Tbh I knew that we were getting that ending with the intro even telling us I feel awful for Gemma, but I do also sympathize with Mark S at the end. When the moment comes, he simply doesn't want to step through a doorway that very well might kill him instantly. And not only kill him, but possibly everyone else he knows (if his Outie takes down Lumon). If we accept that Mark S is a full human being who deserves rights and autonomy, and we accept that his needs and feelings are real, then it's easy to understand why he chose not to give up the love of his life for the sake of someone else's "happy ending." also britt lower said that look at end where's she looking at gemma is her first time sensing emphany towards an outtie it's rough decision she told him to leave but he did not want to go, 10 minutes together or ten years together - whatever they can get, they will take. It doesn’t matter to where they are running but whom they are running with. iMark owed oMark nothing when it comes to his choice finally - he is a person too (this is what the show was all along). As an audience I love this show for the innes :) but can’t wait for the ACTUAL MDR Uprising - foreshadowing they just take over the severed floor their own community.helly showed up down the hallway because she wanted one last look at him. she wasn't asking him to stay. she's been the one trying to convince him leave. helly said that maybe his outie wasn't lying and that mark might have a real chance at living on the outside. helly reminded him she was an eagan when he said he wanted to live with her. helly convinced him to finish cold harbor when mark said he could just leave it undone and leave gemma trapped below. she locked milchick in the bathroom and instigated an entire coup to give him time to save gemma. all she wanted was one last look at the man who gave her life meaning. saw this comment on reddit: Audience: Save that man's wife Mark S: Okay done Audience: Now kill yourself Mark S: ... Audience: In front of Helly Mark S: runs away Audience: I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS GUY

It's so conflicting. They're all people, and he doesn't want to die. That look from Helly stood out to me too though. That bothers me, a lot. I think, yeah, the intent of the Gemma experiment is a method of control, maybe to be distributed globally considering they had PR galas trying to sell Severance at the end of the last season. If they can sever people 25 times, then there's essentially no autonomy left. For anyone, ever. Everyone is essentially reduced back to the mental level of a child as many times as they want, and then they can be indoctrinated and even kept in the cult as many times as Lumon needs. It wouldn't take much for them to establish an entire nation state of mind controlled people, which is so scary to even think about as a sci-fi fictional thing. I think Jame Eagan talks about it a little last season finale. Gemma getting out is so huge, so huge, if this experiment succeeded who knows if society would have been okay in this world. But anyway...thanks so much for watching Imon. There'll be a third season coming out fairly soon and I'm so interested to know where it goes. This show means so much to me, I almost ended up human trafficked when I was just in middle school, and nothing before or since has helped me process and deal with all those feelings good and bad as much as this show does, I don't know if anything will ever again. I've heard that people who escape Scientology, Mormonism/the LDS church, and Jehovah's Witnesses feel this show resonate so much too. Thanks for letting us watch with you, take good care everyone🫂✌️❤️
