The show loves a good twist. Aida was innocent and just following what her creator wanted like she was programmed to do. She is working perfectly it is the creator that is corrupted. Just in case you didn't see last post I linked the slingshot series there. You don't have to react to it but it gives some info on the beginning of the season.

Unfortunately he never comes back and has never been addressed again. As far as I know there’s no official reason but I found some consideration of certain production factors post S4. S5 got a budget cut and the show was expected to be cancelled, so the finale was written as a series finale. The show ended up renewed for S6 between the penultimate and final episode of 5, so the story was written a specific way and was also assumed to be cancelled afterward, but then we got 7, which did end up as the final and also has it’s own specific kind of story. So circumstances may have just forced Vijay to be left unresolved in-show In comics, a secondary terrigenesis can result in stronger powers and/or a more monstrous form which can result in complications. This plays a factor in the Inhumans show, which was received so poorly it was cancelled after one season, so an article speculates this might have been why Vijay was dropped
