This is when things started to get real bad for An Yujin. The cruel backlash online targeting her hair, outfits, performances and "ungrateful attitude" was so massive MNet had to edit her out of almost all the remaining episodes and regulated to being background if ever shown on screen. Why her reaction in the final episode was so jarring and intense.

When Yujin expressed disappointment for dropping from rank 2 to 4 in Episode 8, some people in South Korea and Japan viewed it as being ungrateful and disrespectful to the girls who got eliminated. This started a cascading effect of people then dogpiling on her for cutting her hair short from the earlier episodes. So much that she had to wear extensions near the end of the show. They started to view her as being spoiled by too much screen time from early on in the series as well, referring to her as a unprofessional brat. Fighting for center of I AM over Lee Ga Eun was another point of contention with netizens. Going so far as to say she stole it from her. The rest may be spoilers so I won't say atm. This is just my view, but I think Yujin became the hate outlet around Episode 8 for people whose bias got eliminated or ranked low. Yujin was an easy target as she was very young, tomboyish and that kid next door vibe. Yunjin got a little of this hate as well; but to a lessor extent. None of it was justifiable or fair.
