spin off. This next span of chapters that you’re about to read are really good.

Also, the dialogue between Cross and Yuka… when yuka said that she would step on the tablet if it means that she would live because she could just ask for forgiveness. Cross said would you say the same thing if it were alive. It put into perspective how her not believing in Jesus didn’t allow her to see things from a Christian perspective because she didn’t perceive Jesus as real and living. It also ties into how humans potentially can’t understand the aliens. These chapters hit different when you get more context and go back

Damn. Chapter 7 was fucking heat. shits kinda crazy, my lil cousin a long time ago had a cancerous tumor and she’s no longer here, but her devotion to God seemed so pure and authentic, and it made me want to find that myself, it took 7 years but you could say i had revelation for myself and how i wanted to live life with all its complexities and uncertainty’s and learning to enjoy people and and things when we have them bc nothing last forever. I’m glad Yuka was there to tell cross that, if you want cycles to end, then it starts with yourself and us basically.

Really loving how they are using the characters too, we get to see 2 different versions of siblings. On the aliens side one is optimistic, and the other is pessimistic, and for Humans, one is Hopeful but seems stubborn and the other (yuka) is also Hopeful but seems free spirited.
