This was such a fun sci-fi concept that realistically brought all these things together in a compact way. The daleks crashed through realities in a void ship, the cybermen found a way to travel through the consequent cracks, and then alt-world cyber-fighters developed the tech, too. The epicenter of this event is Torchwood, the season long mystery word, and we get to see the main recurring characters (the Doctor, Rose, Jackie, Mickey) fighting the two biggest bads of the show so far. The mystery of this episode unfolds so naturally and quickly that you don't really have time to get ahead of it. Plus the humor in this episode is great. Overall, I think it's just really great writing. I can't wait for you to see the next episode! Doctor Who really knows how to do high-stakes finales.

dont watch torchwood yet. It spoils some stuff in the next season

Season 1 of Torchwood aired before S3 of Doctor Who so it's fully safe to watch, as it was the original intended watch order.

I love this cliffhanger, it's one of my favourites in any show ever. I've come to realise the way they spoil the cyberman reveal near the start of the episode is genius, because it lulls the audience into thinking that it's just a cyberman story. Normally I'd be mad that they showed cybermen so early and ruined the mystery, but in retrospect it's such a good choice to give the Dalek reveal way more punch because the audience has already had half an hour to get used to the Cybermen being back

Also, as an 8 year old on release, this episode was all anyone in the school playground was talking about for the whole week, the way it blew every kids tiny mind in 2006 lol

Oh okay. Just was worried it would spoil stuff. btw thanks for being civil and informing me otherwise. Too many go directly to insults and derogatory language these days.
