hi everyone! i just made a new youtube post asking what to watch next!

you can either head to the post here: https://www.youtube.com/@emme/community or comment or suggestions below!

important notes: - please ONLY TV SHOWS! movies i have to watch are still a longggg list, and i'll make another post whenever the day comes i need more suggestions - i am still on my marvel and star wars track, so those are all in the plans still - i am planning on reacting to the avatar the last airbender live action when that comes out! - bonus: i would really like to continue to expand my horizon outside of superheroes / sci-fi so really any request is fine!

i will take time to go through all the answers, and make another poll of popular ones / ones that fit the criteria of something that interests me and i haven't seen yet on youtube! this series will start at the end of the month on patreon :D  thank you for your feedback in advance!

Agents of SHIELD please! 🙏🏻

Ben

Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica

Brett Heller

If you’re looking for a comedic show, maybe try Community or It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia? If you’re looking for something more dramatic, I’d recommend Succession or Breaking Bad. Barry is a show by Bill Hader that’s dramatic and funny, and the episodes are only 30 minutes long, so that might be more easily digested

emmereacts

agents of SHIELD is still in the plan for some point since it's marvel! but i like to keep some variety in the schedule, so looking for something outside of marvel for now!

emmereacts

last of us i unfortunately binge watched on my own - it was great!!!!!

Jeph

The Punisher season 1.

Travis Starnes

Last of Us, Ted Lasso, Justified, West Wing, Star Trek TOS (so you can later do the movies), Veronica Mars

Ron K

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.

Rex Prime

Rick and Morty 🤓

Matthew Webb

Dexter, The Office, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Sandman.

Pete Straley

Maybe some kind of comedy series like Parks and Rec/ Always Sunny? Or even a British comedy like Peep Show or The Inbetweeners?

Peter Baker

The Haunting of Hill House is an amazing watch if you're down for horror. Otherwise, The Last Airbender, and BoJack Horseman are also both well worth the watch.

Rob Farley

If you have Prime, you can’t go wrong with Reacher

Dan Dedrick

Ted Lasso, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, The Last of Us

7BitBrian

Since you like the marvel movie actors; my suggestion is Wind River. It's got 2 marvel actors that you will see new acting chops from, and it's a great movie with an important message. Another suggestion; it's long but super worth it: Agents of Shield.

Max Martin

Game of thrones if you haven't watched it yet Also Community as a comedic show would be amazing

Kelly Parks

Peacemaker -- Written and directed by James Gunn and based on the character played by John Cena in Gunn's soft reboot movie "The Suicide Squad". It's raunchy, hilarious, and a great superhero action story with smart writing and excellent performances. Severance -- A strange cultish company requires employees to get a brain implant that "severs" their memories. So you at work have no memory of who you are outside work and you outside have no memory of what you do at work, effectively turning you into two separate people.

John W Foster

I'll second Reacher - I like it so much I've started reading the books

5Myllyon

Throwing out ‘JJK’ and ‘LOTR: Ring of Power’

jordan

barry, better call saul if you haven’t watched (i think you said you’ve watched breaking bad already), or community

Roderick Fenn

Second vote for Haunting of Hill House

Matthew Webb

Haunting of Hill House, The Owl House, Westworld, and Chernobyl also spring to mind

A couple with almost no reactions in YouTube- Altered Carbon season 1 is a great sci-fi show, very interesting and unique setting and story. A bit of a scifi/cyberpunk neo-noir detective story that has some similar themes and aesthetics to Blade Runner though totally unrelated. Very interesting characters, well written and acted. Sense8- By the Waichowskis, 2 seasons total, one of the most unique shows I’ve seen, and fantastic but criminally under known. Less obviously scifi, but it definitely is. Strong themes of how people treat each other/fear of anyone/anything different, value of empathy. Disclaimer for this one though, it might be harder to react to in some ways since there are sexual scenes and some nudity though it’s purposeful in a very different way from something like typical HBO/Game of Thrones.

Scott S

The Expanse :)

Clay

Severance is really gooob

Joe

The Good Place. And if you are willing to stay in superhero zone, Invincible.

Rileymetal

Please react to Black Sails.

RocktSurgeon

The Expanse is one of the best, in some ways maybe the best, space sci-fi shows that’s been made. It takes science seriously, characters/relationships/politics are all complex and believable and a great story. Some excellent acting and writing throughout, looks great, and the story and mysteries throughout are always interesting. Bonus, it tends to bring a very loyal (and friendly/enthusistic) community with it. Every time I’ve seen a channel start reacting to it they get a noticeable number of people that will jump at any excuse to rewatch and to see a new person get drawn into the world they love, including pulling quite a few people to Patreon for the duration. I’ll admit I’ve joined several patreon just for the Expanse!

Darren P

Stranger things?

Definitely want to see you react to ted lasso, it’s such a funny and wholesome show and I think it really fits your vibes. The sandman is also a great recommendation, it’s based on one of the best comic book series of all times and it’s currently only a season long so it can be checked off rather quickly. I also always recommend Buffy the vampire slayer when these sorts of requests come out. The elevator pitch of the show is a blonde girl walking through a dark alley, but it’s the monsters who are afraid of her. It’s my favourite show of all time, and also my favourite depiction of a feminine hero in pop culture. Lastly for something really out of left field I’ll recommend the wire. The wire can at first glance look like a cop show, but it’s really a show about society and its failings. Buffy may be my favourite show but the wire is in my opinion the best show ever made.

Daniel Allred

Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch!

I will throw up my suggestions as well. Reacher - Very well done show, quick 8 episodes, has great wit and doesn't commit you to season 2, which would also be done by the time you are done reacting to season 1. It got a lot of reactions above as well. (Very Short) The Expanse - Sticks you with SCIFI and you wouldn't be done for 31/62 weeks depending on 1 or 2 a week schedual, but like others have pointed out above, this will generally see you a viewer count bump, (it has for almost every other reactor), and is probably the most critically acclaimed , well written SCIFI show ever done. (Very Long) Battlestar Galactica - I personally would prefer this to The Expanse, however, it won't quite give you the ratings bump of The Expanse, and would commit you to a year + 2 movies, at least one of which is essential. I think the acting in this is better than the expanse and I prefer the plot and mythos, as long as you can interplay theology with SCIFI as workable. (Very Long) Band of Brothers. - A classic reactor series set in WW2, you cannot go wrong. An incredible piece that will get you a viewer bump and the set play and emotion is incredible, could lead you to watching Saving Private Ryan as well. (Very Short) BBC Sherlock - If you are looking for something entirely different, the acting and plot of these shows are incredible. Each Season is only 3 episodes long, each episode is roughly 90 minutes and the plot twists are to die for.. literally. (Short, Essentially 13 mini movies). They are broken down into 3 episode seasons, so if the first season isn't for you, you can ditch no problem without much investment.

Calbert

Stranger things, invincible (Amazon prime), the walking dead, game of thrones, Umbrella Academy. Sorry idk what shows you’ve seen so apologies if you have seen some of my suggestions.

Mojo311

If you want to get out of the superhero and sci-fi area I would suggest maybe vivant or Blue eyed Samurai. Vivant is a live action show that isn't very known right now on Netflix. It is about a guy who lost his company a lot of money and when he tries to get it back gets him self involved with things way over his head with a terrorist organization. Its a lot of fun and I hope to see more people enjoy it as well. Blue eyed Samurai is a Netflix animated show about a half Japanese, half white Samurai who is on a quest for revenge. It has beutiful animation and a powerful story.

sixz

The Last of Us, Cyberpunk Edgerunners

Haley

Would love to watch you react to Percy Jackson and the Olympians! Episodes are still coming out so your not too behind!

Mannygogou

Haunting of Hill House, THE OA, American Dad, Rick & Morty

Ronix

that's pretty good

Andy

A couple shows that I have really enjoyed, and are not superhero, sci-fi based are: Castle, with Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic(8 seasons though, so bit long.) Life, with Damien Lewis and Sarah Shahi(2 seasons) Sci-fi/drama show that has been mentioned that I really enjoy is Orphan Black. Tatiana Maslany(she hulk) is freaking amazing(5 seasons) Edit: might also like “Dead like me”

Saul

I'll echo anyone who suggest Sherlock, specially if you have not seen Benedict Cumberbatch in anything outside Marvel. 4 seasons, 3 episodes each. 1 hour 40 min per episode. Good stuff, with some misfire episodes towards the end but still great. I'll also recommend Luther with Idris Elba for a similar reason, if all you know is MCU or Pacific Rim then this series would be the same as far as short episode seasons. Sherlock has more humor than Luther but both deal with chaotic detective that can be an interesting comparison to see you react.

StrayConfusion

You might want to take a look at *Pushing Daisies (2007)*. It's got a quirky, fairy-tale vibe with a mix of mystery and romance, similar in style with Tim Burton. (EDIT: Oh and this is starring Lee Pace AKA Ronan The Accuser) I'd also recommend any of Mike Flanagan's short series. *The Haunting of Hill House (2018)* and *Midnight Mass (2021)* are highlights. He takes inspiration from classic horror and pushes the genre to explore thought-provoking and emotional themes.

Narutoanime16

90’s Batman the Animated series & the other shows it’s connected to, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited , Batman Beyond, static shock & Superman animated series

emmereacts

would i need to watch the movie first??

brae

definitely Breaking Bad

beetalogist

Recommending a few of my favorite anime: Cyberpunk Edgerunners Code Geass Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Ragnar Miersch

Isn't it about time you started The Boys spinoff, Gen V? If not that I would love to watch you react to Band of Brothers. There is a reason it is so popular with other reactors. Your above average intellect should find it quite intriguing.

Blackavar

*Ted Lasso is a great pick, I think you’d like it a lot. Personally, I’d have to say *Community. Probably my favorite show and I’d love see your reaction to it.

emmereacts

Stranger things was one of the first things i reacted to! :D

emmereacts

For the time being i’m tabling The Boys and Gen V. The political arguments in comments on youtube for season 3 of the boys was really too much for me. I might return to it one day or watch it on my own because it’s a real shame since i really loved it

Joe

Veronica mars

John W Foster

Man I really love Veronica Mars, I need to rewatch that

John W Foster

No, Its basically a reboot (both are based on a Young Adult book series - similar to Harry Potter)

John W Foster

Man I freaking love Life! Such a great show, sadly very underrated

Rudy P

Hola and Happy New Year! 1. Ted Lasso. Apple. 3 seasons. 30 min-ish episodes. Mustachioed superhuman. Smart comedy. Dash of drama. Relatable life lessons. Feel good. 2. Barry. (HBO)Max. 3 seasons. Fast 30 min episodes. Dark crime dramady. Bill Hader, great acting and directing. Tons of twists. 3. Severance. Apple. 1 season to date. 45 min episodes. Dark. Drama. Mystery feel. Novel concept. 4. Better Call Saul. Netflix? 6 seasons. It’s all good man. I may like it more than Breaking Bad. Cheers!

GomezAddams

Sherlock. There's only 3 episodes per season, they are longer than tv episodes but shorter than movies, and it's an absolutely brilliant series with incredible acting and loveable characters and top notch writing that make a marvelous mix. Anyways thanks for your reactions you have some good insights.

jesgear

I've never seen anyone react to Freaks and Geeks.

Johnny Galindo

National Treasure the series on Disney Plus!

DOUGLAS M. WHITE II

You seemed to enjoy the story of Frank Castle in DareDevil, so the Punisher series on Netflix would probably be cool...It is very violent though.

Vedsång

My own input, but just a few recomendations: Fantasy series: Game of Thrones and the spin off series House of the Dragon. I also loved the game adaptation of The Last of Us on HBO. Although also a Marvel storie but not well known, I love the Agent Carter series (short 2 seasons).

Matthew

If you are looking for a comedy then I think "The Good Place" would be a great start. If you are looking for a drama then I really think you would enjoy "The Americans"

David L Pickard

There is a show called Timeless that my girlfriend just had me watch, which also stars Matt Lantern (Anakin in Clone Wars) that was actually really enjoyable. I know it is MCU, but I also highly recommend Agents of SHIELD. In my opinion, the best Marvel TV show.

Vedsång

I really hope that Agents of SHIELD is already on Emme’s radar for possible future Marvel reactions 😀

Vonium

Cyberpunk Edgerunners is really good

Chelsea.fc

Star Wars Resistance.

Ragnar Miersch

I wasn't aware of the controversy in the comments. I was raised never to discuss sex, religion or politics in public so I don't pay much attention to those issues. With that said, I am aware the dynamics have changed since the advent of instant communication, just not for me. I am sorry that it caused you discomfort, however.

Danny

not sure if you like cop dramas but one of the best shows of all time in my opinion is JUSTIFIED. really great characters and actors - especially the villains - and i found it very fun to watch.

Matt Cheol

wow throwback. I'd watch those reactions.

Reverie Requiem

Dollhouse doesn't always get a lot of love but it is pretty good (and short compared to Whedon's other shows like Buffy, Angel, Agents of Shield). For non sci-fi Veronica Mars and Leverage.

BeansOnToast

The Queen's Gambit is really excellent, outside of the sci-fi/superheroes genre, and is a limited series of 7 episodes which tells a complete story without dragging it out. It is the story of a woman who is a chess genius and tracks her rise in the world of chess while also struggling with addiction issues. It has some heavy themes but it is largely family friendly: mild sex, no violence, moderate profanity, moderate drug references.

Stephen Vasquez

Agreed on both if you’re looking for something different

GomezAddams

If you haven't seen it, the BBC version of Sherlock is excellent watching. Fascinating plots, excellent film work, and two of the most loveable characters you'll ever enjoy, plus a stellar supporting cast. There's only like 3 episodes per season and one bonus episode. They're a little longer than a regular show, but shorter than movies. Whatever you decide to watch, thanks for sharing and have a wonderful new year. 🥂

GomezAddams

Oh yes, great show. 👍

Neil McRae

I wholeheartedly recommend Ted Lasso. It's a show that just makes you feel good.
