here is my timed reaction to doctor who season 8 episode 9 "flatline"

i LOVED this episode, it was so creepy and cool, and it was fun to see clara as "the doctor"

This is not the first time we’ve seen this happen. A companion idolizes the doctor and learns to emulate him but then the doctor feels uncomfortable by having his own traits reflected back at him. I love this episode because not only are the aliens a cool premise/mystery, it’s really fun getting to see the companion be the doctor (and even get her own companion!). It’s just a really fresh story.

Often goes under the radar but this is a really good episode, great idea that looks good too, with an enemy like 'The Boneless' it could have looked awful depending on the graphics but it comes out very well I think. Great character swap with the Clara being the Doctor but almost getting a reality check at the end with that really good line about goodness having nothing to do with it. Also the Doctor's speech at the end when the Tardis came back to size was pretty badass too. A very fun episode.

I like to think when the TARDIS got its mojo back and landed so hard it blasted the Boneless back, that was mostly its own doing, not the Doctor. Just get the vibe it took being shrunk down personally and wanted a bit of revenge

Also I just noticed that Peter Capaldi seemingly has a haircut halfway through the episode but it's grown back by the time he gets out of the Tardis at the end. Perils of filming out of order I guess!
