I love this episode! It's so much fun. The decreasing time loop is a great way to raise the tension. And there are so many funny moments and jokes. I'll admit that one of my favorite moments in this one is when the Dalek says, "I am not Nick," and the actor who voices the Daleks is Nick -- Nicholas Briggs. I also love the music in this one. Especially the solo acoustic bass and guitar bits. Such a great sound. Doctor-Companion romance is always kind of dicey territory. I really like Nine and Rose together but because they're not "a couple". Ten and Rose's relationship often felt very immature, I guess, to me. They feel like middle or high schoolers crushing on each other. Yaz and the Doctor, in a relationship where both of them are hiding their feelings, even from themselves, because of fears or insecurities -- It feels real and, ironically, like a very honest attraction. I think it feels like that to me because they are trying to resist it, and yet you can tell they really care for each other. Especially in a moment like that big hug in the Williamson tunnels when the Doctor and Yaz are reunited. And who was sleeping in that bed they fell into together in the first episode of Flux! I really like them together, and I enjoy Dan playing Cupid.

The hints of Yaz have been there for a little bit, not sure the earliest ones but there is a moment or two in the Shelley/haunted house episode, so it's been a thing since at least since then, they're small stuff but it has been in the background for a little bit so not out of nowhere but this is I think the first time it's properly discussed. The UK does have taxi's like that lol The guy at the end is the man who operated the crane in the first episode of this era, the one who listened to those self esteem tapes. And as someone who lives in Manchester...everything said by Dan and Yaz is slander! Don't listen to the Scouse and Yorkshire, it's all lies.

That's Karl, the crane operator from "The Woman Who Fell to Earth," appreciating the fireworks.

I've enjoyed rewatching these with you because Yaz jumps at every chance to be with the Doctor very early on.

Aisling Bea (Sarah) is an Irish stand-up comedienne (and actress/screenwriter) who is also known for her appearances on British comedy/social commentary panel/game shows like QI and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (among others). John Bishop (Dan) also does stand-up and is on the panel shows. Both are extremely quick witted and hilarious.
