The 100th episode of Shield celebrates this long beautiful journey with Coulson since he died in the Avengers and it gives us Fitzsimmons wedding. Deke reveal is fun and hilarious in hindsight. The first time Fitz sees him he threatened to cut his throat open for betraying Daisy.

Episode 100!!! “Why is this show so good and so stressful?!” Another viable tagline for the show To conjecturaly delve a bit more into why Coulson had to pay this price-the Rider tends to target rule breakers and criminals of the higher moral nature. But that’s usually reserved for people who commit really bad sins or renege on demonic deals, or demons that leave/escape from hell and cause havoc on Earth, that kind of thing. Coulson and his resurrection may not be malicious, but he was still brought back to life with a man made concoction derived from alien blood. He may not have been a target for the Rider but definitely a qualifier for someone who’s technically breaking the rules, so burning away the GH325 so Coulson can die as he should’ve a while ago tracks We got Davis back! The FitzSimmons knot is finally tied! 🎉 And the reveal that Deke is FitzSimmons grandson!
