Well, I kinda got fiddling around in my banks of WIP projects, started fiddling with this one and boom! It suddenly got finished!

One small typo in the last sentence, pretty sure it should be "... veterans *of the bloodiest..."

I remember seeing a comic (cannot remember the artist) about a landing party of soldiers who realize their combat suits aren't suits, but that rather they're now consciousnesses trapped in automatons and this is just as terrifying.

Also, the third sentence has an apostrophe in the wrong place. It should say “Empire’s favour,” not “Empires’ favour.” While not strictly a typo, if we’re going to collectively edit a finished work, I should add that the last sentence would be greatly improved by some commas.
