As I am watching The Bear I noticed I have a very different perspective on the show than a lot of people. I am very pro Carmy. I have noticed people view him as a villain but he hasn't done anything villainous in my opinion.

Joel Mchales character was villainous, evil even. Shapiro was also quite toxic when we first see him in the Forks episode talking about the smudge.

Carmy yells and he gets highly fixated on his projects but he doesn't disparage anyone or is condescending in anyway. Just very interesting how we all have different perspectives I suppose.

big thought ramble: i personally don't think of carmy as a villain, but he is just honestly someone that's hard to work with since he's not really open, he's closed quite shut. which is understandable of course but that causes a lot of misunderstandings and friction with some people he's working with and he's not the only one. a lot of them are like that really. which is why i don't really see people are 'villains' it's just a....state of being, someone is in until they can move past it, and into the next. (unless someone's truly evil and mean-spirited) on sydney... she's quite a complex character imo, and i don't mean this in the 'ohh she's just so deep with so many layers' way, even though yes - she has layers but more so; who she is...or her identity is not quite found yet? which could represent even herself in the show and it could be, how she feels.. which is why i'm picking up on it. i also don't see her as someone who necessarily wants 'control'. once again. i think it's easy to read her as abrasive and controlling since her delivery sucks but she comes off as super ambitious to me personally, who was (and still is) always ready to collaborate, and she collaborated with carmy a lot in the beginning. all she really wants is to contribute and feel apart of something, or yk - that her ideas are being considered even if they're not chosen, that it truly feels like a 'team' and recently, she's not been able to do that, like even a little bit this season. i think it especially affects her, since carmy was quite interested? or inspired? to work with her at first. that he even proposed to invite her into 'the bear' project. i also remember when she first joined, she's already tried her own business thing and that failed, and she also experiences some sort of trauma from working in certain kitchens, similar to carmy. which contributes to her anxiety struggles. so seeing the bear turn into that kind of environment for her this season was maybe a little tough for her. she does have a lot to work on, but i'm thinking the reason she doesn't have a 'dedicated' episode to her 'growth' is because, every-time we see her, that's apart of it. she's perhaps the toughest shell to crack in there, other than carmy... and i think this arc is maybe pushing her TO GROW slowly but surely, and what direction that is? we don't know for now. but i digress, and i ramble !
