What I loved the most about the final episode was seeing Kamala’s friends following along her plan, the community including the cops stepping in to help her, and Yusuf’s heart-to-heart which gave rise to Kamala’s superhero codename Ms. Marvel. 10:26 that song is Anthem performed by a hip hop group called the Swet Shop Boys from their mini album Sufi La. One of their members happens to be none other than Riz Ahmed. He portrayed Bohdi Rook, the pilot who defected from the Galactic Empire in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The Swet Shop Boys haven’t made much music together as a group, but when you put Riz on the mic watch out. 15:14 that’s the same sonic cannon that was used on the Hulk in his movie. 15:40 Addie Counts pretty much said the same thing when she saw this show a year ago. 20:12 Quite the contrary, I think Kamala will have trouble picking a husband. She may have a lot in common with Kamran, but she and Bruno have known each other for far longer. Not all superhero couples need to have both soul mates with super powers. Bruno is already exceptional, he really cares about her, and her family seems to trust him. The term “embiggen” is Kamala’s signature move. Originally, it allowed her to grow up to the size of a giant similar to Ant-Man. Just like him though, she can’t maintain a giant form for long. I wanted to tell you this in the first episode, but I felt it would’ve spoiled too much at the time. In the comics, Kamala is able to stretch her limbs like Mr. Fantastic. They changed the origins of her powers for this show because it would’ve felt too similar to him and her idol is Captain Marvel who specializes in cosmic energy. 23:10 I can’t tell you how glad I am that you saw the first X-Men film, and I hope you’ll check out the rest in good time. When Bruno said mutation, you can hear a sample of the intro to X-Men: The Animated Series. In the comics, Kamala was originally supposed to be a mutant. They wanted to include her in the MCU at some point, but at the time they were creating her 20th Century Fox still owned the character film rights to X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic Four. So they decided to increase her chances of appearing in the MCU by writing her as an inhuman similar to Black Bolt who you met as one of the Illuminati in Multiverse of Madness. However, after Disney acquired Fox, they were finally able to move forward with the original plan. While we wait for you to get to The Marvels, Iman Vellani herself took part in co-writing a new limited comic run for her character. It’s called Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant. More recently, Iman also co-wrote a follow-up 4-part comic run called Mutant Menace. All eight issues are available now wherever comics are sold. Now that you made it this far, I can also tell you about an upcoming animated show called Marvel Zombies. It takes place in the zombie apocalypse dimension from What If season 1 and it follows the events of that same episode. It’s gonna be TV-MA (17+) since they promised it’ll have way more gore. The reason I bring this up is because Ms. Marvel is the most recent MCU character who will join a zombie resistance. The rest of the lineup confirmed so far consists of the following: Jimmy Woo Yelena Belova Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian Shang-Chi His best friend Katy Chen Death Dealer (the Ten Rings operative with the white mask) And last but not least, Kate Bishop. The first season of Marvel Zombies will consist of four episodes. Iman confirmed a few months ago that she already finished her recording sessions for the new show.
