To comment on your comments at the start before I watch your episode reaction. THANK YOU! Many people who have watched the show agree with your statements. It is by far the most underrated Marvel series. I was there during the time the show first premiered and if you go back to the first season there were valid criticism of the monster of the week style of storytelling because it felt familiar but the biggest thing that reviewers would complain about was the lack of Avengers on the show since they were still feeling the highs of the first avenger movie. They would pick apart every episode and complain about how all the characters were basic and one dimensional and characters like Ward were bland and predictably a cardboard cutout hero. This caused lots of viewers to drop off even before the mid season of season one when the answers to plot started coming. Those same people would then go on to tell others about how Shield sucked and was boring and directionless causing more people to drop it during the second half right before everything big happens. After that the show was regard as nothing by the marvel community while the people that continued watching saw the improvements and payoffs but by then it was too late and shows like daredevil and Jessica jones stole the spotlight as the new amazing Marvel shows. But shield kept going in the background improving every season and keeping its small fan base entertained and we kept telling others how good it is but most just can't get past those first episodes. So every year the budget got smaller but the writers still pull off amazing storylines but the viewers weren't there so many just assumed it wasn't good enough to check out.

This episode came out during you know who's first term so the obvious parallels are there and the path that seemed so crazy a few years ago is closer than ever to being exactly how it is in the framework.

You're watching the highest rated, most viewed, and most profitable marvel show ever. Those are facts. If you ask any AOS fan if they could get 10 more seasons of this and never watch another marvel project they would choose this. Glad you're enjoying it

This was such a crazy time when this came out but this show stays with the surprises

I’m so glad you re loving this show so much! Madame Hydra/Aida was in another ABC show I love but was overlooked a lot called Galavant. It was recently further victimized when Disnet took it off Disney Plus for a write off. Let’s be thankful they haven’t done the same to AoS…yet 😩.

I was gonna say about the show being underaplreciated but someone else here put it way better and more thoroughly This pod is a hell of a ride Yeah so May’s regret was changed to have her save the girl, but the girl was still crazy with power. So in the virtual history where that was incorporated she was brought to US and killed people. Virtual Hydra seized the opportunity to emerge as the “truthspeakers” against inhumans and took over. Not an intended change, just the way the dominos fell in that scenario And of course the Ward that’s actually good is fake! Hydra director Aida is a spin on Madame Hydra, their top female operative. If you’ve somewhat kept up with the movies and shows you should actually know another version of her not connected to Hydra. Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus I might be forgetting, but it’s only the kidnapped people placed in the framework who have actively had their regrets erased. May, Phil, Mack, and Fitz
