this is a difficult one, that scene at the end is acted so well from both of them. very excited to see what you make of the next episode, probably my favorite of the season

I know a lot of peope complain about the moon being an egg thing, but its really not that weird for Who's moon. The moon in Who is not the same as in the real world, in Who lore the moon is not the product of a collision between two bodies in the depths of time before life on the planet, in Who lore the moon is really suspicous. It entered our solar system from parts unknown during the time of the dinosaurs and when the Silurians were the dominant race on the planet, as we are told in Classic with the the 3rd Doctor. The Silurians thinking the moon was on a collision course for Earth went into hibernation underground, as you saw in the Silurian two parter with 11, and they also tried to save as much of the life on the planet as they could by creating Arks to send into space, such as the one we saw in Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. But then the moon got even weirder, rather than colliding as it seemed destined to do, it instead parked itself into a perfect stable orbit around the planet. It turning out after all this time to be an egg is not only not that weird considering its previous behaviour, it answers a question about the Moon in Who first raised in the era of the 3rd Doctor 50 years ago. The other thing I have seen folk take issue with is it laying an egg immediately after being born to replace the old moon. But in fact we, nor any of the characters actually witness this happen, Courtney is just the first to spot it once its happened, and she has already compared it several times to a giant chicken, so it makes perfect sense she would think it laid a new egg. But we dont know it did. My own head cannon based on what we see and are told, due to the semi-tranparent nature of the creature, it is interdimensional, and there is a clutch of eggs in a pocket universe like the one we saw in HIde and like the one the Doctor put Gallifrey into in the 50th. Think like how some birds bury their eggs underground to keep them safe, just a space version. One egg goes out into the universe to find a suitable incubation spot round a planet the right distance from an appropriate type sun, like ours, and once it hatches another egg from the clutch replaces it. This also explains why the weight changes durng the process as in the final stages it is interacting with the pocket dimension. Where I think there is a question over this episode is it often perceived subtext on abortion. The writer of this one claims there is no such intent but on the evidence of the episode itself thats hard to believe, especially as he goes out his way to have the three classic stages of womenhood represented and be the ones to make the decision. Courtney is there to represent the maid- hence the 'no hanky-panky' line, we are given that rather awkward and otherwise if no subtext unnecessary conversation about if Clara wants to be a mother and if she does then her children are probably on the planet below, making her the mother archetype, and then we have the older astronaut who is childless and says she expects to die, in the role of crone. Maid, Mother, Crone the three classic stages of womanhood making a decision over if something should be born or not. Its hard to see how there is not a subtext here. I suspect the writer just wanted to deny it was there to avoid trouble as it was controversial, given a majority on Earth vote for killing the moon, the 'abortion' choice but Clara and the episode choose a pro-life position and not to do so in defiance of that. But what a powerhouse couple of performances from our leads in that final scene, and especially Jenna. To hold your own and excel when the actor opposite you is as good as Capaldi is no small feat, and she knocked it out the park. They are so great together as perfomers, elevating each other. Glad you enjoyed this one though, it gets a lot of, in my view, unneccessary hate. But Ive always rather enjoyed it too.

I actually really love the scene at the end with the Doctor and Clara. It is sad but I'm glad they didnt just gloss over that he left her on her own to make a decision that could've killed an entire world. Not okay. I think if he stayed and gave her all the info he had about the situation, Clara maybe wouldnt have reacted like that.

Apparently it wasn't designed to be an abortion metaphor, but most people believe that it is and its quite an obvious one

The scene at the end in the tardis was well done, Jenna acted it really well. It was good to see the weight of travelling with the doctor, the danger, the consequences, the trauma being expressed by a companion

Bug phobic - lol

You want to live here in Australia- some of the spiders are almost that big! Seriously

i think by want you mean want to avoid right :')

yeah i was thinking that too that the writer just wanted to avoid saying it outright about the comparison to abortion, which i guess is valid. one can appreciate the episode whether it was a comparison or not
