Well... I never thought I would write these words, but soon, the story Might as Well is going to reach 1 million words. (At least according to RoyalRoad...)

Ten to the power of six.

So I thought I would do something nice to celebrate it.

That's why I'm here: How would my readers react to a bit of AU (Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence) action for the story? I created a framework for a bit of AU (maybe a few chapters) and was wondering if people would be interested in it.

It wouldn't be from the MC point of view, but from a completely new character if that helps with the decision.

Mostly a side-story about a new character. Technically it would happen in the world of MaW but wouldn't affect the main story.

As i am not sure what "AU" means. My idea: Maybe a story of an other guild/group/player. That plays the game in an other nation/continent in the game. And one of their members is a reader of a story about the original timeline (as in before solar transmigratet(?) as sam). But that story started after an event that just does not seem to happen (because of solar). But they do not seem to know about him because they have no interest in what has happened in solars homecountry. Naturaly before roserun.

Congrats on Milestone. Personally I like side stories that add more possible depth to the world (just like I love the interludes). Not sure about the AU idea. But you do whatever you think you'll enjoy writing the most. It is your milestone after all :)
