"Immortality isn't living forever. That's not what it feels like. Immortality is everyone else dying. She might meet someone she can't bear to lose. That happens.. I believe." - So sad to hear the this is the doctors' experience living this long :( but totally makes sense especially considering all his past companions. Seeing 10 and Donna again after 5 whole seasons was a punch in the gut. Nice to hear you've been enjoying this season. It's one of my fav seasons of doctor who. Love your reactions Emme keep up the great work!

Ahhhh, what a fun way to realize The Doctors biggest enemy is himself.

Emme, the connection is not david tennant but the guy that he and donna saved in pompeii. It’s the same actor than 12 lol

The realisation was what Donna said from the Pompei episode - Just save someone, anyone - And the person they saved was the character played by Peter Capaldi (and family) so he chose that face to remind him of that sentiment. They were both Scottish so that could have been a small % of it lol But it's more the saving people thing. I think it's an amazing way to use the fact he appeared in that episode and then became the Doctor and a cool way to tie those two points together. It's a great episode cause the stuff with the fight scene is a bit kooky but that's great because it's a good buffer for what the episode is really about - Mortality etc. There's so much good stuff about The Doctor and Clara's relationship as well, and then the pay off for Capaldi being in the Pompeii episode, love it.

Actually on form my last comment to be fair to you now I think about it I think you were so traumatised from seeing David Tennant and Catherine Tate pop up out of nowhere you were too shook to take in what was going on, which is fair lol

As stated before in the comments, the 12th was remembering that the actor Peter Capaldi played a one-off character in the Pompeii episode where the 10th doctor took away the lesson that a little good is better than no victory at all (Save just one person)
