Doctor Who loves a haunted house episode (and so do I!). I also love Bill being all, "get out of here, it's sus for a professor to be hanging around with me" and the doctor just sticking around under the pretense of hanging out while really being worried about Bill. It's just so grounded and real. I'm not sure we've ever had a situation like this. But it's also hilarious that the roommates are all excited the mysterious popular professor is swinging by to help Bill move and party. The mystery is good and the horror element really works for me but it's the relationship/interpersonal dynamics that make this a great episode imo.

In the first episode you see the Doctor having a photo of River and his granddaughter (the black and white photo) on his desk, this episode is a good way of showing what the dynamic is between these two, she literally calls him grandfather, so although it was funny Peter being like I don't look old enough lol It's basically showing that the Doctor is going back to being OG Doctor Who, an older (looking) man and his granddaughter. Also, more attempts at English accents please, the people demand it :p lol

Fun fact, most houses in England are made out of stone, so having a lot creaking wooden walls and floors is very uncommon thus very alien to the English ear, so it added to the eerie nature of the episode! The Blu-ray also comes with a special Spatial Audio version of the episode to really emphasize all the creaks and the squeaks!
