This is, without a doubt, my all time favourite season of Doctor Who and this episode, which is probably one of the weaker ones in it, is still great fun. Sontar-HA!

Oh man, what a season. This show gets me with the cliffhangers! And UNIT!! Gosh I love seeing Unit again. They really are the "Red Shirts" of Doctor Who (Star Trek reference for you), and to finally get some time with some of the grunts like Ross haha ... oh Ross. :) Anyway, so glad you're enjoying this! Keep it up, because it's only getting started lol

Serving with UNIT was such an important part of the doctor’s history, I appreciate that they brought it back for new who. You asked about seeing the backstory… it’s all there on Britbox lol. This is just another reason why I love Donna. Rose was always jealous in a territorial way and Martha was always jealous in a sad way. Donna is just thrilled to be traveling with the doctor and has no weird ownership over him or the experience. It’s just so dang healthy. I think there’s also something to be said for her age. Rose was 19 and Martha was 23. Those are ages when you’re still figuring out who you are and where you stand in the world. Donna will change and evolve with her Tardis experiences but she’s already a fully developed adult. She has life experiences under her belt and a complete sense of self and you can feel it in her character. And I love that.
