the Queen of the Skithra is played by Anjli Mohindra, who was previously in the Sarah Jane Adventures and is now married to Sacha Dhawan. Those teeth are pretty awful! The historical episodes with Jodie have such a classic Who feel to them -- and they certainly make me look up and learn about history and figures that I didn't know much (or anything!) about. Love that the fam is in period dress for this one! I also love Graham calling the squabbling Tesla & Edison AC/DC. The opening scene with Niagara Falls in the background takes place in Canada -- which must be one of the only times anything in Doctor Who takes place in Canada, I think. We're looking across the Niagara River to the U.S. falls. The perhaps more iconic horseshoe Canadian falls we'd see if the camera looked to the right (and if this was actually a location shoot).

So the guy with the red eyes and bowler hat has been in 69 episodes of Doctor Who/Torchwood/Sarah Jane Adventures playing different alien characters such as Ood & Judoon & Cybermen

You had the same thought I had when the queen first entered as well! The runaway bride episode you were thinking of I believe, the queen there was very OTT and more funny than evil but it feels like they took that episode but worked out the kinks and made the queen more badass this time around, all her scenes especially with the music were really cool! Yeah by many accounts Edison wasn't a good guy, stole ideas but may be a good example of the phrase history is written by the 'winners', everyone knows Edison but if it's not for Elon does anyone even know the Tesla name? Feel like if this was made now you could have had a hilarious scene where they take Tesla to today and he sees how they've ruined his name and he's like 'Oh you know what I'm joining that alien queen forget this!' But yeah really good episode this one!
