Did NOT know what a cone snail was before this and now I fear and respect them.

Will they kill me dead and leave me as a marine snack, or will their bogglingly complex venoms save my life? WHO'S TO SAY? Well, Conotoxinologists, that's who. Two of the world's best, Dr. Sabah Ul-Hasan and Dr. Joshua Torres work together on the chemistry and the symbiont microbes in cone snail venom ducts and they have passion and stories to spare.

This episode makes me think of MANTIS SHRIMP. They punch their pray, supposedly so hard (I’m paraphrasing a vet I met) that they boil the water!! Should be equivalent to a car crash x10. Would be super interesting to hear an episode on these guys!

I thought it was so cool looking that when I got back to my room I googled it and ... oh fuuuuuu... I learned a lesson that day. Do not randomly handle things in the ocean if you do not already know what they are.
