cmon eme, how could you forget that you wrote the script 🤣🤣 very fun, felt like there was a balance of the goofy and serious stuff within the movie.. honestly felt like im back in school when they would put a movie on for the class. also you should care about the bugs if you were worried about the rats 😭

A funny bit that only comes to light in later years...you only just realize when at the end Elsa simply could not...'let it go'. sorry had to be done. However, on another lfe I was a cartographer, and while working on a map I researched a deed and came across one with a grantor named Henry Jones Sr. and the Grantee named Indiana! Kid you not, but Indy in this case was female. Life has a way of being ironic.

so funny that you pointed out Sean Connery using his pen and umbrella like a spy!

Thanks for this reaction Eme, this is also my favourite Indiana Jones movie from the OG trilogy. (I try to forget the one being released later). Fun fact: George Lucas initially wanted to cast Sean Connery as Indiana Jones for the first movie. But it was decided he was a bit too old for this role. So they went with ‘Han Solo’ instead. Nice to see him in this movie as his father! Now at 41:19 the guy at the ‘periscope’ in the tank said (translated from German) ‘The Americans fight like girls!’. I did watch this movie in the theatre when it was just released in 1989 (revealing my age here…), so I don’t think you are the one who wrote this movie. I am pretty sure you were not born yet Eme, or you really look a lot younger than you really are ;-)

I've not watched the movie for a while, forgot about how annoyed the old guardsman should have been at the end lol Like 700 years and you just all came in here and teared it all down! Sean Connery as the dad was perfect! Also the body count in these is quite something lol Sooo many! And speaking of quests for the holy grail have you seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail? If not, absolutely put that on your list!

Last Crusade was definitely my favorite movie when I was younger. I watched them out of order, going backwards. Temple scared me. Raiders was not as funny. But as I aged and revisited the films over the years, Raiders became, and still is my favorite, in that I really appreciate it top to bottom as a pure adventure film and the template for all the sequels. Incredibly tight storytelling and the love for the genre is palpable. Last Crusade is great! Tonally it did shift gears to be more light and fun, and in that, some of the characters that return are painted with a broader brush to suit that tone and are bit less dynamic than they were in Raiders. Namely, Brody in Last Crusade is 100% comic relief. And that's totally fine. Perfect for the film. It's more just a self-awareness thing. By Last Crusade, the filmmakers knew what an Indiana Jones film looks like. When they made Raiders, they didn't, and I really appreciate the craftsmanship in that way. Definitely must give it to Last Crusade for having absolutely excellent action sequences. The whole prologue with River Phoenix is great (him cutting his chin with the whip is a nod to Ford's actual scar he has on his chin), and the tank scene is pretty darn iconic.

Hi eme! I am so honored to meet the ghostwriter of my favorite Indiana Jones as a kid (old man fading into literal dust-fine; faces melting, not quite... as fine 😂) Anyway yesterday was a really hard day but when I looked at youtube I remembered I might still have Patreon access, et voila! This plus some spider man reacts literally got me through yesterday to today, which just so happens to be 3 years sober from alcohol and 6 months on HRT! I found you when I was still teaching and drinking (strangely correlated, those, esp. 2020-2021 or so...) I've always loved catching streams but the edited reacts have been such a solace on dark days. Thank you and I'm glad you're still making it happen (and also looking fly af with cute animals who distract me from what is going on all the time 🤩)

I love Brody! Having worked in museums and around academics, I uh... Know the type 😂 Also later in youth I watched and loved Trading Places in which Denholm Elliott's impeccable personal valet character *aggressively* offers Eddie Murphy, Jamie Lee-Curtis and Dan Aykroyd egg nog in such a way that I can almost only hear the words in his enthusiastically vengeful voice 🤣
