Tomorrow's episode is cosmetology (skin care, beard care, therapy via make-up artists). But following that is cosmology (stars, planetary business, existence.)

I recorded cosmetology before the launch so I didn't post for questions here first but hit the comments with your COSMOLOGY queries for the amazing Katie Mack.

Is there a name for the disorientation and panic one feels when considering the vastness of the universe? Or even the distance of one AU? Also, do you know of a way to get past it?

Paula Herrera

How scared should we be of a giant astroid destroying Earth? Are any of the sci-fi movie methods to save the planet plausible, or are we basically doomed should an asteroid come our way?

In fiction we’ve seen gas giants turn into stars; in the film “2010” for instance, Jupiter takes some extremely rad alien supplements and, boom goes the dynamite, we have a junior star to light the night sky. Jupiter needed help in the story, but…are gas giants of sufficient size and composition considered a waypoint or “evolutionary” stage in the creation of stars?

What are the top three lip stains in your opinion? Also have they tried Fenty beauty and if so what’s their favorite product? If I can do only ONE thing for my face everyday what is that thing? How did you get into cosmetology? I love makeup and making up others and have done my fair share of hairstyling. Is formal schooling required in cosmetology? Thanks!

As for the Cosmos - what do you think of Neil Degrasse Tyson? Do you have a favorite galaxy or star? What’s your favorite picture of the cosmos? I love the Horsehead nebula myself. How likely to you think we’ll find another habitable planet in our lifetime? Thanks for being on the podcast!

John Worster

Do you think that we will ever find the edge of the universe, or do you think that it goes on forever?

OkayKellyRuss

Will the universe expand forever or will it eventually collapse in on itself?

Yuzufruit

sort of already covered, but do you ever just get painfully existential or scared about the infinity-ness of the universe? or is it all just no big deal to someone who has to engage with Space Stuff on a daily basis?

Slightly on a more local / practical level... I love stargazing but even in a small city it is hard to do b/c of light pollution. Can you recommend any tactics, resources, orgs, for helping reduce light pollution. (I'm also a big believer that it's bad for us, animals, plants to have too much artificial light, etc.)

Just watched a show on Planet 9. Your thoughts and what type of planet do you think it'll turn out to be (earth-like, icy, gas giant)?

Alex Introini

Does it ever scare you to look up at the sky and think that we're just a simple little blue blip in a solar system among thousands of stars in thousands of galaxies? Does the vastness of space ever make you question life and it's value?

Zack Stadel

What’s Dr. Mack’s take on the theories of variable speed of light, and dark flow?

Alie Ward

Editing cosmology now and it's a BEEFY one folks!
