Well we made it. This was the very first piece of fiction that made me cry all those years ago when it aired.

Lyssa Barr

If no one has suggested it, there is a scene you should watch before moving on that was never filmed. It is on YouTube titled Doctor Who: P.S. - Series 7 2012 - BBC

Diljabar

The music that plays during the rooftop scene is "Together or Not At All: The Song of Amy and Rory" and is one of the Top 10 (5?) best Murray Gold tracks. We heard excerpts in 7x1 and 7x4; this is the full version.

Still makes me cry on re-watch

Boy I envy you, Emme. We knew that Amy and Rory were going to be leaving this season months in advance, but we didn't know when or how. The BBC would always ruin the fun of a new companion or old ones leaving, or a new Doctor coming in, with announcements before the new season would even begin. Typically, though, the cast change would happen at the end of the season so we were all caught unawares with this episode. Especially with all the teases and fake-outs earlier in the season. Now...imagine waiting three more months for the Christmas special to see what the Hell was going to happen next.

Just echoing what Lyssa says, absolutely watch that short on Youtube. It's worth it! Also, I loved your reaction of when you kept saying no at the screen lol Like Nope, I do accept this reality and refuse to believe it! Welcome to our world at the time as well lol

I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while. Still as heart-wrenching 50 rewatches later

There are two things that you can watch after episode 5. The first one, P.S always gets a mention. The second often doesn't. From Doctor Who Lockdown, Rory's Story. Although made later during lockdown, it relates as the title indicates, specifically to Rory. With no future spoilers. Both are optional but are nice additions to the Pond / Williams narrative. :)

i do feel grateful for not knowing stuff like that! i think the buildup of knowing a companion switch would make me a lot more emotional
