Mark is cool but the side characters definitely gotta carry sometimes cuz mark start trippin out of nowhere.

Criticalthe95

Forgot to say Brago, you gotta watch the Atom Eve special. It would flow well with this episode(the beginning portion).

RBIGUY27TZA

Cecil put it in his head while healing him after the Nolan fight when mark never did anything to justify it. If he went back with him he would of lobotomized him there’s no justification for that. If I’m Superman I’m not letting you put an instakill switch in my head for someone’s insecurities.

Criticalthe95

Yeah Mark was acting like Bitch foreal

Brago D Ace

Mark doesn’t have to do anything, Nolan is the everything. You can’t have that happen again, you just can’t. He is his son, so you have to put measures in place.

Jaden Hayes

Am I the only one who didn’t think Mark was wrong..

Jaden Hayes

I agree there should be checks and balances you’re right Brago. But Cecil putting a weapon in Marks head before he even did anything wrong was wild. Mark is not his dad and if you don’t trust me enough to not keep a leash on me like I’m your dog then I don’t need to work for you.

Brago D Ace

Yeah bro but we saw what Omni Man did to the world with no checks in place. Mark literally in every other universe is a bad guy, idk man. I’m with Cecil here.

Jaden Hayes

I get that man I really do. But for mark to have done nothing wrong and Cecil love that chip in his head because of what he “could” do.. just feels a little bs to me and I can’t blame for not trusting the guy

RBIGUY27TZA

If they wanted to defend themselves from Viltrumites they could put broadcasting equipment in every city loud enough to flood the city with the kaiju sound. The chip in Mark’s head was about controlling him dehumanizing him and making him a weapon saying come back to the lab instead of go home would’ve been to put more controls into his brain. Rudy hacked it in under a minute and he’s from earth. What happens when others hack in and don’t jam it? The Chip was just to make Mark into a reanimen not for protecting earth.

Brago D Ace

This isn’t just about Viltrumites, it’s about Mark. If he decides to go crazy like Nolan did who’s to stop him? Idk how we can say it’s just to control Mark, when we see behind the curtain for Cecil and he’s a patriot through and through. He put himself on the line many times for earth. Mark has shown immaturity and inconsistency in judgment, we need a failsafe for him. Yea it’s inhumane, well Mark’s not exactly human 😂

John Boy

I agree with you. Cecil is trampling over ethical and free will boundaries.

John Boy

but none of those Marks' are this Mark. Each Mark is there own being, making there own choices good or bad.

John Boy

I don't see a problem with Mark telling the guy that's a victim of a Mad Genius that he's not behind bars. That's what we do today, it's the law that victims have the right to be notified of changes to an offenders status. It's part of the Victims Crimes Rights Act. That's actually why the Epstein file's were released, they failed to notify the victims of Epstein's "sweetheart" deal in the early 2008. Federal judges ruled that was illegal due to VCRA.

Jaden Hayes

Yeah I agree I think Brago is a lil off on this one. Just because we understand Cecil’s motives doesn’t make it right. Especially when he had that weapon implanted before Mark even did any wrongdoing. Ultimately what it is, it that Cecil wanted mark on a chain so he could control him and that ain’t right. Marks powers are cool when they’re being used to Cecil, but not other than that? That’s wack.

Brago D Ace

What’s the downside? If he doesn’t run amok, no harm no foul. If he does well… we have a way to stop him.

Brago D Ace

I honestly don’t even think superheroes should be able to use their powers however they see fit. There should be laws to govern that too. What Omni man did changed how I viewed this aspect of “free will”. The downside of these heroes changing their mind is too great.

Brago D Ace

This isn’t about right or wrong really but about necessity as a friend. For me, I just wouldn’t do that right now. Mark is obnoxiously honest, which at times is for the sake of one’s own conscience.

Jaden Hayes

Honestly the way my hero did it was pretty neat with the hero license and such. But bro that’s the risk they take dealing with supers. Again, it’s cool that Mark is strong and all when the earth is in danger, but when it isn’t mark has to be put on a leash? Is he their hero or not? And you keep bringing up the Omni man point.. let’s not forget Cecil knew exactly what he was doing with Nolan.. he knew Nolan was lying, he knew he had some ulterior motives. He still chose to use him as a weapon anyway that was his fault.

Jaden Hayes

Let’s not forget, Mark didn’t go off the deep end with Cecil until he seen all the shit he was doing behind his back. Prior to that Mark was literally his lap dog that would do anything he says. Cecil messed it up for himself messing up Marks trust.

Brago D Ace

Because what else was he going to do? There was nothing he could do to stop him. So we slow play it until we figure out how to. The Omni man point is the key to all of it because so many people died, it’s like 9/11. After that everything changes, for everybody.

Jaden Hayes

There was no slow play.. there was no figured out what we’re going to do.. had Mark not been there and been who he was, Omni-man would’ve done exactly what it is he planned to do. Cecil seen him as a means to an end. Just like he sees the other criminals he lets on his payroll only Omni-man happened in reverse. But the key factor here is our Mark is different. He’s different than all the other Marks. He’s the reason Nolan was saved. I get Cecil might not see it like that, but again putting a weapon in Marks head was wrong, he didn’t treat any other super like that. He wanted to keep mark chained up that’s the reality of it

Brago D Ace

That’s my point. He didn’t treat any super like that, so why do you think he did that to Mark specifically?

Jaden Hayes

Doing it off the premise of what he “could do” is wrong Brago. He also “could’ve” just joined his father and helped enslave the planet like many other Marks. He could’ve killed several people by now and he hasn’t because he’s shown he’s different, and the one person he did kill full and well deserved it, and even then he didn’t want to and was conflicted about it because that’s who OUR mark is.. the fight with the Maulers should’ve shown you this.. you were getting pissed at Mark getting his ass kicked by the maulers but he knew he could handle it. You really think Oliver was stronger than Mark in that fight or something? Of course not Mark could’ve done that at any point if he wanted. But he is not his father he is human. None of that matters anyway cuz Cecil already put the weapon in his head to control him. That’s what it’s all about Brago, control.

Jaden Hayes

Mark tried to leave several times during that conversation.. and every single time Cecil stopped him. Yet Cecil was supposed to be fearing for his life, no? That doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. He wanted Mark to shut up and be a good boy and he wasn’t falling in line it was never about Mark being dangerous it was about Cecil controlling him.

Brago D Ace

I think we have to establish this isn't based on what i know, this is judging the situation from Cecil's perspective. My view is that i get it, this isn't a moral convo, its a whether or not this is neccessary. You say "our Mark" but that was "our Nolan". I get why Cecil wants to have ways to stop him, he's too powerful. This isn't a thing he's doing acorss the board, tbh i think he gives them too much leeway. For Mark specifically, its like Batman having a kryptinite bug on Superman, just in case. Its a little fucked up, but after your dad leveled a city, i'm cautous. Because if you decide you don't wanna do this anywhere like you said, choice. We are at your mercy.

Jaden Hayes

Kryptonite doesn’t harm Superman only weaken him but I get it, same sentiment. My question is, what’s stopping Mark from doing that exact thing now? Only difference between now and then is that Cecil has pissed him off and he isn’t on his side anymore because he was being shady, but if Mark wanted to, he and Oliver could level cities rn. But he’s not, because he’s our Mark. Cecil’s genius ideas put him at odds with the strongest person on the planet. Cecil also knows the viltrumites are coming back and Mark is quite literally their only defense against them.. sounds like him trusting and being honest with Mark was a better idea to me 🤷🏽‍♂️

Jaden Hayes

This is twice now (his father and Anissa) mark has had the chance to side with his people and help take over the planet and he chose to side with the people of earth. That should’ve been enough for Cecil to get his head out of his ass and realize this Mark is different. I’m not saying I don’t understand his motives cuz I do. “You can be the guy who saves the world, or you can be the good guy.. but you can’t be both”. I get it but I still think he made the wrong decision there.
