Normally when I watch your reactions I have already seen, or at least I know the thing your are reacting to. This was a film I never heard about and I am not that familiar with Anime films in general. I cannot put into words how glad I am to have seen this beautiful film now! I just watched it and it is by far the best thing I have seen this year. I wouldn't mind at all if you would choose to react to more Anime in future (for selfish reasons..!)

I got halfway through the edited version and then realized I should just be rewatching the entire movie, so here we are. Your suspicions about a more bittersweet ending where they don't meet up back up are justified! In one of the director's previous films, there's a similar pass-by of two long lost friends/lovers where they don't turn around and end up just moving on with their separate lives. Knowing that going into this ending, I was afraid they were going to do the same thing to us again despite all the hints/teases.
