Do you have questions about snails? Of course you do. I'm about to interview a snail curator so hit me with your questions about very very very weird sex,shells, eye antennae, gardening, whatever. We're here for you.

Also, do you have a favorite snail?  I feel like some of y'all MUST.

I feel you missed a trick by not signing off with "Your partner in slime" there. I can't think of a good question, but I have heard that snail lube is so effective that they could walk (shimmy?) along a razor blade, unscathed. Would be cool to know how accurate that is. EDIT: Ok, I do have a question - What's the word for how a snail moves? A very cursory Google search was inconclusive

But then other things I've read say that basically snails secrete when they are uncomfortable and anxious, so cosmetic companies are essentially creating uncomfortable situations for snails to make them secrete more "effectiantly"

How long can they survive in a shell without water? I'm asking because I accidentally brought one home back when I used to collect shells on vacations. (Sorry! I don't do that anymore)! Anyhoo, it freaked me out because one day it was in a different place on the bathroom counter. I thought my husband was messing with me. The next day, it was somewhere else. Then we realized it was ALIVE! We named her Shelly--I know--so original--and we kept her alive for quite a while. We had a proper funeral upon her passing and interred her into a heart-shaped, marble ring box atop a cotton ball. RIP, Shelly.

Years ago, we had a small 10 gallon fish aquarium at home and snails would just randomly appear and grow from tiny baby snails and then just suddenly disappear. This seemed to happen in cycles and we could never figure out where they even came from to start with. What was happening and are snails magic? Also, why do all the snails climb upwards on the sides of my house when it starts raining, only to die a sad death when the sun comes back out and dries them all out?
