First time question asker - I’m a medical cannabis patient in the UK for managing symptoms of AuDHD and PMDD. I’m interested to know if there’s any research which shows how cannabis impacts neurodiverse brains and if this is different to neurotypical brains. Thank you!

etherdog

I am so glad you noted this was about cannabis instead of cannibals! Love you and your work!

Alie Ward

It's published and ready to listen to! But welcome and we do touch on that in this episode!

Mads

That's definitely where my mind went when I first saw it!

I work around Bwindi impenetrable Forest, Uganda. The Bawta tribe (local indigenous peoples) who live around the park smoke some delicious weed. It’s mild but gets you a high that makes you so present, calm and honestly super horny 😂. There’s not much actual bud, more leaves and the seeds. Don’t really have a question just wanted to share 😂

Brie

Missed opportunity to publish on 4/20 but very excited to listen!

Sophia Bustillos

Does marijuana mess with brain development before the age of 25?

CurtisDawg

I'm always on a high after listening to Ologies!

Today’s my birthday and getting to listen to this years-in-the-making episode on my commute in today was the best birthday present ever. Excited to keep listening on my commute home!!

Alie Ward

The timing was not accidental! Since its a 2-parter it gives people time to listen and share on 4/20. We’re on it

Alie Ward

Episode is up and ready to hear!

Marieka

Kinda bummed this isn’t about cannibals.

I loved the sociocultural + physiological/psychosocial split of the experts here and also can’t wait to learn more about weed anxiety. Is it a chicken and egg like if you’re generally anxious weed makes you more anxious because you’re anxious about your anxiety??

Elinor Wahl

You can definitely enter an anxiety spiral if you're primed to think about it - the way priming creates a bias in thinking is well-documented in psychology

What's the Patreon membership level required to share a back porch doobie with Alie?!? What a terrific episode! Can't wait for part II! Also, please do an episode on veterinary gerontology with my lovely wife, Dr Ashley Portmann of Home Together Vet! This month's senior spotlight is Oliver!! https://www.instagram.com/p/DWzoIBulT1h/?igsh=YTZqbmllNXhxb2Ji

FYI weed stores in Oregon absolutely take cash! (Alie said that most weed stores don’t take cash!)

Sarah with an h

Throw in Sarah Marshall and Chelsea Weber-Smith and you've got my ideal blunt rotation.

Sarah with an h

In MN you can only use cash or debit in some places.

Larissa

Haha! I was just so excited to see a cannabis episode. It was a great listen, can’t wait for part 2! Particularly found the information regarding strengths compared to the 90s and now.

Emma Weber

Does THC use have any affect on fertility? I’ve also had a friend who claims her dr told her it would be fine to smoke a little weed for the morning sickness - thoughts?

frondsbecomelavers

I wonder if they study vaporizing flower (not concentrates/cartridges) vs. combustion.

DeeDeeNoodle

I'd be interested in an episode on cannibalism though haha

DeeDeeNoodle

DadWard has always got us. 🖤

DeeDeeNoodle

Thanks for a great couple of episodes! Learned so much as always

Mickey

This episode made me decide to finally quit smoking 😳 or at least cut back from daily use

Ted Vician

This episode once again reminded me how unbelievable it is that vaping anything - including nicotine - is allowed. Tobacco is highly regulated, as is alcohol, and cannabis seems to be heading that way, but someone can fill a plastic package with heavy metals, solvents, and who knows what else and sell it to 13-year-olds.

Alli B

I loved learning this. Turned it on its head!

First-time question asker: What specific actions or patterns from the current US administration, happening right now, could trigger rapid institutional breakdown within the next year—and what evidence suggests we’re already approaching that threshold?

Mads

Really enjoyed this episode. I listened with my husband who is a medical librarian. He pointed out that researchgate is problematic as about 80% of content violates copyright, which is a problem because then researchers don't get properly paid for their work. I thought you'd like to know, and he suggested if there is a paper you want to get hold of you could ask your local library to source it for you 🙂

Erin Bagley

I definitely learned a lot from this episode. One question I have is about smoking/consuming cannabis and driving. How does it affect reaction time and driving skills? I notice the smell coming from cars All. The. Time. I don't have a problem with weed, I just don't want to be on the road with anyone who is impaired with any substance.
