Hey everyone, here's the fourth episode of the Basically Games Podcast! In this episode I talk about the new 0.10 content and changes and answer some more of your questions!

Note that while the podcast itself is public, questions are reserved for Patreon members and Kickstarter backers. I'll make a post dedicated to asking questions for the next episode about a week after the public release of version 0.11. Please keep the comments on this post related to this podcast episode. Thanks!

I like the podcast and that you answered my questions. (One of my qestion) but thinks!

I do see why you chose to make items randomly placed, especially with now where the randomness of the game isn’t really as visible as it used to be. However I feel like it kind of ruins both the students and the locked doors for me, as if I fail but got Atleast some information about the lost item location or where the key is, it makes it a lot more reasonable for me to go back to those locations. But if it’s random I feel like (except with the bus pass) I only go in those locked rooms or try to locate the right student if I do it by chance. EDIT: Especially when you don’t know which student goes to which item, I feel like the system might work better if while the items randomize locations, maybe they stay the same set of items, so there may always be a portal poster on a level, but it’s location swaps. And along with that the students don’t switch.

Pretty neat episode. I absolutely love the idea of sprinkling in some content from other level types to earlier levels (also maybe within the later levels like rotohalls in maintanance) and I want it in the game real bad now. General endless mode improvements are also really welcome mainly since I always found that mode to be a bit undercooked. I hope that throwing in this small idea won't be a problem. My main issue with it is if all the notebooks are collected too fast, you are forced to wait a long time until one finally respawns all while Baldi gets to accelerate for free. There should always be a notebook available to collect.

excited for the "really cool moments" planned for baldi's basics plus! thanks for answering my question

Good podcast Micah and thanks for answering my question! There is one thing that wasn’t talked about much in the episode that I would bring up. The new HUD timers. I definitely agree that the player should know when certain effects or items will wear off, that’s great design. However, certain animations were removed as a result. One noticeable change is that the Facility Nametag no longer has its spinning animation. Despite this being a small change, I feel like this takes way some of the charm of the game. If there is a good way to give the player the idea that an item or effect is wearing off during an animation, that would be great! I hope you keep trying new ideas to improve BB+, you’re doing great man! 👍

It’s great to know the conveyor belt room will be worked on in the future! Can’t tell you how many times I was caught by Baldi when I got stuck in there.

The spinning Faculty Nametag should be inside the gauge.
