This is one of my favorite episodes of DW. The lifespan of a companion in a single day, both future & past, robots, a mystery that even the doctor didn't figure out in the end. The ship being named after her at the end explains why the robots said "we are the same" and wanted her for the final part.

Enjoyable as always Emme. The chemistry between David and the actress who played Madame de Pompadour, Sophia Myles, was pretty captivating. They dated for a while after meeting during this episode, as I understand it.

This episode was written by Stephen Moffat who is the showrunner for seasons 5-10 (he also wrote The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances). One of my favorite things about the episodes he writes is that he really plays with the idea of time travel. Sometimes space/time travel is just a vehicle to a location for the interesting story and sometimes space/time travel is part of the plot. I think the magic of Doctor Who really shines in the latter.
