This is one of my favourite episodes of the entire Nu Who era, it works as a really great stand alone episode with an original villain. I think it also works well with the previous three episodes. We start out in The Caretaker, Clara still unsure about who this new Doctor his and Danny warning her about men like him pushing you too far. That then happens in Kill the moon which creates a rift between her and The Doctor, next is Mummy on The Orient Express where by the end of the episode and his "sometimes the only decisions you have are bad one but you still have to choose" line she understands him but that understanding is in theory. In this episode with The Doctor being technically out of action she has to fill his shoes, she experiences for herself what the doctor was doing in MOTOE and she now understands him in practice. p.s MI5 is a little bit like the FBI in that they focus on domestic issues but unlike the FBI they don't have law enforcement powers, they are an intelligence/counter surveillance agency

This and the last episode, as well as being the debut of a new writer Jamie Mathieson, are also two very well disguised 'light' episodes. Every series in order to give the leads a break have an episode they are barely in - think Blink from Tennants era as an example. Last episode was the Clara light episode where Jenna was only there for a few scenes and rarely with the Doctor and most of it was in the one room with Masie, and this week it was Capaldi's turn for a break and he shot all his stuff inside the TARDIS in one afternoon. But both episodes do a great job of working as Who stories without feelng like obvious Doctor or Companion light. Making it doubly impressive these were debut episodes for the writer.

Fenton 'the grumpy one' was played by Christopher Fairbank. He was Ulaf in two season one episodes of Andor and was the Broker Guardians of the Galaxy volumes 1 and 3. He was also in the 1989 Batman who I believe was the first ever person to get "I'm Batman" said to him. He was famous in the UK in the 1980's for playing Moxey in a show called Auf Weidersehen Pet.

Peter’s hair continuity drives me nuts
