I love these guys so much! Kept one for months when I lived in the US :)

Gonna do one last LTT doodle and then I'll take a break from the comic for at least a month, as I need time to a.) work on other neat things b.) write next chapter's scenario (exciting!!!!) and c.) actually take a little break from work haha

Patreon will continue to be updated with various doodles and things while summer happens!

Thank you so so much for your support!!

We have tiny ones where I live, but just the other side of the state there are the massive green ones with huge wings and an attitude that would make even the yappiest dog say "dude, chill." I encountered one in a laundromat and she considered the whole building her territory.

Ours match their color to the native grasses (right now they should be a pale yellowish color) as the seasons progress. When I worked at a garden center in one of the big-box hardware stores, I would carry one on my straw hat all day. Thanks for the term ootheca!

That's so fun! I remember one time spotting a mantis on a bush as I was just starting out on a big group walk around town. I nabbed the little friend and it hung out on my shirt throughout the whole walk, then left it near the same bush I had found it on. A very well-traveled little tiny thing!

Wow, they have camouflage, five eyes, grip-hook climbing arms and wings? They're like the Boba Fett/Batman of the insect world!

Mantises might be tiny by our standards, but they are a giant among insects. I recently saw a video of a mantis preying on various dangerous specimens, and they are deadly. (Some species of giant hornets are their match, though.)

the tiny little (and very very fragile) nimphs are simply adorable ^^ <3

They're such interesting critters!
