Hey everyone, here's the first episode of the podcast! It's a bit rough around the edges, but I hope you'll all enjoy giving it a listen and learning a bit more about the development of Baldi's Basics. I'd appreciate any feedback y'all might have regarding the production! I intend to keep things simple but I'm sure there's room for improvement.

This episode mainly focuses on Baldi's Basics Plus 0.7 and the field trips that were introduced in that version.

Note that the podcast itself is public, but questions are reserved for Patreon members and Kickstarter backers. I'll make a post dedicated to asking questions for the next episode about a week after the public release of version 0.8. If you asked a question that wasn't answered in this episode, feel free to ask again when I make that post!

it was definitely a good idea to keep field trips as one-button-clicking 2d minigames and at the same time more fun. Not having to go on a trip during a chase with a bald guy at a super schoolhouse makes playing them really enjoyable, relaxing and fun. (the addition of the pit stop changed the game forever, in a great way)

I accidentally found out about the music producer thingy as you might've seen before. I was absolutely panicking when I found it out too. It's very interesting how you said you were going to redo the midi playback system too, I wonder how that might work once you do...

This is might be what you are already doing, but have a checklist of everything you want to cover and check this off when you finish it. This could help prevent the mistake with your first recording where you repeated things a lot

also some feedback i had was maybe you can have some soundtracks playing in the background like the kickstarter ost or soundtracks that exist ingame so it isn’t that silent

Idea for multiplayer: make it like a Party game where each person starts at the elevator, but every round, the schoolhouse is generated. When it's generated, every player has 1:30 minutes to get as many notebooks as they can. Whoever gathers the most noteboos gets to play a minigame, and if they win, they get 100 YTPs. If they fail, Baldi catches them and they cant go into the next notebook hunt. First one to 1000 YTPs first wins! Minigames could be like quick math or jump roping at different intervals. Items can also pop up, like a Diet BSODA to push people from getting notebooks.

When it comes to educational subjects, will math be the only one? Or can we expect to see some other subjects, whether it's in the main game or as bonus side content?

Pfft, right, question. I forgot. You mentioned this new music system, and how’d it be superior to the current one, but exactly how so? What would make it so different from the generic midi player? I guess it’s cheating to ask two questions, but will you keep some of the kickstarter tracks in the game? Thank you so much, mystman! (I’m just saving this question here so I don’t forget. I really like the direction where plus is going with these new ideas especially with the new features being implemented inside V0.8! Though as the game progressively goes on any plans on remaking the trailer and updating the images on both steam and itch pages around the end of development?

This is a wild thought, but you mentioned that the camping mini games were addictive (which they totally are, you did a fantastic job). I could only imagine how addictive they'd be if they were mobile games😂

What will you do if you have an idea for Baldi's Basics after BB+ 1.0? Will you add it in another game. I heard that 1.0 will be the final major update.

My suggestion for future podcasts: have more fun with it. Messing around + trying random things is a good way to make it entertaining for both you and the audience.

Look, all the features in those pre-release buldis are already out for you to play in the last update. So there's no point in demanding for them.

Will you update Classic Remastered close to or after Version 1.0 of Plus' release? With all the updates Plus is recieving, Classic Remastered is starting to feel outdated.

How did you manage to convince your sister to scream into the mic for Mrs. Pomp's angry state, and do you have any plans to invite her on the podcast as well as your brother? 2. What was the main inspiration for Dr. Reflex's design in both BB+ and the Baldimore Comics. Some people claim it's from Wallace & Gromit, is this true? 3. Do you have any plans to add the Expelling feature that you mentioned in an old Kickstarter post? 4. Do you have any plans to use your GameBanana account for anything? (Coding, Modding, etc.)

Well, pre-releases usually release in the morning of Mondays, so I've been losing hope that this one will release today. Maybe tomorrow or so instead. (I literally can't wait for the pre-release)

I got a few questions you could maybe answer: This is a very stupid question and I may be the only one, but I actually need to make sure you see this one. 1. Would you EVER consider a Fortnite Collaboration? Because I would genuinely buy the entire set just to run around the Island as Baldi😭 Epic games does Indie Collabs from time to time so it may be possible if you reach out maybe... 2. Will you ever discuss or show off unused/cut content? I think it would be really cool to hear about it :3 3. This one isn't really a question, but I think it would be cool if you did these podcasts in video form so there's a visual to see. Although that may be more work then its worth so... 4. Would you ever bring on the other voice actors to the podcast? I think it would be cool to hear from them too. 5. Is there any chance you release BB+ to Xbox Early Access? Or is your only plans to release it when its fully finished? Also what platforms are you considering releasing on? That's all I really got for now, I'll add more if I think of any.
