here is my edited reaction to loki season 1 episode 5 "journey into mystery!"

i also watched the mid-credits scene i missed for last episode! this episode was SOOOO good and really set us up for the finale!

The frog in the jar was Throg a frog version of Thor I believe from the same universe as Alligator Loki

Trivia: the name of the ship that appears in the Void, the USS Eldridge, is a reference to the so-called "Philadelphia Experiment," a top-secret military project which supposedly involved teleporting the ship from Philadelphia, PA, to Norfolk, VA. Though the facts surrounding the case are dubious at best, it's a long-running conspiracy theory, and the show seems to be suggesting that it either teleported its way into the Void, or the TVA pruned the whole ship before the Experiment could complete.

Meet Loki’s variants: Classic (Richard E. Grant), Kid (Jack Veal), Boastful (DeObia Oparei), and Alligator (modeled after an alligator named Wally). Episode 5 had my favorite funny moment in the season: The Loki Smackdown. When Analyst Loki saw his President variant being betrayed by his army, he had that look on his face that said, "God, I'm so immature." He also looked annoyed when his Boastful variant yelled glorious purpose during the fight.

It may have also been a spell cast by Loki. Remember the play in Ragnarok, where Matt Damon (playing Loki) says "Sorry about that time I turned you into a frog."
