hi everyone!!

hope you all are having a good week.

making this post today because i've been mulling over an idea for at least buffy reactions and perhaps other things we do in the future.

currently as you know i upload one buffy reaction a week, both full length and edited at the same time. that edited video gets posted on patreon a month later.

i have been considering keeping with the weekly or even twice weekly uploads for buffy EXCEPT patreon would only get these each week, and they would be unedited, full length. then at the end of the month i'd upload an edited long cut version of 5-6 episodes in one video to youtube.

the reason why i was thinking this way was to really just become a bit more intentional with my posts on youtube and aiming towards quality over quantity. especially since i edit myself it feels like a way to grow!

however i know a lot of you just watch for the early edited access so i just wanted to gauge your thoughts since obviously i appreciate your support so much and don't want to make it feel like i'm pulling the rug from under you! however the positive side of this for you all would be that there would be 5-6 episodes a month (since there are 22 episodes per season and i'm planning on splitting them in 4 videos) instead of just 4.

let me know your thoughts!

I'm here for pretty much the full reactions only, so no real preference for me, E, I'll say just do whatever works best for you.

I've seen a couple of reactors do a similar format for YouTube, posting multiple episodes in one video. If you feel that is what works for you, that's probably the way to go.

JaxDanger97

Also here for the full reactions and would love to see more than one per week. Keep up the great work!

David

At one episode a week, it would take you almost 4.5 more years to finish the Buffy universe (assuming you also do the spinoff). If you can react at a faster pace this way, it's probably a good idea.

Toji

honestly would love for more episodes of buffy weekly, also just feels like whatever you work on for future references would work best on the quality side! always appreciate what work you do eme! 🤠

KLM

Doing 3 episodes per YouTube video makes sense. Any more and you either have to edit out too much or its too long of a video. Id say keep it to 3 episodes per video.

Rey

I tend to watch the full reactions more, but will encourage anything that makes thinfs feels easier for you

When I subscribe to anyone on Patreon, the reason is 100% to get the full unedited reactions. Not interested in edited reactions at all. So if you think fewer but longer youtube videos are a way to grow, go ahead, doesn't change anything at all for me as long as we still get the unedited ones.

slypeartree

I'm here for full reactions and would love two reactions a week.

Alexander Ocean

Only here for full reactions tbh , so whatever is easier

Barry

I join for the full reactions to watch along with. More per week would be great but however is best for you would be best.

Dodgermutt

I am here for the full reactions, otherwise I would just watch on youtube.

Jess

I am not on patreon, but I joined YouTube early access for Buffy. I would prefer weekly upload (s) of the edited episodes. I would be disappointed if you switched to monthly uploads.

Stephanie Reacts

I'm on the YouTube side for early access, I watch your buffy and Dr who reactions

Joe

I watch the edited reactions. But I would not mind watching them in one collected video. However if it is at same time as YouTube then there is not as much value for Patreon. Maybe post the edited versions a week early or something? Also have you given thought to Angel? It was made alongside Buffy and aired together. Would you watch both? Like Buffy, it does not start at its best but gets good as it goes. Only raising as you are considering your Buffy plans.

Tony Hofmann

2 full reactions per week... yes please.

Regarding this question, whatever works best for you Eme! I think this group is mixed which of the two we prefer. For me, the only times I watch full reaction is either for movies I haven't seen yet or movies I haven't watched in a long time. For both, I really like the option to watch them together with you / your reactions. For series like Buffy, that I have already seen when it was first released, I only watch the edited reaction on either Patreon or Youtube.

Paflad

I joined Patreon for the full length Buffy's so it's a moot point for me but before that I was a paid member on YT for the early access to Doctor Who and I know how much I would have been a bit peeved if they suddenly became less frequent, even if they *were* longer and better put together. I'm sure I would have gotten used to it, but it would have been an adjustment lol So maybe a post/poll over there for the paid members would be a good idea, too? Since they're the ones most likely to be affected? In the end, it's whatever works best for you though, obviously. You're the one doing all the work and nobody wants to see you suffer burnout or dissilusionment

Just chiming in as a YT early access member for Buffy (I'm not on Patreon). Sadly, I just don't have the time to watch the full-length reactions, so I really love the current format of getting one edited reaction a week. I think your edited versions are already great, and I'm honestly not sure how bundling them all into one massive video would drastically improve the editing possibilities. Also, waiting a whole month for a 6-episode drop wouldn't really work for me, as I wouldn't have the time to binge it all at once anyway. It's just not my preferred way to watch. To be completely honest, since this change would actually mean waiting longer for the edited episodes, it kind of defeats the purpose of early access for me, and I probably wouldn't continue my YT membership. (It would be amazing if you managed to release two edited episodes a week instead, though!) All that being said, I really enjoy your reactions and think you are a wonderful person. Ultimately, you should do whatever feels right and works best for you!

i have also shared this post to the youtube members so that they can share their opinions here and there as well :D definitely a good point about them being involved

Daniel Lowther

I really only watch the early edited reactions, as I don’t have access to my Buffy collection: but whatever works best for you is fine. I’m easy going haha. 🙂

Tall Paul

I subscribe to a few channels for full length reactions. If the channel posts with a delay I usually subscribe occasionally and binge a season, if they post my favourite shows as they watch them I tend to stay subscribed.

thanks for your input i really appreciate your thoughts and they definitely make a lot of sense! i shouldve been more clear on what i meant from "editing possibilities." my weeks fluctuate based on what im watching that week obviously so for example weeks that i react to and edit movies i feel way more of a time crunch than the weeks i don't. and i feel like i rush through or even just feel a bit more stressed for everything else during these weeks. the difference in putting more episodes in one video would allow me to flex my editing schedule a bit more to fit around this. and also i think youtube favors longer videos in the algorithm, at least in my experience. definitely not trying to persuade you to think otherwise or anything, but thought id clarify myself for you and anyone else reading this if its helpful!

emmereacts

to clarify it'll be a flex of 1-2 for a total of 5-6 episodes a month but yes that would defintely be happening!

emmereacts

thats a really good point!! a week early access is a great idea. i'll likely do that! and yes i do want to watch angel! honestly if i were to do buffy videos like that i think it would make it easier for me to watch angel alongside so i don't have to commit to so many days a week to 2 shows from the same universe

emmereacts

totally understand thanks for your input!

emmereacts

exactly! all about trying to find that balance

emmereacts

that's fair insight! i think for me it won't work as well as i am envisioning though, i think that would actually make my workload more stressful because if i'd like to increase the pace of watching i'd have to do 3 video uploads every two weeks which is just harder than editing throughout the whole month 1 video

emmereacts

LMAO i read this comment last week and it blew my mind. that definitely is a comment with impact
