Hey everyone!

Super sorry in advance if I sound a bit defeated and dont talk as much, I'm currently sick and my throat hurts hueheu, just a heads up but im okay <3

Either way, this episode was a bit tough for me. Having the girls talk about meal plans etc with the team at HYBE made me really sad. This is one of the things I dont like about KPOP, the strict meal plans etc. I feel like a lot of groups especially girl groups deal with this insane body ideal thing so much, they literally develop eating disorders and its so heartbreaking to see. All i want for them is to be healthy especially when you work so hard :(

I'm glad to see Sakura being there as a big sister for the group. Her having debuted 3 times already and being an active idol for so many years is honestly a big blessing to LSF. I feel like everyone can rely on her a lot <3

What I really love about Serafim is that they tell the staff what they think, for example, with Sakura and Cheawon about their weight and what they should do. They say the staff shouldn't pressure them about it they'll do it themselves if they need to, like eating salad, etc. Whereas many K-pop groups don't dare tell their staff how they did it, and I love that. Also, how they protect and support each other so they don't feel pressured, etc. That's what made me love them and they're my favorite girl group.

The body standards in the K-pop industry really go way too far and are harmful to the health of all idols. Even though I can understand, to a certain extent, the idea that idols are supposed to look “perfect,” it simply goes way too far. Unfortunately, these standards aren't just demanded by companies but also by many fans, which I find even worse. The only positive thing in this example was that the more experienced members, like Sakura and Chaewon, stood up against it. However, I still think it’s important that such critical topics are addressed and shown in both documentaries. And Le Sserafim—especially Yunjin—have made many important statements early in their careers; they can be very proud of that, and we as fans should be too. <3 <3 <3

Hope you feel better soon, Jess. Honestly the unrealistic body/beauty standards and toxic fandom makes it hard to be a fan sometimes. I want to support all the groups I follow and I love to see them succeed and be happy, but the darker stuff is always at the back of my mind. I'm always hoping that they are as happy as they look and that they have good support in their lives.

Also, what I find even more infuriating about this episode, is that Eunchae and Garam had to listen to this, they were aroud 15, being told that their weight shouldn't fluctuate, and that they should go on diets and stuff... Like, of course their weight is gonna fluctuate, they're still growing...

All of this content, including pre-debut teaser recordings and photos for the FEARLESS album cover, is available in full on Le Sserafim's YouTube channel; it's great content to watch.

The song you were listening to in the documentary is "Blue Flame." You'll see the performance at the debut showcase. They perform FEARLESS and BLUE FLAME.

For your information, most of what the members are preparing in this video is part of their debut promotion. LE SSERAFIM uploaded several videos introducing the members ahead of their debut, as well as trailers for their debut album, and you can still watch them on HYBE’s official YouTube channel.

When I first watched this episode I also got confused about the meeting where Sakura & Chaewon speak up, but apparently the English subs are just a very loose translation of what they actually said, so that Source Music (their label) wouldn't look too bad. Someone who knows Korean explained to me that basically what they said was "the members have been strugling all this time, it took toll on our body and our mind. We gave our best in everything and we don't want to be criticized about our body. The members also aware of their own body and has been doing good ourselves. If we feel like we gain weight we would eat just salad the next day and work out. We've been doing fine. I hope in the future y'all (the company) let us to having full control about our body"

For me Sakura is probably one of the smartest, most well-spoken, professional and wise (not sure that's the right word?) idols in the industry. She's seen so much, has very clear views and ideas about who she wants to be and who she is, while also being super hard working & down to earth and respectful to everyone. Like I have so much respect for every single idol, but I dont think anyone is beating my respect for Sakura.
