KuroganeManor

He was able to get nen awakened because he took a nen attack

I believe Hisoka said Illumi was somewhat weaker than him. Im not sure if thats right though.

Killua twisting that ant’s head around is on of my favorite scenes of HxH like the way it was animated was so cool

Dozens died during the Hunter exam, hundreds got merked by the Phantom Troupe, the Bomber had a giant body count. The death and mayhem has always been there.

Fasquin

Actually hundreds died during the hunter exam, we just never saw all of them. Remember that about 400 started and then there were still hundreds left after the tunnel. Then only about 50 survived swindlers swamp.

Chris V

Thousands* thousands got merked by the Phantom Troupe. Remember when the mafia dude was asking where back up was and he got shook when he that they all got slaugthered? 2000 dudes. Gone.

Eric Quan

Remember when you first learn about nen. There was a tradition at the Heavens Arena, where they fire off a nen attack to new blood which awakens their nen, but also sometimes cripples them. This is similar, but the chimera ants body are more durable than regular humans

Ive never heard that, are you talking about when later Hisoka rates Illumi a 95? If so Hisoka cant always be used as a reliable source of information, esp. when it comes to power and skill. Hisoka is shrewd, but also quite over confident, and obsessed with power and battles usually to the death, to the point of recklessness and sometimes (near) insanity. So I dont think he can be completely reliable and trustworthy for those reasons and some others. Either way, I dont think there is any clear confirmation that Illumi is somewhat weaker than Hisoka (at most there might be some evidence from Hisoka that Illumi is, but you can also say there is probably just as much evidence from Illumi that Hisoka is somewhat weaker than him. Either way, I dont think either are reliable sources), I think they are relatively equal, each though may have the one up on the other in certain areas. Basically, we cant be sure rather its right or wrong if Illumi is somewhat weaker than Hisoka, is my point.
