Yeah, those comments are coming from people who know the big picture and you're on the journey. All you can do is go ep by ep!

This is my brain 24/7 unless I'm asleep or high (weed, not real drugs).

Purple Hearts

This one of my favorite episodes and probably the one that affect me the most the first time i watched it. I also have that voice in some of my more depressing days and moments and never knew how to describe it or vocalize it until this seeing this episode. I also didn't realize other people had similar experiences. One great thing about this show and the honestly it tackles mental health issues is how it builds a fanbase and community of people who understand and relate to the problems addressed. I've also been there where family members affect you but years later they wont even acknowledge what occurred. Worst is when they accuse it of being a delusion because of the way you think, gaslighting 101. Sorry you both have to go through that with your mothers. Its sad that Hollyhock is beginning to go through the same cycle as well; major depression is known to be hereditary. The good news is Beatrice is starting to look a bit more active with the baby.

Been trying for the better half of a year to break myself out of this cycle of internal thoughts that Bojack seems to be going through. It's hard, and COVID certainly doesn't help, but practice makes progress. It's helpful to have shows like this and then to hear discussions like yours! Knowing that everyone (or at least most people) have or have had these same cyclical thoughts. I have been loving the reactions and I loved your discussion on this episode. Thank you :)

Chris

The episode you two are talking about at the beginning is one of those episodes that does make more sense on the second viewing. Not because it's so dense with info or because you might miss something. In my opinion the episode has such a different way of telling it's story it can be a bit jarring where it leaves you with the feeling "wait what's happening". I didn't have a problem with your reaction or discussion because when I first watched the ep I reacted the same way but I do appreciate you taking the time to talk about it a little more in this ep............ Now where's Dr. Stone S2!? lol jk 😊

Dune

I definitely still have those days. Where my mind races with negative thoughts about myself. Similar to imon, it usually happens when I'm stressed out or when things aren't going my way .

I really appreciate your vulnerability and how open you both are when discussing this show. Like you said, different parts of the show resonate with different people and I love the conversation that you had for this episode. I also recommend, when you finish the series, going back and rewatching certain episodes because they become much more impactful with context that's later given. This episode and Old Sugarman Place in particular are ones that really get better the more you watch them because you pick up on hints and foreshadowing that you really only get when you have seen the full story.

Depression is a motherfucker. That is what this episode is all about. If you've never been depressed, you're probably not going to relate much at all. Otherwise, you'll know exactly what's going on.

Yeah I deal with this very intimately. To the point where it honestly encompass most of my days. Because of a lot of past traumas from stuff from sexual physical and emotional when messed up stuff happens to you trying to ever let that stuff go and not have it affect your day-to-day life is damn near impossible unless you are taking something to not pay attention to it. Plus with me I also have disabilities Aspergers narcolepsy so with that on top of everything it’s OK a very reliable problem that he is going through where I have been overwhelmed with grief and sadness and just doubt that even though I can try and try and try it just never seems like anything really works for me. And I think deeper and deeper and deeper into this whole day I feel like I don’t know what to do. Only thing I can think of doing to survive. But what does that involve I don’t know probably while I’m doing our more stuff but until I find a thing I don’t know. And this stuff is very relatable to me. Even with the family and the trust stuff I’ve yeah sorry for all the stuff
