I want to help, so I created a tutorial on how to color models correctly in your slicer.

This is a pretty common problem, and that’s exactly why I’m here to help!

Most well-designed models are intentionally made so they can be split into separate parts in the slicer. This allows you to easily assign a different color to each part, exactly as intended when the model was designed.

I often see people import models into OrcaSlicer or Bambu Studio and immediately start using the Paint tools to add colors. Unfortunately, this often leads to terrible results

PAINT TOOLS(Wrong coloring)

Paint tools are usually best used only for models that aren’t split into separate parts.

SPLIT TO PARTS(Right coloring)

Most creators, including me, design their flexi models and clickers so they can be split into separate parts in the slicer, allowing you to easily assign your own colors to each part.

Here’s a little tip to make coloring much faster!

Select a part from the Objects panel on the left, then simply press a number on your keyboard to assign the filament color.

This can make coloring your models much faster!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

I love when I can just select this way - makes my life so much easier. The paint tool is such a painfully thing, I use it for something that is only 2 colours, and it will split the colours, but thats only after trying to see if I can split it into parts!
