now you know how britt lower got that emmy I’m remember watching as it was airing thinking how are we only on episode 4?! Read an interesting medium article for the inevitable redemption of helena mentioning along the lines of Helena’s Genuine Connection to Mark. It would be excessively easy to throw this away and say that Helena is a spoiled nepo-baby who always gets her way — just manipulating Mark to get what she wants. We don’t see any evidence for this. Born into power? Sure. In the same way that women of antiquity were born into power, but had no agency. It’s not the same. Helena witnesses and is greatly impacted by Helly kissing Mark — to the point where she replays the video over and over. She knows Mark is the one who saved her when Helly attempted to kill herself. Like Helly before her, Helena glows warmly in the light of Mark’s genuine affection and care. In episode 4, when Helena — without prompting — tells Mark that she’s ashamed of who she is on the surface, it could be a lie, but at the same time that makes no sense. She already lied to the MDR team, a lie that would not require that kind of admission and Mark’s affection for Helly clouded his judgment, he would have believed anything she told him. Instead, she decides to tell him the truth — a partial truth — but the truth no less. Controversially, perhaps, I believe Helena’s feelings for Mark are real. Intense, childlike, but real. Helena has access to so many things, but genuine love and affection are not one of them. This aligns with the question and themes of the show — who are we and what transcends severance

When Irving figures out that Helly is really her Outie posing as an Innie, he attempts to drown her in order to get Helly back. His plan works. Mr. Milchick calls someone back at Lumon and demands that they "remove the Glasgow Block." this isn't the first time the word "Glasgow" has come up in Severance. In Season 1, episode 8, when Dylan prepared to launch the Overtime Contingency, he also saw a list of several other functions the severed chips can perform. Among them are Beehive, Elephant, Freeze Frame, and Glasgow. It seems like the Glasgow function blocks an Innie persona from waking up entirely, allowing their Outie to be in control at all times, even on the Severed Floor. If you go back and watch the first 3 episodes you can tell it was helena
